ATMC: what are you saying in effect?Simply and truly that the bolded "God raised pharaoh up to destroy him" is heavy and loaded stuff and if up for it, would not mind you clearly explaining in more detail how "God raised pharaoh up to destroy him" and describing with revealing relevant texts, illustrations, graphic examples, facts or ideas to support "God raised pharaoh up to destroy him" Thank you in advance. |

nnady chuks: may God have mercy, if this man who is a preacher could say this, where then would the followers go to@nnady chuks I don't mind you telling if you agree or not with Pastor E. A. Adeboye's dream that the good disappeared and were taken away and that it was the bad that were left over or behind (i.e. " . . . devil took over and started making mockery of the left over Christians") |
https://i2.wp.com/www.jasonstaples.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/15-Leonhardt-popup-v4.jpg As you can see from the chart, Pentecostals are at the bottom of those listed. Also noteworthy is how their Christian traditions that tend to emphasize tithing to the church and push that as a means to blessing — |
Pastor E. A. Adeboye:Say it with a Yes or No, Yea or Nay. Please stand up and be counted. Show your hands, if you accept Pastor E. A. Adeboye's unpleasant dream of someone; the bad been left behind and also feels sure of disappearing good been taken away. 15 July 2013 Last updated at 02:31 Italy racism row: Cecile Kyenge compared to orangutan https://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/68728000/jpg/_68728482_w5trtkbp.jpg Cecile Kyenge, an Italian citizen, has faced repeated racist abuse since she was named a cabinet minister in April An Italian senator has been pressured into apologising after he said the country's first black cabinet minister reminded him of an orangutan. Roberto Calderoli, from the anti-immigration Northern League, told a rally that the success of Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge encouraged "illegal immigrants" to come to Italy. Ms Kyenge is an Italian citizen born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the latest in a series of rows over racism in Italy. "I love animals - bears and wolves, as everyone knows - but when I see the pictures of Kyenge I cannot but think of, even if I'm not saying she is one, the features of an orangutan," Mr Calderoli said in a speech to a rally in the northern city of Treviso on Saturday. He also said Ms Kyenge should be a minister "in her own country". 'Beyond all limits' Mr Calderoli's words ignited a storm of criticism on social media and from political leaders. Prime Minister Enrico Letta said the comments went "beyond all limits" and he offered "full solidarity and support to Cecile". At first Mr Calderoli offered only a qualified apology, saying his words were part of a larger debate about immigration. But by Sunday evening, he told the Italian news agency Ansa that he had called Ms Kyenge himself to apologise. Ms Kyenge is a Congolese-born doctor who has lived in Italy since 1983. The Northern League has expelled a local politician who suggested on Facebook that someone should r.ape Ms Kyenge so that she "can understand what victims of atrocious crimes feel". And a Northern League member of the European Parliament was expelled from his party grouping after he said Ms Kyenge wanted to impose "tribal traditions" in Italy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-23310837 # This is the aftermath simmering storm instigated by this man, Mr Calderoli's foolish utterance |
"Born Again" per se was never preached by Jesus rather Jesus, with passion in capital p, was more into explaining and teaching all about the Kingdom of God. As Jesus was proclaiming the Kingdom with conviction He was explaining the Good News or Good Spell of the Kingdom too As He was preaching the Kingdom with veracity He was teaching the principle(s) and fundamental truth of the Kingdom with signs and wonders There are only 2 incidents or occurrences of "Born Again" in the entire bible, - Jesus' and Peter's well maybe 3 occurrences albeit two of the three have the same timeline There is no record of Jesus proclaiming or teaching "Born Again" in public The point I am making, is that Jesus never delivered a "Born Again" sermon to an assembled group of people He did not preach or address a large congregation about or over "Born Again". The "Born Again" teaching came about sometime in the middle of the night with only one private audience It was a private tuition or instruction to one person; Nicodemus, away from public glare The teaching, though then an isolated incident, is relevant and beneficial to all The "Born Again" adjective used by modern Christians actually spawned off Nicodemus' meeting with Jesus and Peter's; 1 Peter 1:23. