Although he was signed before Mourinho’s appointment, Luke Shaw was a £30 million full-back – more expensive than City striker Gabriel Jesus. The United manager’s complaints about the value of the squads do not add up.

We can go on throughout the respective lists. Where Mourinho sees players unable to execute his tactical blueprint, I believe Guardiola would have taken a different approach with a squad Mourinho believes needs reinforcing.

If Mourinho was coaching the Manchester City side they would not be playing the style of football we are seeing today. If there is a symbol of that look no further than Kevin De Bruyne, a player Mourinho coached at Chelsea but then sold.

These are the kind of I.m.beciles some of us listen to, those kind of trolls are every day eeidioits that flood the internet to talk rubbish. To be frank most of Van Gaal signings were really not bad at the time, it's just that things didn't work out...Depay was a hot prospect every other team wanted, Schneiderlin was among the best DM in the EPL, Teiger came with experience...Why things didn't work out is what I really don't know.

They are good players but not good signings, they are mid table quality, put them in a lower team, they will perform that you will think they are world beater. Look at depay, scheiderlin and co, they are putting in shifts in their current clubs but can't cut in in big clubs. That was why we are struggling to make top 4 with them.

14 players over 2 years is a starting eleven complete compared to 7 over two years. United needed quality and quality isn't cheap hence our huge outlay on players. If the club has realised this then they should be willing and ready to invest even more before we are left further behind. I don't give a fvck if we are a billion dollar team. We should go out there and scare opponents with good football played by world class players. City has shown they will spend if the manager identifies weakness in the team or mistakes in his transfers. They want to get more defenders, go for players like Sanchez. We should be responding in kind with quality players not some of the average malcom and soler we are linked to.

I have been asking for Sanchez since the summer, why can't we just sign that guy, let city not buy him oo. Why not buy Dybala and Perisic also snap up Ozil. Then go for a world class defender offload smalling, Damian and Blind. Use their money to buy sessegnon. Also get rid of Herrera to teams like Eibar or Levente. Lingard is developing into a good squad player and martial is turning into a world class. I see Ranaldo and Rooney combo in those two.
