Fubara is begining to tow the path of impunity, calling elected chairmen "so called chairmen" is wrong, even if their tenure remains one day, the should be respected too as elected representatives chisomkachy: |
Freshtruth:This shows that you don't know the dynamics of Rivers state politics. If it comes to proper election in the state, the Ilwerres decides where it will go. They have more voting strength. Fubara's LGA has just 8 wards which is even lesser in voting strength than Wike's ward alone. And with the way Fubara has made it look like an ethnic war, believe me the uplanders will not agree. He will be removed at the appropriate time. All this commissioners that are resigning are masters of the game im Rivers state, even his illegal speaker Oko Jumbo does not have to legislative experience as this is his first time as an assembly member courtesy of this same Wike. You think Rivers people are all fools? Trying to bring Wike down will lead to Fubara's early exit..mark my words |
This his road was almost completed by Wike, he has not started any project of his own. FYI press9jatv: |

#Reality RIVERS ASSEMBLY OVERRIDES GOVERNOR FUBARA'S ASSENT, PASSES PUBLIC PROCUREMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL INTO LAW ... Gives Electricity Market Bill, Local Government (Consolidation) Bill First Reading The Rivers State House of Assembly, on Monday, at its 173th Legislative Sitting, has overridden the assent of Governor Siminialayi Fubara to pass the Rivers State Public Procurement (Amendment)Bill, 2024 into Law. The House took the decision to override the Governor after he withheld his assent. Recall that the House passed the Rivers State Public Procurement (Amendment)Bill, 2024 on the 26th of March, 2024 and transmitted same to the Governor for assent, which the Governor declined. Remarking on the Bill which was represented by the Majority Leader, Hon. Major Jack and debated upon by Members, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, reiterated the essence of the Bill, which is to secure taxpayers money and to ensure that taxpayers money are not spent on frivolities and twisted contracts. Rt. Hon. Amaewhule bemoaned a situation where due process is relegated to the background, contracts awarded without legal backing and the State being governed in a dictatorial panache. The Speaker added that despite all the malfeasance, the House will continue to uphold the Laws of Rivers State and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as altered; stressing that if the Governor, Sir. Siminialayi Fubara, continue in this manner, the House will at the appropriate time take more stringent measures, because according to him, the House cannot stand aloof and watch the Governor continue to breach the Laws of the State in a tyrannical manner. Thereafter, the House in accordance with the provisions of Section 100 (5)of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as altered, voted, and with a two-third majority votes passed the Bill into Law. In another development, the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government, Hon. Ignatius Onwuka, presented a preliminary Report on the petition by two Local Government Chairmen, wherein he stated the agony of staff of Emohua Local Government Council, who he said have not been paid salary for two months on the directive of the Acting Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission to those responsible for signing requisite documents. Hon Onwuka described the so called Acting Chairman as an imposter, stressing that such position is not known to law in the State. Commenting on the Report, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amaewhule condemned in unequivocal terms the recalcitrance of this official who parades himself as the Acting Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, adding that it is the result of administrative lawlessness being encouraged by Governor Fubara. The Speaker emphasized that the House would not fold its arms and see staff of Emohua Local Government Council to suffer, and therefore resolved to mandate the Committee to again invite the Commission's Secretary, and where he fails to appear before the Committee, the House will invoke its powers by issuing warrant of arrest. Also on Monday, the House gave First Reading to the Rivers State Electricity Market Bill, 2024, sponsored by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule. It is a Bill for a Law to Repeal the Rivers State Electricity and Gas Board Law CAP 50, Laws of Rivers State,1999; and to enact the Rivers State Electricity Market Law to Provide for Electricity Supply, its Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution within Rivers State, to Establish the Rivers State Electricity Commission for the enforcement of Consumers' Right and Obligation and for connected purposes. Similarly, the Rivers State Local Government (Consolidation) Bill, 2024 was presented by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dumle Maol, and read the First Time. The Bill seeks to consolidate all the Local Government Laws in the State for ease of reference. Signed Martins Wachukwu S. A. Media Aide To The Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly May, 6th, 2024

