Tears came to Roli's eyes. "Why didn't you let me know this years ago? I was really impressed by you and wanted to date you but I couldn't get you to talk. I didn't know what to think. Ike, I'm sorry I affected you that way and caused such a problem." "It wasn't anything you did. It was all my stupidity and insecurity. I can't tell you how thrilled I was when I walked in the door tonight and saw you. My heart actually stopped, I think." "Ike, we have time to catch up." "But I don't want this to be temporary. I don't know whether I can ever let you go after this. It would probably hurt me more than if we never re-connected in the first place. I lost you once when you graduated, I don't want to relive that misery." "Now it's my turn to lay it all out there. I have always wanted to date as many guys as possible. All were only for a day or two. It was fun and I learned something from every one. I enjoyed my effect on guys and I took full advantage of it. I didn't want to be tied down. My plan was to get serious at finding the right man after graduation and after I returned to work in my dad's investment business. Dad wants me to eventually take over that business and I wanted to wait until I returned there to find the right guy. I graduate in June. But I'm willing to take a chance on you if you are with me." "Are you saying we have until June?" "No, if we're a match and there's no reason to believe we're not, I'll wait for you while I learn dad's business. We can see each other frequently during that year; it's only about six hours away by car." "Roli, I'm very concerned about beginning our relationship with a sex video. I'm scared it'll hurt my chances with you for the long term. I'm not that experienced and I'll not meet your expectations." "Ike, guys want to have sex with me because they think I'm sexy. Sex gets old in a hurry if that's all there is in the relationship. I think there's going to be much more to our relationship than sex." "Can we start down that road and make sure that's the case? Can we refrain from sex until we build on our relationship?" Roli stared at him and realized that he was much wiser than she. Sex isn't the way to begin a relationship and has never been. It's the result of a loving relationship, not the cause of one. "You're right, Ike. Let's begin at the beginning. Can you stay with me tonight and let's start getting to know each other. No sex, I promise." "You want me to sleep with you but not touch you?" "That's not what I'm saying. You can touch me. I want to kiss you right now, in fact. But we'll not have intercourse until we both agree our relationship is at that point." "You can't imagine how good this makes me feel. You're saying I really do have a chance with you." Roli stood, turned and sat in his lap. They kissed, first with lips closed, and then with tongues flicking tip to tip. As their mouths opened a little wider, their tongues jousted as their passion slowly built. Roli and Ike hugged and gazed at each other, both realizing that this was a beginning and both hoping that it was for real. For the first time in her young life, Roli felt this might be the man. It was something she wanted to experience eventually; it just wasn't expected this soon. Full story available @ https://publish.okadabooks.com/book/about/scents_of_lust/30175 |

The late former Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, is one of those still listed as aides to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), weeks or months after they have vacated their seats either through death or replacement, Saturday PUNCH reports. A check on the website of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Friday showed that Kyari was still on the updated list of political appointees over a month after he died due to complications arising from COVID-19. Kyari died on April 17 and has since been replaced by Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, whose appointment was confirmed by the SGF, Boss Mustapha, on May 13. Over a week after the announcement, Kyari still occupies the fourth position on the list, coming after Buhari; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; and Mustapha. Another person still on the list is Prof. Charles Dokubo, who was suspended as the Special Adviser to the President/Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme in February. Dokubo, who was appointed on March 13, 2018, was suspended based on the recommendation of the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno. He is still occupying third position on the list of special advisers to the President. The PUNCH had, in an exclusive report published on November 16, 2019, noted that some government officials who had been replaced and a late official still made the updated list of political appointees. Six months after that report, no effort was made to update the list which is conspicuously displayed on the website. For instance, the late Tijjani Yusuf is still on the list of special assistants. He is listed as Special Assistant to the President on General Duties. The Presidency had in a July 3, 2019 statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced Yusuf’s death. Also still on the list is a former Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla. He was listed as the Special Assistant to the President on (Prosecution), Federal Ministry of Justice. After his sacking as the SPIP chairman, the Presidency, again through a September 17, 2019 press statement by Adesina, announced the dissolution of the panel. His name still appeared on the list despite winning an election to represent his people during the 2019 general elections. Also curiously in the list are the names of two official photographers for the Vice-President. Novo Isioro was still listed as the Special Assistant to the President (Visual Communication), Office of the VP, despite the fact that the lady appointed on August 12, 2017, had since stopped working with the Presidency. https://punchng.com/kyari-another-late-official-others-still-listed-as-buharis-aides/?amp=1 |
