Something happened tonight. I was with my married friend and I commented on how his beard looks good on him. I asked him to keep that look then as a matter of courtsey asked the wife what she thinks. She said she likes her man clean shaven o, with everything on low-cut and no beard. The husband said but you never told me to be shaving my beards till today na. Why the sudden interest?

I laughed in my mind. I knew what went down. But lemme throw it to the house. What was the reason the wife made that statement, y'all?

Majority of Nigerian women are like this. I had an ex that only feels comfortable whenever I was broke and looking a shadow of myself. When I start picking up and looking good, She starts feeling insecure and not even hide it.


That experience you had should make you understand why many men remain struggling with little to no drive. Because the woman they foolishly love is ignorantly and selfishly contented with the way they are. Those kind of women, either wife or girlfriend can never pray for your success. They worry about your success and what happens after. They feel threatened with what you’ll do when the chip goes way up. It takes a really strong man to not let these set of women’ hold him back from conquering spaces.

Take for example a man that is lucky to get a travel opportunity abroad. Did you know some will turn down the opportunity because they do not want to leave their woman behind or their woman expressed displeasure about it.

There are some women you’ll be with, the only time they’d wish you well is when they need something from you. Trust me, it works. Not completely their prayers that works but the thought of providing for her is where the drive comes from, immediately you are able to provide her with what She needs, your needs does not matter to you or even her because She has inflicted your subconscious mind to think She loves you just the way you are and you are able to provide the basics and her needs. This keeps a lot of stupid men in poverty line. Woe betide any man that raises a family with such women. There will be no going forward because he’s blind to these and only feels good when he can provide the basics and what the woman needs. This where it gets worse, if the woman is from a poor home, and also poor in heart, sorry man!!!

My childhood was fun and a very busy one. I did a lot of work/sales with my Ma! Toughest woman I have ever known. She made me realize the human body is always at your command. It falls sick when you urge it to, it feels strong when you urge it to!


I sold banana for more than 18 years, When I started selling banana I was 5. I didn’t even know money, I got cheated on several times until my Ma started counting stones and put it close to each banana for me to know the exact amount. 10 naira banana, She will put 10 stones close to it and use a stick to demarcate it so that it doesn’t mix with the others!


I also pushed wheel burrow in the market! When Ma sends me to the market to pack her goods and bring it home, I’ll do a quickie side hustle to raise 20 naira to 50 naira. There was this day I helped one woman pack her loads, I got lost on the way, (they will direct you to their house and while they follow you but because they are old, they are not able to catch up with your pace, they get really far behind and even out of sight. I had to locate anywhere and dropped the woman’s goods there because I couldn’t locate the house She directed me to. I hurried back home. I did not know the woman knows where I stay because my Ma’s name was boldly written on the wheel burrow. 8pm while I and Ma were eating dinner, this woman showed up our gate to ask me where’s her goods! I nearly ran away. I had to leave the food I was eating and took her to where I dropped it! Ma dealt with me that night.


Ma used to buy a full loaded pickup truck of palm kernel and we process it to palm oil. It was not an easy task. I would wake up every 5am to use mortar to pound one big village pot of palm kernel! The first step is to cook the palm kernel with a big pot. We called the pot “Egele” After cooking, I’ll have to pound 6 to 7 times before getting ready for school. This usually takes more than two hours to finish pounding. Sometimes I abandon it and get ready for school to continue when I return.


My job was to pound it while my Ma does the rest of the oil processing job. 7am I’m off to school. Over several years I got tired of pounding the palm kernel because it was really stressful, Ma had to locate a palm kernel processing factory. It even became harder for me! I’ll wake up in the morning at 4 or 5am and push a full wheel burrow of palm kernel to the factory with my torch light hanging in my mouth, after grinding at the factory, I’ll push it back home which is almost 40min walk but I do spend close to 2 hours because I needed to stop and rest in between.


Then we had a room we called “Ekowa ivin” (palm kernel room). This is where we store the palm nuts After drying them in the sun over several months. I’ll start breaking them with stones to bring out the palm nut, one full rubber paint of palm nut was 250 naira. Getting the rubber paint to full takes 2 weeks to 1 month depending on how consistent I was.


After some years, Ma ventured into another business of cassava processing! I will follow the pick up truck into the bush and join the other hired laborers to uproot the cassava, load them into the truck and bring it to the house to start peeling, after peeling, I push a loaded wheel burrow to the processing factory to grind it, After grinding I’ll mix with red oil and put it inside a sack and come back for it the next day after they must have pressed all the water out of the sack with a machine set up called “Jack”


It doesn’t end there, we’ll break the lumps into smaller pieces and sieve it with a locally made sieve. My Ma fries the garri at night! No sleeping! She was very smart! For me not to fall asleep, she’ll give me a kerosene hand lamp to hold for her while She fries the garri till 2 to 3am! I hold this lamp while standing. If I dare tries to close my eyes while holding the lamp, I get woken up with a resounding slap. My ear will ring for some minutes, my eyes will become clearer. There was a day I drifted off and the lamp fell from my hand right into the garri She was frying, it mixed with kerosene!


I also sold fufu with a wheel burrow! From the same cassava processing but different method!

You know the funniest thing. We did not lack anything even if She didn’t do all these, but She always wanted to get herself and everyone busy with something. She’ll always say a woman cannot sit and do nothing!

You don't get it OP. The question is, "is the loan company operating legally or illegally?".

From legal perspective, it could be argued that, the OP withheld paying back the loan temporarily because the government (which is in charge of all financial institutions in Nigeria) has announced that loan company as illegal and banned.

Once the Loan company's licence has been duly vetted and confirmed legal, then Guy can pay back. This means the charges the GUY on the loan incurred during the time federal government labelled them to be illegal is null and void

Na the same rope tie you and the person that created that thread! Why didn’t the OP do his due check on the legality of the loan firm before collecting the loan? I bet he couldn’t think of that because of sapa! If you take loan from someone, pay up! How the person operate business is non of your business!

Think of it this way, is there someone right now that hasn’t collected loan from these loan company but is concerned about their legality? The answer is NO. It is only those that took loan from them and do not want to pay that are doing these findings just to have a reason to not repay the loan.

Let me educate you about life. This thing you are using to catch cruise can actually be your downfall!! A man that is striving to succeed in life should know that, when you owe money from any source, the urge to repay the loan is a driving factor that can make you work even harder than normal, not only to repay the loans but to liberate you from poverty and life of borrowing! If you are ignorantly denying yourself that motivating factor, you will have difficulties getting motivated in other areas of life. Just like when someone does something for you, you unconsciously feels you owe them. It is natures gift.


If you do not understand this post, go and buy alcohol, take a shot from it to increase your brain’s vibration and use it to ponder on the post. And if you want to accuse of me being their agent, I do not live in Nigeria.

Your moniker actually reminded me of our childhood!! Some people viewing this can relate very well! When we were kids, our parents warned us not to eat food from neighbors/strangers. But our parents did not follow us to our neighbors house to know if we actually ate food from them or not. We rejected food from neighbors because we were warned by our parents, while some of us ate and did not get caught, some ate and did not clean their mouth very well and also with little traces of red oil stains on their shirt, they got caught and beaten for disobeying their parents.
