It makes complete sense when you realize that Woodward and the Glazers in the post-Fergie years have spent money mainly to maintain Champions League presence and the resulting commercial benefits. Winning the league is not their priority and most of their moves have been geared only towards qualifying for the champions league.

As much as i hated JM's style he realized this in his last transfer window when they refused to back him after coming 2nd the season before. They didn't back him not because they hated him or wanted him to fail BUT because they truly believed that a team that came 2nd the season before was still good enough to make top 4 (their secret goal) the next season.

Rather than push on from 2nd to 1st the next season they wanted to maintain Top 4 and when Top 4 was in jeopardy they sacked JM and appointed Amaka as a temp. Immediately Top 4 looked secure they appointed Amaka as the permanent manager. The fans are looking for ways to continue to spend and improve the squad until they win league titles but the board are looking for ways to spend to maintain Champions League Football.

If you know this truth you will be set free.

Anybody that doesn't know this is lagging behind. And Solskjaer is clearly the kind of manger Woodward and co are looking for. A yes man that can occasionally get UCL that wont make any trouble about getting marqee signing

I agree with you that the manager is the easiest problem to solve and should rightfully be the first to go. I have said it for a while now that he is not good enough to take us back to the top.

However you make it sound like if the manager changes everything would magically improve. I don’t want you or other people sharing that belief to be shocked if we still have some problems after changing manager.
Our contract and transfer negotiation teams are diabolical and keep wasting limited funds.
Our squad as constructed has several glaring deficiencies.

Focusing only on Amaka and not accepting that we have other problems will only mislead people.
During the next window we will find out if the recent restructuring has corrected a major problem (transfers).

Honestly I think all of us are in total agreement that we have problems.

These players were useless with the previous manager. There is a reason he is the FORMER manager.

The coach is A problem but he is not THE problem.

Solskjaer has bought Maguire, AWB, VDB, James, Cavani and Bruno since he came and Greenwood was drafted in from youth team. Thats 7 players already. Out of the current regular starters only Fred, Mctominay, Martial, Rashford and Shaw that were there before he joined. Infact Rashford and Mctominay have both grown into proper professionals within these periods, and Shaw has massively improved. So this is clearly an Ole team. You cant sack the Glazerd or Woodward mow. Ole is the easiest problem to remove

That is his problem. Inconsistency. The talent is immense but consistency and mentality are lacking.

Martial has always been a dangerous player. The issue with him is if he can put his body on the line and work his socks off. Ole should please let him know that. Yesterday I saw Tuchel yelling at a chelsea that he is too lazy for his liking. Sometimes players are not lose focus on the pitch especially if thats their default setting, the onus lies on the Manager or anybody on the bench to let them know. Fergie does that a lot
