The sentence is too harsh. Life sentence would have been appropriate. No judge should have the power to sentence to death. That's the same as having power to kill. All men are sinners, so no one should have power to condemn to death. Only GOD can kill. He sure did'nt ask us to kill her for HIM. If he wants her dead he can surely do it himself. Life sentence is ok. hmm We are still in barbaric days. |

I have heard of people stabbed in London, the emergency ambulance couldn’t save them. A lot of people die here even with all the facilities they cannot be save. In everything my brother, na God get power. Woe is he that put his trust in man says the bible. I have been harassed one night @ about 11-12pm coming back from church in a place called catford. Two black guys wanted to collect my hand bag. They probably felt it was loaded with valuables. What was the most disturbing things wasn’t the guys but the people around the bus stop who saw everything going on and didn’t help me. They were busy minding their business as if they don’t care. If They were waiting for me to be stabbed before they called the police I don’t know. I just acted like I had a knife with me under my trouser and made a move like I want to bring it out and they fled. Smartness/ street sense saved me that day. My opinion is that life is more than emergency service, economy etc. Who will die will die, and who will live will live. Death is everywhere. Even your food can kill you. A lady came here and worked illegally for about 10 years and fighting for papers and hussling hard. She got her papers in the 11th year and had cancer in the 12th year. She died 3 yrs after that. Someone may say if she was in Nigeria she wouldn’t have had a good medical care for the cancer. Well maybe if she had stayed back she wouldn’t have had cancer at all. Man’s life is insignificant. We place so much thought trying to control our existence. All that doesn’t matter. For me, What is important is that wherever you are be happy. So what we all need is not to live abroad but to have money. Money can make a village a paradise. So if it is to come here and make money it is ok. sentra05: Ladies and gentlemen, there is no right or wrong opinion when it comes to leaving Nigeria, we all see things differently. What is wrong is always using money as a yardstick for everyone who wants to leave the country. Not everyone sees being a millionaire as an achievement.
I used to be anti abroad those days. The way some of you criticize people wanting to relocate abroad is also what i do at that time. I remember when my brother first asked me to relocate, i remember asking him what he has achieved that i have not achieved while in Nigeria. I was a lucky chap, graduated and got a good job immediately and started making good money at young age. At mid 20s, i had my ride, bought lands and already building. To me at that time everything was money and i was making it.
However, as i started traveling out of the country on visit, Nigeria started annoying me because of her state. Yes,individually we have money than a lot of people abroad but then the country cannot measure up to those countries in all indices. Anyway, i was not still convinced of relocating abroad but one incident made my mentality change forever.
One faithful night around 12.15 am, my friend who was out of town on a business trip called me with his voice shaking. Reason; his pregnant wife is having serious issues and she needs to be taken to the hospital immediately. His wife is one of those women whose pregnancy is always full of complications and that is why her mother is always living with her during the period.
During this period, there was security issues in the area as we keep hearing gunshots every night, so the whole area was tensed. So when my friend needed my help take his wife to the hospital that night, i and my wife was scared to move out that night for fear of the unknown even though there were 4 ready cars (I had 2, my friend had 2 cars). As i got to his house ( we were neighbors separated by a fence), his wife was crying but scared to move out at that time.
In order to dodge going out at that time, i called a doctor i know to come and attend to her ( I thought i was sharp guy), the doctor said the best thing is to take her to the hospital and at that point,i had no choice than to drive her to the hospital as it was now a matter of life and death and i won't forgive myself if she dies, i had to take the risk.
Just before we are about to enter the car, she told us to wait, that she is getting some relief and that the pains are reducing. Lo and behold, 5 minutes after, she said she was okay and she didn't need to go again till morning. I guess the fear of those gunshots made her well by force. i told her to call her husband, my friend so that he will know it is his wife's decision. That was how i escaped going out that night.
When i was telling my cousin abroad what happened, he just downplayed the issue. He said " You should have just called 911 and they will send an ambulance and police if there is a security threat in your area in 5 minutes. You didn't need to carry someone who needs an emergency care in an ordinary car to the hospital, it is the job of an ambulance as they would be attending to her even before she gets to the hospital. In an emergency, one minute of medical care can make a difference. what if she dies on the road inside your car?"
At this point,it dawned on me that the money and cars we claim to have will have been useless in a very serious emergency situation. It was after this incident, i started making concrete plans to relocate until i did and i am enjoying life here even though i am not yet making the kind of money i was making in Nigeria but i know i will get there. See guys,i will take a working system and infrastructure over being a millionaire in a shithole, i am telling you from experience from both world. |

