Qualification for the World Cup is a reflection of where you truly are in your national football development. Let's not get it twisted; I would trade two or three African Cup of Nations titles for a World Cup ticket. After all, at the global stage, who truly values Afcon apart from us Africans?

We blame some North African countries for always qualifying for the World Cup and doing badly at the competition, but we forget that they continue to dominate African club continental competitions.
I will not trade 1 AFCON title for 3 world cup tickets. If you give me an opportunity to chose between wining the next AFCON or qualify for this world . I will chose AFCON title.

This puts Lesotho ahead of Rwanda on the table. Will this motivate Rwanda to regain their position on the table tommorow?

You must resort to improper words to pass across a message. I would rather call you the joker and pessimist. Let Nairalanders check the consistency of my posts on this thread and of yours to evaluate a joker.
Football is not Mathematics. We played Rwanda away and beat them 2-0. Mathematics meant we would/should beat them 2-0 or more at home, alas it was 1-0.
Having been beaten 2:1 by this same team in Abidjan it will suffice to payback when it mattered most with the new attacking combo we discovered.
4-0 I have been singing from the beginning and God-willing at least 4:0 we shall get.
I apologise if that appears like. Honestly i dont mean it like that

burkina had 10 goals wiped out because they flogged the last team with 10 goals.

So they had 11 goals + todays 3= 14 goals

We have 11 goals if we add 3 against Benin = 14 goals

We have same goals with them.

It goes to a tie. They have 17/18 yellow card I am not sure if the had a red.

You forget goals against the last team is non existent for second place.

So their 10 goals against last place does not matter.

Confirm we need just 3 goals against Benin to go ahead of them.
Our 2 goals we scored against Zimbabwe will also be taken out remember

3 goals except we have more yellow cards
They have 13 goals and conceeded 7. +6.
Considering we have score 11 goals overall and conceded 8. Remove the 2 goals we sxored and conceded against Zimbabwe. That 9-6. If we win 3-0. It will be 12-6, +6. But they have more goals. We need 4nil or 4-1. And with thst its impossible.

Meanwhile I really dislike the attitude of Nigerian players, I have only seen strong mentality and passion from osimhen, they play games like it’s just one of those games.

You need to see falcons play, the passion, the fight and strong mentality.

Ekong Ndidi Iwobi Moses Chukwueze are the worst culprits of this, they lack any passion most times, no fight no grits, like they play so casually like they can’t wait to go to their clubs, very poor national team mentality.

I would rather ndidi seat out this game, ekong too..

If they don’t want to come play they should reject call ups, you play like 6 times a year for your national team except there is a competition yet they are so casual about games.
The best thing to do is do the Stephen Keshi Method. Flushout everybody and restart on a fresh note.
Ekong, Ndidi, Simon Moses, Chukwueze, Ndidi, Nwabali,Onyeka, Dessers, Bruno Onyemaechi, Osayi Samuel, Alhassan, Ajayi and Iwobi and co. All of them no more National team call up for them.
Biuld around Osihmen, Lookman), Bassey, Fredrick, Onyedika, Dele-Bashiru, Akor Adams, Chrisantus Uche, Ola Aina, and Felix Agu.

Go and bring Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, the GK Arthur Okonkwo, integrate Maigana and Sani Suleiman from the Under 20s.

If we can Convince Lesley Ugochukwu. That will be great too. Then go scouting both in Nigeria and Europe and bring serious players.

A Sqaud of .

Gk.Arthur Okonkwo, Okoye, Amas Obasogie.
Defenders: Aina, Felix Agu, Bassey, Fredricks, etc
Midfielders: Akinsamiro, Ugochukwu, Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Uxhe, Sani Suleiman and Tahir Maigana.

Fwd: Lookman, Osihmen, Akor Adams, Alakodare, Terem Moffi etc.

Then find other younger players thst are hungry and make it up. Ekong can still remain in the team but as Captain who rarely plays.

hahaha calm down with the vitriolic and resentful comments. Remember y’all loved him at the last Afcon. The guy been goofing around lately but he needs a psychologist and a serious contender for the position. Since the legendary Vincent Enyeama retired we don’t have a solid number 1 yet. May God of soccer ⚽️ favor Nigeria
His perfomance at the AFCON is gone. He cant keep costing us because we reach AFCON final. There is nothing like Competition, the best thing to do is to either kick him out of the team completely or bench him to send a message that discipline and professionalism is key. You think if its a top coach he will tolerate that from his GK?

