Business / Re: The Igbo Apprenticeship System (nwa-boi) Is An Option For The Poor by carl90(m): 4:38pm On Apr 21
Whether it is for the poor or not, it is a system that have helped to establish many Igbo business people
However , I always advise that one go through the formal education system , as long as one have the financial support.
I am always proud that I am a graduate and passed through that particular system.
Some of our Igbo brothers and sisters are not opportuned to have the finances to go for the formal education, then they can go for the apprenticeship system ,if they find someone that can take them on.
This is far better than idling away.

Why do we like the unclothedness of women so much ?

Thanks !
Which ride-hailing do you recommend ?
Is Bolt reliable over there in PH ?
I am used to using them here in Lagos.

Go to Pakiri Hotel, is behind Charlie's fitness centre, off stadium road, close to Rumuola link Road.

quote author=carl90 post=129522377]I am based in Lagos and would be coming to Port-Harcourt for a wedding and also taking a work leave.
Someone should please recommend a good hotel that is in the safe part of Port-Harcourt (a well-secured hotel is very important pls ,free wifi and must have a swimming pool)
I would prefer Rumola-Rumuokwuta-Rumuigbo-axis of Port-Harcourt or around that zone.

Budget : #15,000-#20,000 for a night

(all well and good if I get one that is cheaper. As long as it is of good quality )

Thanks.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Senegal: Faye To Be Announced Winner As Opposition Parties Concede Defeat by carl90(m): 7:52am On Mar 26
True !
There are always military officers that always have eyes on the seat of power. However,I believe Senegal's democracy have solidified over the years that I don't really seeing a coup occurring in that country.
You can see this in the uproar that occurred when the sitting president was hesitant in fixing a date for the election that brought in Faye.
And Faye is not really an inexperienced politician.
He has been in politics for quite a long time.
I just hope he will assemble the brightest of minds in his cabinet and hit the ground running with the aim of bringing the dividends of democracy to Senegal.
sslcrypt:

This is a very valid point, his lack of experience might be an avenue for them to infiltrate. My only hope that the military sees their main duty and stay out. Also there might be an officer with desperation for power he should also keep an eye for that also.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Senegal: Faye To Be Announced Winner As Opposition Parties Concede Defeat by carl90(m): 12:40am On Mar 26
I am happy for Senegal.
This is a country that I have always admired its democracy.
Now, they have elected a young president, not some old cargo politicians that sees the Aso Rock or the white house as their retirement home.
However, I will advise the new president of Senegal to still keep his eyes on the country 's military.
Those people have eyes on the power.
I'm wishing Senegal, our beloved West Africa brother, all the best

Uzodinma is an unpopular governor.
That one is for sure.
However, what I notice is the peace in my state , Imo state.
For one, I will give kudos to Hope Uzodinma for sustaining the peace in our dear state.
For other sectors of the economy of Imo state, he needs to do more.

Business / Re: CBN Lifts FX Restrictions On Milk, Dairy Products Import To Crash Prices by carl90(m): 8:28pm On Mar 20
We don't really have much local producers of milk and other dairy products in the country.
How many companies manufacture quality milk and other dairy products in the country?
There is Chi Limited (Chivita hollandia ), Friesland (Peak milk),Dano milk producers, Promasidor(Cowbell),etc.
Not that much.
So this measure is very much expected. Of which, it should be a temporary measure.
Government should still focus on empowering more local businesses to go into dairy production.
Local production still remain key.

Agriculture / Re: Please How Much Can A 3 Acres Of Cassava Farm Generate? by carl90(m): 7:09pm On Mar 14
If we wait on government to secure our farms, there will be no more crop farming in Nigeria . Hunger is next.
We just have to be proactive and take initiatives on our own, independent of any government intervention.
If you are a business person that owns and operates a large supermarket, would you wait on government to secure your supermarket for you?
You just have to take the initiative by providing security for your supermarket e.g employing private security guards, vetting visitors that step into your supermarket etc.
We should also apply this mentality when we own a farm in present-day Nigeria.

One will not be comfortable spending all this money on an open land that will likely be ravaged by some herdsmen and their cattle.
How can one take care of these encroaching herdsmen?
Making provision for fencing one's farmland?
Shouldn't the cost of fencing be part of the cost of production?
Esude007:
Thank you my brother...