44 days after 15 Chinese doctors purportedly arrived in Nigeria to help in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has said the doctors’ mission in Nigeria is not to treat coronavirus cases. The company in a statement on Friday, May 22, 2020, said the medical experts since their arrival in Nigeria have not treated any coronavirus patients because their mandate in the country does not cover that. The CCECC further said the medical team has assisted in setting up isolation centres and has provided support to the company’s staff on how to prevent the virus. The company, however, added that the doctors are willing to share their experiences on fighting the pandemic with Nigerian health officials. The statement reads in part, “After a 14-day quarantine and necessary tests, the medical team has been carrying out its assigned mission. “The medical personnel are in Nigeria at the instance of CCECC Nigeria and they have been at all times under the care and accommodation of CCECC “During their stay in Nigeria, they have complied with all known immigration and health protocols. “It is important to reiterate that the mandate of the team, as mutually agreed with all stakeholders, does not cover treatment of COVID-19 cases. The team is therefore not treating any COVID-19 cases. In dealing with both the CCECC and the Nigerian health officials, the team only play an advisory role. “They would continue to engage with CCECC management and staff will always be willing to engage with Nigerian health officials and other stakeholders whenever and wherever it is necessary to do so.” Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the doctors recently caused a controversy in the country as the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire told journalists not to ask him about the medical team. https://www.pulse.ng/news/local/ccecc-chinese-doctors-arent-in-nigeria-to-treat-coronavirus/nvmvrgb |
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the Divisional Police Officer, Ilemba Hausa Division, Yahaya Adesina, for allegedly shooting one of the police personnel attached to the station, Sergeant Onajide Onalaja, while dispersing a crowd in the Ilemba Hausa area of the state. This is just as the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a probe of the allegation by Onalaja’s family that Adesina shot dead the cop and attempted to conceal the crime. Initially, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said two fake/deserter soldiers, Kehinde Elijah, 45, and Ezeh Joseph, were arrested in connection with Onalaja’s killing, adding that investigation was ongoing. However, in a follow-up reaction on Tuesday, Elkana said Odumosu had ordered the Officer-in-Charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Yetunde Longe, to take over the case and conduct a neutral investigation to unravel the true circumstances surrounding Onalaja’s death. The deceased’s wife, Folasade, had urged the police authorities to relieve the DPO of his duty pending the outcome of the investigation. In a statement on Thursday, Elkana said Adesina had been arrested and was being detained at the SCIID following reports that he shot the sergeant while dispersing the crowd that gathered in front of the station. He also stated that Adesina’s rifle had been retrieved, adding that the command had ordered an autopsy to be carried out on Onalaja’s corpse. Similarly, the command also confirmed the arrest of an inspector attached to the Ikotun Police Division, Charles Okoro, for allegedly shooting dead a cleric, Fatai Oladipupo, in the Obabayi area of Ikotun. PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident happened on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, around 10.05pm. The Federal Government has spent about N10 trn subsidising petroleum products in the last 15 years, the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria has said. MOMAN and other stakeholders, including the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, said there was a need for full deregulation in the petroleum downstream sector. They stated this on Thursday during the Nigeria Petroleum Downstream Consultative Summit, which was held online. The Chairman, MOMAN, Mr Adetunji Oyebanji, described the downstream sector as pivotal and fundamental to the health of the nation’s economy. Oyebanji is the managing director/chief executive officer of 11Plc (formerly Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc). He said, “It is an industry that requires significant investment to improve service delivery and to generate emploiyment, to help expand and grow the economy, especially at this very trying time. “We believe that full and total deregulation with appropriate standards and regulation in terms of consumer protection is the way to go. We believe that we need to work with the government to achieve this at the soonest possible time.” According to him, there are adequate structures that can be put in place to ensure that the consumers are not cheated when market forces are allowed to determine prices. Oyebanji said, “We are all interested in the future of the country as stakeholders. But we need to make the right policy decisions at the appropriate time. Nigeria cannot, as we know, continue to subsidise fuel. https://punchng.com/n10tn-spent-on-fuel-subsidy-in-15-years-marketers/ |

