Nnadozie is a safe pair of hands. The team needs this Olympics to build on their WC performance. |
Mali is the superior team tonight. Better spatial awareness and coordinated transitions. Let's see how the second half goes. |
Mehn ,Naija is funny sha..we forget easily and end up making cyclical errors. Eguavoen's tactical limitations cost us AFCON progress and world cup qualification but he gets the nod again. Not expecting anything from the Guardiola wannabe. |
mrwilliams9:Probably still adapting to the league. He gets bullied off the ball too easily. He may need to bulk up a bit. My big worry has been his SE performance. He is yet to show anything close to his AFCON19 performance. |
Before following up. Print a copy of your bank statement for the said duration. SMS charge is meant to be N4 per alert. Do a computation of your transactions for each month (debits and credits) to see if it adds up to the total sum deducted. Any discrepancy found from this should form the basis of your case. |
Kog45:The tiredness wasn't just physical but also mental. Peseiro inadvertently acknowledged this in his post match analysis. It is good to utilize the squad during a tournament to prevent issues like this. Keshi used to work with a Togolese Psychologist. I don't know if JP has any. The Ivorians were under less mental pressure than our players which was strange given that they were playing at home. |
The backlash received by the SE players from some quarters is sickening. These guys are HEROES....Very few gave them a chance to do anything tangible. The comaraderie in this team was noticeable different. The fought together, suffered together but came up short in the end. We as fans need to get behind them. Egypt was able to win our total AFCON tally between 2006 - 2010. There is nothing stopping us from achieving such a feat with proper planning. |
caprikon:The last paragraph sums up the game today. Keshi's 2013 team were swashbuckling though started slowly. WCQ is next....early preparation is key. |
elyte89:The Ivorians played their best game today. SA exposed our frailties, CIV picked up from there. I was expecting a tactical switch after the SA game, to at least unsettle the Ivorian game plan which never happened. Fatigue played a key role. A team defending continuously will definitely suffer physical and mental fatigue. |
No need kicking the team at this moment. Never expected Naija to go this far. Ivory Coast is the story of the tourney though.Mehn their mentality is monstrous. Kudos to the guys and the coach. But this night has shown us one thing, negative football has it's limitations. We ended up conceding as many goals in the final as we did all through the tournament prior to the finals. The team that takes the initiative, will most likely carry the day in the end. |
CIV deserves this on the balance of play except we rally late |
An ultra defensive setup has it draw backs. |
Ekong !!!!! |
Chuks needs to up his defensive contributions. The right flank is under pressure |
charlesemeka85:You sure say you understand wetin you quote so ![]() Tipping Naija to win 1:0. |
AFCON 98 was the last time an AFCON final ended with more than a goal margin. Expecting an edgy encounter, either 1:0 or 2:1. We are yet to score more than a goal in a game so far. Boys need to be at their clinical best as chances no go too dey...sad hearing loss of lives cos of the tension of yesterday's game. |
Jose Peseiro was a lot more gracious in victory, giving kudos to the SA team. |
charlesemeka85:Watched an interview where a South African complained about Hugo's cocky attitude. He made some disparaging remarks towards Kaizer Chief players and denigrated some other local players in the SA league. So happy he lost with that kind of attitude. |
Hugo Broos was a bit cocky in the post match presser..saying the better team lost .Bar the foul by Yusuf leading to the disallowed goal, Lookman had a clear chance to bury the game at 1:0 which he fluffed. The bizarre turn of events leading to their penalty swung the momentum in their favour. Man was a bit disrespectful to Nigeria |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_nb0jgdwbY?si=V5b76R8udrwroQ7f Very apt pre-match analysis by the Ghanaian TV pundits which eventually panned out as Alex Iwobi was exposed defensively in the 3-4-3 set up particularly in the first half. Difficult one, but wouldn't be surprised if the coach plays a 4-3-3 variant or 3-5-2 in the final to reduce the defensive burden on Iwobi and free him to operate for longer spells closer to the forward line. |
Good to hear JP give SA their props for the organization the brought whilst also acknowledging the shortcomings of this 3-4-3 system. Sad, Onyeka is out of the finals. |
NGR VS CIV for the finals. What a beautiful tourney once again. Our group wasn't easy after all. But the Ivorian story is the story of tournament.Qualified as best losers, changed head coach but are now in the finals.Chai Naija go for the fourth title.!!!! |
This CIV will not be good to face in the finals o. What a goal from Haller. This AFCON needs a documentary once it is finished. |
As for the hexes, Cameroon has been our nemesis in all the AFCON finals we've lost. Just glad they are watching from home now. |
SA found a way to use clever movement and passing to disrupt what looked like an impenetrable defense. Wouldn't mind if we play 4-2-1-3 in the final. Nwabili Ekong. Bassey. Aina Zaidu Onyedika. Onyeka/Yusuf Iwobi SiMoses. Lookman Osimhen It will be risky leaving any team to run rings like SA were able to do during the game particularly in the first half. I |
The goalie situation was a missing piece of the SE puzzle. If it was Uzoho, no chance. Man like NWABILI |
Nwabili... man of the matcb |
Mehn..I don piss for body. |
This was SA's game plan from the onset. Chai, Lookman's miss has come back to hunt the team. |
SA don enter final o |