Let's continue the math

Yes it is true land fertility decrease with time, but let's not forget that you will run the soil test.

Cost of getting 12,300 heaps is ...#246,000

Cost of soil test ( if I am the one running it, #20,000

Cost of pre planting herbicide... #12,000

Cost of pre emergence herbicide.... #22,5000

Cost of viable cassava stem ( maybe Obasanjo-9 variety)..... #90,000

Cost of planting.... #123,000

Cost of post emergence herbicide( pottasum).... #40,000

Miscellaneous....#50,000

Cost of fertilizer, as cassava requires 50 to 100 kg of nitrogen, 65 to 80 kg of potassium and 10 to 20 kg of phosphorus,.... #130,000

Total...... #693,500

Note: security must tight o...... Cos fulani no get sense

Agriculture / Re: Please How Much Can A 3 Acres Of Cassava Farm Generate? by carl90(m): 2:50pm On Mar 13
Well-calculated !

Esude007:
Let's do the math, we have 2.5 acre in 1 hectare, if we plant using 1m by 1m configuration, we will have 10,000 stands, but I will advice you to use 0.9m by 0.9m to get 12,300 stands. If you follow good Agronomic practice, you can have 3kg yield per stand. 3kg * 12300.... 36900kg.

We have 1000kg in 1 tonne, so 36900kg divided by 1000kg will be 36.9 tonnes

Going by the current price in the market, 1 tonne of fresh cassava tuber is #65,000, that give us...... #2,398,5000

Thanks

Politics / Re: What Does Crypto Contribute To The Economy by carl90(m): 10:49am On Feb 22
100% on point!

spiSeyi:
1 Employment (trading crypto assets is a means of employment and most crypto exchange employs more citizens to manage their platforms)
2 It attracts foreign investment (if the nation crypto markets is growing it can attracts foreign investors like Coin desk, and other notable firms).
3 High inflow of FX (The more crypto assets we hold the more the inflow of FX)
4 High liquidity of funds for loan through DeFi loans ( you can obtain loan on DeFi platforms with no third party and less interest)
5 Block chain solution can be used to fix some of the nations problem (supply chain, insecurity, distribution of palliatives, elections, e.t.c)
6 It will ease the pressure on foreign currency, Nigerians holding crypto assets can pay their trade partners in crypto instead of looking for scarce USD.
Banning crypto platforms has no effect on stoping the Naira from a free fall, PMB did the same and all efforts were frutai. The only way to save the economy is to diversify the economy, fix insecurity, electricity, reduce VAT and increase import duties to encourage local production then give tax incentives in the short term to encourage foreign investors.
Crypto has no negative effect on economy, it's only clueless government who sees crypto has a threat

Informative write-up !
Still, I have to mention the role of drop-shippers in a transaction. Drop-shippers may not have the item. However, they have the connection to a genuine seller that have the item.
There is nothing wrong been a middleman in a transaction, whether online or in the physical business word.

Properties / Re: I Want To Retaliate Against My Landlord In Lagos by carl90(m): 11:17am On Feb 10
Well communicated !

It is issues like this that should make government look into monthly payment or quarterly payment of house rent in all states of the country.
These yearly payment of house rent can be used by the landlord to take advantage of tenants.
You pay that annual rent and the landlord and family would turn to some oppressor.
They will be on their toes if tenants pay monthly or quarterly.

ceasare:
OP there is no where in Lagos state law that says you will live rent free for 6months
No b build house for the landlord and don't be deceive by naysayers

Ur best bet is repair d fixes pass d bil to d landlord for refund or be deducted from ur subsequent rent if u are renewing

If u r not renewing when u r 6months into ur rent start looking for somewhere else to relocate.if d landlord is a stubborn person he will get justice for months spent after expiration of ur rent and get ur belongings confiscated by the court and dispose for him to get his rent.

Nothing u want to do with wahala.if u r not down with d house js leave or see ur rent through and move on.
Note :there is a new law in d works in Lagos to dispense landlord/tenant issues in a month or thereabout.so u cant spend six months and vanish into thin air before justice is dispensed
