Car Talk › Re: Better Mpg During The Harmattan Season... by captainking(m): 2:17pm On Jan 20, 2019 |
Piyke: Piston. Any contribution on topic? nice.. I remember it now... I can't really speak much on that.. Just that I noticed my honda accord 05 transformed from negative of about -15 STFT and LTFT to positive of about 0.00 to 0.1 and above.. I gave my brother my car.. And he took it to a mecho who serviced it.. And I guess the mechanic must have cleaned some areas that made reversed the trims.... My experience... |
Car Talk › Re: Better Mpg During The Harmattan Season... by captainking(m): 12:38am On Jan 20, 2019 |
Piyke: So this has been my experience I think for the past 2 - 3 years. Don't really understand why, but the evidence doesn't lie. BTW I always use the AC except on cold mornings.
Prior to the dry season LTFT is almost close to -10%, its always above - 5%. Also, from fill up to half tank I get about 170miles. NB: I round up to the nearest hundred once the dispenser clicks. In contrast, for the dry season I consistently get =or+190miles (306km) by half tank. Also as you will see in the pic attached my LTFT this morning was - 3.9%
I get petrol from the same filling station all year round. And true, I may use less AC in the cold mornings of the dry season, but I would expect the LTFT to be similar.
Does anyone else experience this improved fuel economy? Car is an 03 Accord LX. which scan app is this pls. I used to have it. Kindly remind me it's name |

Car Talk › Re: Help! My 2007 Honda Civic Doesn't Rev! by captainking(m): 5:24pm On Jan 17, 2019 |
bluehorizo: Hello gurus in the house. My 2007 Honda Civic started with a low rev. Whereby it doesn't move as fast as it should be. I noticed that it revs so high when it is in Park. Or suddenly revs high while in motion. Kazeem suggested that it was the gearbox and so I changed the gearbox. Ever since I changed the gearbox, the problem persists and even worse. It doesn't 'raise' high. It goes so slowly and wouldn't be able to climb any hill. I scanned it but I was detected that it was the injector mouth. I bought another injector mouth and it is still the same problem.
Pls guru in he house should pls help me as this is the source of living for me. Oh lord.. Please go and collect back your old gear box... It might still be good... Since the new gear box did not fix the issue... Have you heard of the word... Scan?? Scanning your car wod save you a lot... Go and scan your car first... For now.. Let me help you call the guruz... Gazzuzz... Mayor123,, autologic... Nurey... Motorguru... But go and scan your car... |

Op.. Without bias.. You probably do not know gazzuzz well.. He is someone who gives guarantee on his services.. And does not use the normal fake parts flooded in the markets.. MotorGuru: P0010 means you have a problem with your Variable valve timing system. Check the the following:
1. Engine oil level 2. Engine oil condition ( when last did you change your oil? 3. if the 2 above checks out, Remove the VVT solenoid and clean it (pic attached) 4. Has the engine ever been worked on?(did they remove the Top cylinder) if yes, get a mech to check the timing chain position and tensioner
for P0172, i would advise you reslove the first code first. i did not see any pics attached.. Kindly re-attach.. Thanks |

nurey: You don't need to open shop or a large garage
1st rule of business start small and grow big
2nd rule of business there is nothing that markets a business better than circle of friends
3rd rule of business the most successful business is not one with skyscraper office and educated employees, but one that has solution to a problem not every problem.
You have to pay me for mentorship nothing is free in Freetown
Now you have a landmark, you are a son of the soil
Your circle of friends already know you do magic with one device and your phone. You have market your service.
You just need a small space kiosk or no kiosk as long as it's shaded then get a printer, A4 paper and every Saturday sit at the mechanic shop and offer scanning services, scan and draw out a conclusion online and charge.
As time goes by you will draw out a pattern like code p03xx on accord does this and that but when sensor B is changed all is well you become a professor overnight.
Leave Sunday for madam and the children if none you can visit your parents they told me you never show face since Christmas Good one bro.. Great insights from you.. That's awesome |

rationalmind: Here you have the said discussion
Anyway, I was with him earlier today and really enjoyed his service, even checked more than I asked him to.
His knowledge on vehicle repairs goes beyond your average automech and he's always ready to share.
Minor downside is, he charges a one time registration fee before he can work on your vehicle. I guess it's his own way of making his clients loyal to him
NB: I am not in anyway affiliated to him, just sharing my experience with him. really..wow.. I dint really take note of it then I guess.. He will have lots of referalls from me then..thanks a lot.. |

Car Talk › Re: Dearth Of Good Auto Mechanics In Port Harcourt by captainking(op): 8:54am On Jan 03, 2019 |
nurey: so you can't open shop and cash in. You are one of the problems of Nigeria.
Problem: dearth of knowledgeable auto technicians in portharcourt
Issue: Due to insufficient education and low financial capability to afford quality tools for the diagnosing and fixing of vehicles in portharcourt
solution: Open a shop and partner with locals in offering the services hence creating a niche of solving a problem and financial gains. Jobs created and knowledge transfer
start thinking like an entrepreneur and stop complaining the demeanors general is here.. Well. I am not an auto mecho... Though am learning Lil by Lil here.. And I have the will to learn but less time. I pray this year. I will be able to learn.. But from the little I know.. I have been helping lots of .. Individuals scan and recommend solutions from knowlege gathered here.. I don't try nah even though I can do more. .since I do not have a car repair shop now.. And might not have any in the nearest future.. Those that know car gurus can recommend.. And those that want to start can start.. But I believe sometime in the future..with enough capital and know how.. I will venture into that.. It's one of my dreams.. By the way... Radautoworks, Gazzuzz, autologic, and the rest can open up branches here.. Just saying.. |
