HealthRe: Chewing Sticks Are Better Than Toothbrushes - Dentist by Carsonv(m): 1:42pm On Oct 31, 2013
This guy's license should be taken from him. Do we get chewing stick from only one kinda tree? Abi all trees contain 'tannin'?

And who told him that our grandmothers and fathers have better teeth than us? Take a stroll to the villages...the dentition you'd see would make you lose appetite for 7days. Ranging from brackish green to downright black!

Na dis kind mentality make Africa dey behind. When others were looking for electricity, we said to ourselves that 'palm tree lamp"(or wateva u natives call it smiley) was better.

Circus show! *totally disinterested*

But naija journalist can just fall hands eh

[b] The residents, who claimed that only
a section of Dickson’s building was
demolished, said the exercise was a
strategy to enable the government to
demolish buildings of perceived
opponents without causing public
outrage. [b]

So the journalist couldn't even try to verify the residents' claim? How do we know the truth now?

Is it mandatory that people must post comments here? This thread has been abused with hearsays. An insider here, an outsider there! Some of these insiders might just be ppl who know people who know people that knows the gateman.

This is sick please. Speculations won't solve anything, it'll only heighten anticipation. That's the last thing your heart needs now. The cholesterol you give it daily is already enough hardwork.

Just chilax, take a chill pill, and when these guys are ready they'll call you.

My million billion dollar opinion! Thank me later

Bhydemi: Please when u are given ur case to do ur findings, How many minutes is given to do that, then are we allowed to do our research on the mobile fone (internet)
You don't need the internet for anything...nobody will stop you though, but time. Everything you need to lies between the paper given to you and your brain.

If you can work with these two, you're good to go! Time is of essence! You'll never know how short 20minutes can be till you attend the Assessment Centre.

My advice to y'all....use a mobile device!

I tried to use my laptop and after 30minutes not a single page was able to load.

I went back to my Blackberry (however slow and constantly freezing it is cry ) and the site was able to load on it.

GustavoFring: Any Nigerian who comes here to claim Nigerians are not Internet scammers is a hypocrite of the highest order.

As if Yahoo Yahoo was not the biggest industry on University Campuses.

As if Maga don pay and Yahoozee did not top the music charts.

As if most of us don't know at least one Yahoo boy.

As if Cybercafes were not known to be scam factories.

Some of you people perform some serious mental gymnastics to hide the truth from yourselves!
Thank you for your RIGHT use of tenses! It's in the PAST (TENSE). Only a handful of young Nigeria are still into internet scam. Infact, it's no longer attractive to anyone. Ur uncle Cruz should not make statements that make it look like a bloodline heritage.

Afterall, we're still suffering the scam they playout daily on us through our leaders.

The bigot should just apologize!
PoliticsRe: US Senator Seeks Peace Meeting With Nigerians Over 419 Comments by Carsonv(m): 8:15am On Oct 30, 2013
2legit2qwt: I receive the damn scam emails all the time from the Nigerian 419s, it ain't like we ain't guilty. We are known for online scams same way Italians are known for being mafians.

Why can't this Nigerian American group channel the same energy towards making Nigerian government/people perform rather than trying to cover up an already tarnished image. We created the reputation and we are the only one to make it right, not Mr Ted Cruz..Misplaced priorities again undecided
And how sure are you that the mails originated from a Nigerian? Yes! Some Nigerians have created the reputation of internet scammers...but not all internet scam is perpetrated by a Nigerian.

It's simple logic!

So profiling (all) internet scammers as Nigerians is wrong and deserve an apology.

You should listen to Chimamanda's TED Talk. She explains properly the impact of such statement especially coming from someone like Ted Cruz.

For those having problems with pdf conversion, here's a simpler way if you got an internet connection and Word 2007 version.