ekong with the own goal and zimbabwe error, awoniyi and boniface twin tragedy losing chances in our first matches, ndidi with his covenant with never scoring. Point is, this is a team work. Lets not apportion blames to one person alone, it should go round. Uzoho might be blamed for that but you remember osimhen was also doing bicycle in that game when we needed just one more goal. Lets prepare for the friendlies in november as the only way we can go further is only through the direct route. I have accepted the fact that we wont go. Would occupy myself with movies to watch by the time of the match and come and watch basco's highlights after we bash the team or praise the team, whatever the outcome is. We just hope for a better outing in our WCQ starting from 2027.
I agree about the earlier mistake. But peoppe with the mentality and attitude of Nwabali should be no where the national team. The guys behaviour irritates me. In a crucial match were you barely made any save, you decided to mess us up. At the time we conceded that goal we were cruising and was even going for the 3rd goal. Boom! he came up with his unprofessional behavioue. I do not agree with you about not aportioning blames, there shiuld be consequences for him for such behaviour including the one against Rwanda where he was determined to be sent off

Congo and Cameroon will go for broke. It is what it is.

This is where visionless planning and poor leadership gets you.

From AFCON runners up to this.
Private individual forsaw this Play offs loophole, but our technicall team at NFF were not even aware. If you watch the Burkina match, you coould see that they have read the table and understood that they needed goals. But our own we were just jonsing against Rwanda and Lesotho. People wey we suppose thump at least 3-0 each.
Same thing happened with the double yellow card issue, the team technical crew were not even aware, until private individual fans noticed it. Honestly if we want pur football to move forward, we need to protest in the NFF office and chase away all those guys at NFF they have killed Nigeriam football completely

We like giving accolades to mediocrity in this country.

Tell me when last we took advantage of all these mediocre teams. Now Burkina Faso is 3-1 up against Ethiopia. Tell me how we're gonna scale through?

Maduka didn't commit quarter of blunders committed by Nwabali before he was dragged all over the internet.

Now look at what Nwabali has costs us, yet some folks will still be defending him.

Chelle is a good coach. No one should blame him should we fail to make it to the World Cup.

Ever watched Ghana play? Even if they lost, they usually play the round leather with passion and hunger. But our boys will be strolling on the pitch. No pressing, and Zero ball position.

I love the Super Eagles. But of what use are they in the world stage when they're struggling against Africa minnows?
You see that guy called Stanley Nwabali . The guy don do us strong thing. Like i mention earlier, if I am the super Eagles coach, the first person I will kick out of the team is Nwabali. I hate that guy with passion. His mentality and attitude is bottom base. I wonder how he is eveb a professional footballer. We seriosly need tp look for another GK if we want to do anything reasonable in any competition

NOT AT ALL. OUR WORK IS CLEARLY DEFINED AND HIGHLY POSSIBLE. DEFEAT BENIN REPUBLIC BY A 4GOALS MARGIN AND QUALIFY FOR PLAYOFF SPOT WITHOUT RESORTING TO ANY TIE BREAKERS.
If you think we will beat Benin by a 4 goals margin then you must be a joker. And i am one of the biggest Optimists you can find.

We had our opportunity to sxore more goals against Rwanda and Lesotho. But we couldnt. The one we scored Nwabali used his brainfart to reduce it. At thos point, I give up.

Burkina Faso 3 Ethiopia 1. Now we need that 4:0 victory over Benin Republic. Firstly most of you forget that Burkina Faso has more goals scored than Nigeria that is why majority of you were clamoring for 1:0 or 2:0. Thump Benin by 4goals margin or more and leave following other results. It is so simplified.
You see why i was clamouring to stuff Lesotho with plenty goals. As it stands now, we beed to bid the play offs good bye

The way you guys calculate goals.

If Nigeria win Benin 2-0, and Burkina Faso wins 2-1, we are tied on goals and points
Now there will be a tie breaker which is yellow/red card, knowing Burkina Faso I know they have more yellow cards.

This is the same way people started shouting 3-0 goals when we needed against Benin if South Africa looses.

We should not be running around looking for 3 goals in the last minute when we have 2, and use it to advance. Let’s be sure of our calculations

Burkina vs Ethiopia is a very expected result
If it had been 1-0 to Burkina then 2-0 will tie them. But
2-1. They will be ahead of us on goal scored.

You are bot correct. I have calculated this thing months ago. Gabon and Cameroon are certainly in. If DRC wins Sudan on Tuesday, they are in too. That leaves us with just 1 slot. The Burkinafaso match was ever going to determine our fate, not the Madagascar one.

In a conspiracy theory I developed, I foresee Infantini doing a needful to ensure direct qualification for Cameroun whilst Cape Verde goes to play off. Senegal, Ghana and Ivory Coast will also qualify directly.
Who can complete the seeming ideology behind the conspiracy theory?
Infantini cannot do anything for Cameroon as Cape verde are playing at home to the whipping boys Eswatini, it will take a miracle of the highest proportion for Cape verde not to win. I wasn’t surprised thinking that group will be among the disadvantaged groups we can capitalise but Cape verde did the unthinkable and won I think Guinea Bussau away and Cameroon to scatter things