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin Knowing what a Sanhedrin is or means, makes room to understand Nicodemus' unfortunate situation and appreciate why Nicodemus with his conscience and dilemma came to Jesus to confirm or refute the origin of Jesus' teachings and miracles. It was at this juncture that Jesus said to Nicodemus "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Jesus taught Nicodemus that except he, Nicodemus, is "Born Again" born of the word of God - by a seed free of corruption or immorality he Nicodemus will not see or appreciate "the manifestations of the Kingdom of God" and also he, Nicodemus would not believe in the teachings of the Kingdom and the miracles showing and demonstrating the power of God In short, if Nicodemus is not "Born Again" or is born of a corruptible seed, he, Nicodemus, would be in denial, of the manifestation of the Kingdom and experience of the power of God and he'll be BLIND like others, and thinking or saying "No wonder Jesus can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan, the prince of demons." "Jesus casts out demons through Beelzebub the chief of the demons" |
chinedumo: Kjv's Unnessesary archaic English. striktlymi: Hmmmm...Bible translations have their individual fair share of ulterior motives. The bible translations are subjective and riddled with politics; the seemingly innocent KJV inclusive. As a matter of fact, the process of translating words or text from the original Aramaic/Hebrew & Greek languages into other languages to make Bible translations are not God inspired. so this leaves the translations of "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" not necessarily the same as the original Aramaic/Hebrew & Greek texts The inflexible Obadiah777 or host of other KJV tradition-bound conservatives and obstinately opinionated proponents would beg to differ |
kennyman20: Nairalanders, kindly forgive my ignorance incase aint posting this info in the right section. Dont know where to post it.. So, thought this section is the best section for it. Policewoman: Female culprits are not allowed to strip to their tops or go topless before entering the cell.@kennyman20, @Policewoman When incarcerated after an arrest, OBJ's wife was stripped to her underwear ... Apparently this is a common practice in some naija police stations Mrs Oluremi Obasanjo, the mother of Iyabo and Gbenga Obasanjo launched her new book in November 11, 2008 and penned a similar account when arrested by the police. - Esther Oluremi Obasanjo, - BITTER - SWEET My Life With Obasanjo (Diamond Publications, 2008) Excerpts " ...The good time with Obasanjo was short-lived. He became unreliable again, concerned only with his interests. In 1983, I made up my mind that it was better I relocated the poultry business from Abeokuta to Lagos so I could conserve my energy in one place. I transferred Gbenga and Enitan from Corona, Victoria Island to Corona, Gbagada. By this time, Obasanjo had inched his way into the poultry farm and was claiming it as his own. I decided to remove my birds and other items from the land. One Friday, I went to the farm with two lorries; I was in one while Sina, my brother, was in the other. We removed the birds and headed to Lagos. Sina arrived in Lagos without any hitch. Not me. When I reached Lafenwa Roundabout at Abeokuta, I was stopped by Mr. Kosemani, who had attended Damilola’s naming. He told the police to arrest me because I had stolen Obasanjo’s birds. I made great fuss before the police could arrest me. People gathered to watch the spectacle. While this was going on, an old woman urged the crowd to leave Kosemani alone as anyone who allowed his head to be used in cracking a coconut never ate of it. I was clamped in jail at Lafenwa Police Station. I was placed behind the counter at the police station, where I had been stripped to my underwear. Obasanjo left his place at Ota for my Oduduwa Crescent residence in Lagos to retrieve the poultry products with Sina. Satisfied, he came to Abeokuta where he directed that I should be taken to court the following Monday. When the DPO arrived, he asked me to dress up. I told him I was only acting on the police instructions. Late Chief Olanrewaju and Chief Niyi Adegbenro visited me at the station, pleading with me that I should go home. Both had visited Obasanjo at home in Abeokuta to tell him what he did was wrong. It was he who directed them to come to me at the station. Bad news travels fast. Simbiat Abiola waded in; she brought her elder sister and offered to bail me. I refused, opting to sleep in jail as Kosemani had directed. I spent the night in police cell, a guest of mosquitoes. ..." https://www.diamondpublicationsng.com/diamondpublications/images/bittersweetbook.jpg http://www.diamondpublicationsng.com/diamondpublications/bittersweetbkaugust08.html https://www.nairaland.com/196903/bitter-sweet-iyabos-mother-recounts |