Goto Save As, click on "Save in Other Format". You should be taken to the microsoft documentation page on the net. Else work your way through it. Download the pdf plugin from Microsoft. Get it installed. Voila! U can now save to pdf on ur 2007 version of Office. And u still have the raw file to install on any other pc u wish.

Life's Good!!!

blazerMaks: house, can i reduce the size of my cv in pdf please ?
What's the size of your CV because if you created it with MS Word, it shouldn't need reduction. But if it does, try the following:

1. Reduce/Remove any special content like pictures, graphic editing and templates rich in colour. These can take quite some space.

2. If you're saving from MS Word, just on the window where you have to type the file name you'll see options like "standard pdf" and "minimised for web blah blah blah". Choose the latter.

vivichocs: I don't know why no one has a good info as regards those still serving, instead they r being hostile...Is there anything bad in asking if one can apply with id card? Cos definitely d recruitment ll take months to conclude and by then they may have their cert...abi una wan chop d jobhuh Be your brother's keeper for once....if you hv no usefl Info, just ignore d post Instead of saying something harsh..
I was still serving when I applied for FBN job...and completing your service was compulsory for this. In this kinda situations, don't expect anyone to tell you what to do or how to do it...caveat emptor.
If you have a way to get past that, then do it. Nobody will penalise you for applying.

But my opinion, don't use d ID, look for some other nysc related document...probably your callup letter. But just apply. Not as if you're paying for the application. I also applied for ptdf scholarship during my service year...had to draft a letter of explanation. Lol. Didn't get shortlisted though. But for me not applying is worse than not getting shortlisted.

Do what you have to do but don't expect too much.

I love songs that are filled with metaphors. Frank Ocean is one helluva singer. Y'all should try him sometimes...
Music/RadioRe: What Does Your Taste In Music Say About Your Intelligence? by Carsonv(m): 6:25pm On Oct 23, 2013
There's a correlation between the your preference for music and your level of intelligence. People who listen to music that is mostly artistic both in lyrics and in soundtrack tend to have a more intuitive, critical and intelligent disposition. While people that listen to music with superficial lyrics, lacklustre sound tend not to have very critical and intuitive mind...not necessarily untintelligent!

People who look out for the artistic content of music than at the 'entertainment' aspect usually show more signs of intelligence! Now what intelligence really means is highly debatable.

It does not however mean a genre is more 'intellectual' than the other. Recently rap is getting my poetic than jazz!

For me I listen to good music...from jazz to rap, soul, r n b, pop, classic, reggaeton,...but never TerryG and whoever and whatever represents that kinda music!

I believe that what you listen to is product of what you're made of inside!

blink182: PHCN has only been handed to investors in paper not physically. How can such an ignorant thread make the front page. Na wa o!
Before you quickly spill your intelligent brain untintelligently, knowledge demands you read everything about the thread before you comment. The op is not blaming the investors you nimrod!

If you're observant enough you'd have known that there are twp causes of erratic power supply, inadequate power and phcn worker sabotage. I'm beaming the spotlight on the latter.

Listen before you speak...or more appropriately, READ before you TYPE!

rozayx5: another Thread with Political undertone, how would you expect results immediately huh
There's no political undertone anywhere. You should have atleast read my first post. I'm not laying the blame on GEJ but suggesting it could be as a result of sabotage from the 'dissolved' PHCN staff. Probably because the govt haven't paid them off.

By the way, we're supposed to expect improvement very soon because most of the power projects have their conclusions this year and part of next year.
PoliticsWhat's The Power Supply Situation In Your Area Since The Handover Of PHCN? by Carsonv(op): 10:30pm On Oct 16, 2013
I noticed that since the official handover of the unbundled PHCN utilities to investors, power supply in my area has gone from Good to Worst! We go three days straight without power supply. This is in sharp contrast to the 22hours of power we used to enjoy not too long ago!

Right now, I don't know if it's a mechanical or human problem? Are those PHCN workers sabotaging us because some of them haven't received their severance pay?

What's the power supply situation in your area at the moment?