[qquote author=TriCee post=129586296]Hmmmm. Rivers don't really have a governor yet. Wike still dey run shows from Abuja. Them go soon impeach the Fubara guy. Man is a slow thinker. But if the house enacts a law, is it not the governor that signs it into law?
The Nigerian constitution empowers the state assembly to override the government and pass a bill into law themselves if the governor withholds his assent and signature |

Read and understand properly. The grain was a donation from U.N, it doesn't concern us where the U.N is getting tbe grain from so far as it is a donation to us. And what is bad if U.N imports grain from Ukraine in order to boost their war chest against the invading Russians? SoNature: |

Rivers state has coded business billionaires, politicians, artists and sports stars. It's not always about crude oil alone. Herbert Wigwe an Ikwerre man from Port Harcourt city Kushites: |
You are talking about Seatransport Nigeria limited. It's a good company that gives ample opportunity for starters in the Nigerian maritme industry. But it's managed by Indians and we all know how they manage Nigerian companies. I started as wiper in the company, today I'm a Motorman and very soon I will write my COC exam and become a third engineer..I studied political and administrative studies in school. They only need to increase their salary for their Nigerian crew who do almost all the hard jobs onboard, this will stop experienced and hard working Nigerian hands leaving the company to other companies [qquote author=Tbozun post=126153865] Bismillah Rahmani Roheem My Life at Sea (Being my daily accounts of my experience as a seafarer) Day One (Tuesday 8th August,2023 I can say my seafaring experience started with the company Oceanic Transport Limited (not real name). My contract was signed on the 8th of August 2023, 3 copies- one was left at the office and I was to take 2 along one for myself and one for the ship's captain. I embarked on the ship ST.MT. ZAHZOO (not real name) the same day. My experience while taking the flying boat to the ship was also interesting. From the window I could see the sea and some ships too were scattered here and there. I also noticed some big granite stones were used to line some places which I figure is to break the strength of the ocean waves and prevent them from going beyond. We were stopped on the way by NDLEA officials and they enquire from the driver who we were to which he answered surveyors and crew members. One of them entered and asked the only lady among us some questions and asked to identify herself which she did. We also stopped at Naval checkpoint and there was not any issue. Now we arrived at the ship and myself and one other person. The scalar (rope ladder) was dropped and we had to carefully climb. Luckily the ship had stair about midway which was used to finally enter the ship. The captain was around and asked for my age which I told him. He asked if that was my first time on board ship which I answered in the affirmative. He said I was older than him and he asked a question which I could not answer. Not a very hard one but because it was long I studied the training book. The officer that came with me said I should have just said something as once you are taught a thing you come to know it as everybody started from somewhere. I pray the captain doesn't use it against me. I was ushered in and shown the cabin I was to stay. It had an occupant, a cadet,, Mr. Stanley who received me very well and showed me where to put my luggage ( to be contd)
|

You are not from Rivers state, you would have known that that is Rivers state flag colour. Every state in Nigeria have their state flag. Rivers state's motto is Treasure baseof the nation. Saga16: |
You are very incorrect about Amaechi conscripting Wike into power. Let me educate you a little. Firstly? while the k-leg saga that replaced Rotimi Amaechi with kins man Sir Celestine Omehia were in court, Amaechi went into a self imposed exile to Ghana. It was Wike that mobilized resources and manpower that removed Omehia and Amaechi was sworn in. He compensated Wike with the position of the chief of staff. Meanwhile Wike has earlier ruled for two terms as the chairman of the most populated local government in Rivers state, Obio Akpor. After the first tenure of Amaechi, he started seeing the fast rising profile and popularity of Wike his Chief of staff and decided to send him out of the state as a state minister in Abuja. We all know the rest of the story. Secondly, Wike holds 99.9% of his party's state structure and he has dissolved the campaign council which performed very well for his successor and inaugurated a 250 man transition/handover committee. He also announced the appointment of a new Rivers state independent electoral commission chairman in the person of Retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli. Conclusively, Wike is ending very well more than the other South governors. |
I doubt the authenticity of this story because her name was not mentioned neither was her tribe or state mentioned. ogaemma: |
Wike that has stayed with PDP through thin and thick. He spent so much money to keep the party afloat when others usually ran away to Dubai after each election outing. If Wike leaves PDP then opposition in this country is dead. And the court has even told them they can't suspend him. He is strongly enjoying the support of his ward, LGA and state party excos. Ntor |