Smartie gurl: I was just reading this portion of the bible and suddenly got shocked at the below passage.@Smartie gurl Following up Blame it on shoddy This is a rookie's ignorance and mistake to avoid. There are no question marks in Greek. The Greek question mark is the same sign as the English semicolon. Word up! Refer to below link to see the Greek punctuation system: http://www.mythfolklore.net/bibgreek/alphabet/tips_punctuation.htm In Greek and Church Slavonic, the question mark is a semicolon. The regular Latin semicolon can be used U+003B ; semicolon. Although it exists a separate character U+037E ; greek question mark, the regular semicolon is well used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Question_mark |
Smartie gurl: I was just reading this portion of the bible and suddenly got shocked at the below passage. Please explain if you have a better explanation. Thanks.@Smartie gurl Nothing to be shocked over, no cause to be alarmed at all This was meant for or addressed to a particular person and others with similar views Someone made this statement first and typically without providing evidence, - the highlight and the rest of it so Paul whilst responding, to put to rest the "aggressor's" claim, via this letter, had to repeat what the aggressor said with a tinge of sarcasm and irony at the baffling stand of the aggressor Paul did not mistrust women or nor can be accused of been misogynistic Using Google Translate from English to Greek result: English 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

drone99: Hey guys, I've been wondering what the 3 statues that welcome people to Lagos stand for;https://lagostomegacity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Lagos-welcome-statue.jpg Tell us what the ‘Welcome to Lagos’ statue stands for and how it came about? https://sunnewsonline.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Bodun-Sodeinde-612x300.jpg Renowned sculptor, Dr. Bodun Sodeinde, is a reporter’s delight any day. He is an artist personified and always cherish discussing it. He’s the man that created the now ubiquitous ‘Welcome to Lagos’ statue in the year 1991 In 1989, Lagos State government commissioned me to erect a statue of unknown soldiers where they placed wreaths every January 15, sometimes in terms of making a bid by what had been identified by them. To do this, I was contacted, with others, to put in a bid for the erection of a beautiful statue, in abstract form, to welcome visitors to Lagos. Governor Raji Rasaki, then, was definite about it being in abstract form, as opposed to realistic work. I went back and began my research. That research gave birth to what we now have as ‘Welcome to Lagos’ statue. He did not give it any name or title then. The concept, interpretation and everything came from me. Immediately the brief was communicated to me, my first thought was: how do people greet in the traditional mode in Lagos of those days? I went and consulted with the late Oba Adeyinka Oyekan, who gave me and even demonstrated all the modes of greetings, of especially the royalties. It is referred to as ‘Owo Awo.’ There was nothing like handshake as we have now, he enthused. He stated that any time the need arose for him to send emissaries to other royalties, government and nobles, he usually sent two or three white cap chiefs, who usually demonstrated the royal greetings, as represented by what we have, via those images. After the monarch’s briefing, I went to a tailor with the white robe, modelled out what the king had demonstrated and visually painted. I engaged a photographer to capture same, the result is what we have there today. Apart from being an artist, I am an education technology cum communication expert, and that edge was brought to bear in the interpretation of the whole thing. When the statue was officially unveiled, Raji Rasaki was impressed with the outcome. He commended me for a job well done and urged me to keep it up. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/national/bodun-sodeinde-my-physical-and-spiritual-attachment-to-welcome-to-lagos-statue/ |

REALITY101: "Now I lay me down to sleep,Nothing. It is a good prayer There is a time to be born and a time to die. "memento mori" in fact "Everyone dies, not everyone lives" God said every living soul belongs to Him the father's as well as the son's. and that the soul that sins, it shall die People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. Judgment, is the day when, the issue of immortality is finalised or which soul lives forever, is determined So that prayer, would be about, praying the Lord my soul to take, to the RIGHT holding place to reside awaiting judgment day |