Dirty, dirty politics game. |
Briefly, I remembered one of the idioms I had thought. It was the famous one made by Julius Caesar. I had certainly crossed the Rubicon. Go ahead, I muttered. She stuck it in her mouth. Like a lollipop, she licked it with relish, making some plopping sounds. Some minutes later, I could not resist the hold. I came up with an explosive climax, spurting out semen. She directed my dick on the ground, so all those releases messed the floor. She cleaned up herself and the mess. Some minutes later, I left the house. As I walked towards the exit gate of the estate, my phone rang. It was Madam Clementina. "Good evening, madam', I greeted. 'Good evening, Mayo. How's the lesson going on? How are my daughters faring?" What a million-dollar question. There was no way I would tell her that we spent one hour for the lesson and the second hour to do ungodly things. "Lesson is going on well, ma'am", I answered. "How about them? Are they cooperating?" Oh, they were more than cooperating, I thought grimly. 'Surely, they are cooperating madam." "Alright. If any of them is not cooperating, let me know. You must teach them very well and they must pass their exams with flying colors this time. They must excel in all their subjects." "There's no problem, ma'am," I answered quickly. "They will surely pass this time around." "Okay. Well done." "Yes, maam." I whistled softly to myself after she disconnected the line. If this woman ever got to know what I was doing with her daughters, I knew I would be in a big, big trouble. I consoled myself that she would never get to know. After all, Martha and Maggie were not kids. Would they be so reckless as to reveal such an act? Would they naively go on to let the cat out of the bag? The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has asked professional groups and faith-based organisations, including churches and mosques, to submit guidelines for reopening to the NCDC to review and advise. He spoke during a press conference of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Thursday. “This is what we’ve been advising every society, organisation, community, be it faith-based, cultural-based, professionally based, to come up with guidelines for themselves. We are happy to advise and engage, but this needs to be led and owned by the leaders of those organisations,” he said. The NCDC DG added that every stakeholder in society needed to take responsibility for the part it owned and managed. He said the centre had received a draft of guidelines by the Public Transport Owners of Nigeria Association to reopen interstate transportation while preventing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. He urged other organisations and communities to come up with similar guidelines to expedite the process of safely reopening the economy. Ihekweazu said, “I was happy yesterday to receive a new set of draft guidelines by the Public Transport Owners of Nigeria Association. Those are people that manage the long-distance buses that travel across the country, what we call ‘luxury’ buses. “They had drafted their guidelines for reopening safely and sent it to us for review and to advise them on the measures they are now recommending on how to manage their loading centres, buses and engagements with their customers at the point when we may allow them to reopen." http://saharareporters.com/2020/05/22/nigerian-government-asks-churches-mosques-others-submit-guidelines-reopening |

The immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, says the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has endorsed an agreement that Governor Godwin Obaseki and Rotimi Akeredolu of Edo and Ondo states respectively be returned for second term unless they do not wish to continue in office. The PUNCH reports that governorship election is scheduled to hold in Edo State on September 19 while that of Ondo State is slated for October 10. Obaseki and Akeredolu, who are both members of the APC are first-term governors, and have expressed interest in second term in office. Odigie-Oyegun, in an advertorial published in some national newspapers on Thursday, said he was aware that Buhari had endorsed that the two governors be given right of first refusal. He, however, said since democracy did not encourage imposition, the party must also accept and present governorship aspirants. He said, “I also welcome most warmly the news that Mr President has firmly endorsed the agreement reached to settle the disruptive leadership crisis at the national level that was threatening the very existence of the APC. “The immediately relevant part of the agreement was that both the governors – Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki of Edo State and Mr Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN of Ondo State have performed creditably and should be returned unless they do not so wish. “This means that the party, in unity, should organise to support the return of both governors. “Our democracy of course has no room for imposition, so the party must accept and also present members that offer themselves to serve in the positions being occupied by the incumbent governors.” https://punchng.com/buhari-endorsed-obaseki-akeredolu-for-second-term-says-odigie-oyegun/