For anyone expecting loyalty from a woman that you have not married in the court or paid her bride price is very crazy of you. As long as you have not done the same she is free to do what she likes with her body anyway she sees fit. Boyfriend and Girlfriend is not a legal binding contract, so the idea of 'She cheated on me is nonsense'. I am married though, I take care of my wife's financial and emotional needs, we plan our future together and share our kids, plus good time and bad times; therefore she owes me a duty to be faithful to me and I to her. I see most people on this thread expecting a woman to be faithful, on what ground Unless you pay her house rent, cloth her, feed her, and meet her needs you don't have the right to demand faithfulness. It is mostly unheard of for a married woman who her husband is taking good care of to cheat. Some married women may cheat, but it is just 10% and there would be underlying cause that have been ignored in the home for a long time. For any other relationship is just a game, i.e the reason you find most girls cheat - Most do it to step up, while men do it for fun. If your gf cheat on you it must be with someone she feel/ rates better than you.-- Step up. |

Most Nigerians want to work in a corporate establishment. The corporate world cannot employ everybody and that is what many youth who keep pursuing one degree or another should know. From bsc -> msc -> phd. The situation is getting worst and will go further that way because of ICT and the use of machines to replace human workers. Most graduates would prefer to earn 60k naira a month working in a bank than to buy a bus of 600k - 1million driving within a state making 200k + a month, because they will be ashamed to be called bus driver. But these ones will travel abroad and drive taxi, and carry oyibo poo, or sweep road.
The economy is a capitalist system, and private sector driven. It will pay you better to do your own thing. You can never be rich working for someone. Start small, invest in your own niche. No matter how small.
Also, everyone is not destined to be rich. Jesus said the poor you will always have. So the poor will never depart from the earth. Take life easy, do what you can and leave the rest to the universe. We are insignificant being. When you fly 30k feet above sea level in an airplane, look down you see how small we are. Man is worm.
Look inward to that thing God has given to you that you do better than anyone else easily without effort. Now that thing, is the purpose of your existence and what you are planted on earth to add to the living. Do it with all your strength and heart even if you feel it won’t make you rich. |
Health › Re: I'm Suspecting My Girlfriend Has Given Me HIV by casperuk(m): 10:54pm On Apr 08, 2019 |
There are many factors that determines HIV transmission.i.e The Viral load of the host, if you were up or down. (whoever is down has more risk of contacting it) Did you do anal (high risk). There is a 1:2500 chance to contact hiv for men circumcised, and 1:2000 chance for females. The chances greatly reduces for anal to 1:75 chance.(1:75 is times of penetration.) so 1 round of sex with an hiv infected woman lasting 10 minutes may not be more than 500x you pumped in and out. So this is why you can have sex with an HIV infected person and not contact it. Also there is a drug that you can take before having sex with someone who has HIV and you wont be infected (PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)) (taken at least 2 hours before match then daily, with a further 3 days after the last rump). Also if you had unprotected sex with someone within 72 hours of contact, and the person is a high risk individual, or you know they have HIV with a high viral load, you can also take PEP for 28 days and It prevents HIV 90%. But If it is prescribed in Nigeria or readily available I don't know. Go do a blood test! |

Oga, Pls show some respect. The fact that we are talking on public forum doesnt mean you should be rude. Having made me to waste my precious time to calculate your figures, now here you go. 5,558,503.76 - 700,000.00 = 4,858,503.76 N.B 700,000 is deducted from the figures as it would'nt be compounded with the balance carried forward for the 2nd of April. It will feature from the 3rd. 4,858,503.76 X 13.02% (which was the rate as at 2nd April) = 63,257,718.9552 (63,257,718.9552 / 100) / 365 = 1733.088 As you can see from the calculations above 1,733 and 1,770.78 are close. Although the interest you are paid is higher, I believe I would have been able to reconcile the amount if I had data on interest paid to you on 1 April. needful: If you are close to me, I could have given u a big slap. Now take a look, thomas

I meant to say that the decimals and rounding up of figures could cause such a large margin when I tried to reconcile his figures. He said he has 5,550,000 there is no way that is true as I know he must have rounded it up. Hence I am saying that 1770 (also a rounded up figure) is close to 1900 (my rounded up estimation) comprehende? 234ng44uk: What are you talking about? The guy was paid 1770 and you said it's close to 1900 therefore "the calculation is quite right". I don't understand how 1770 is close to 1900. |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by casperuk(m): 7:52pm On Apr 04, 2019 |
I think the calculation is quite right. The calculation is close. It is compounded @ x percent daily. so that is 5,550,000 x 13.01(today's rate) / 100 then ---> ans/365(days) to get the daily rate. from your figures, I calculated your pay to be about 1,900 naira approx that particular day, from a total account balance of 5,550m. but even at that I know your figure might be rounded up, hence difference. So follow my method above and recalculate. NB. you will have to add 1900 to the 5.550m to calculate it next day as we are compounding daily I use stanbic MMF too. needful: Stanbic is the worst. I have 5.550m with them and all I got was 1770. They are not even anywhere close to what they posted. Well I do not blame them, let treasury bill rate rise and I will quietly move my fund, rubbish. |

You also need to convince the VO too.
But in my honest opinion, I would suggest that you go alone first and come back for them after one year when you would have fully settled in.
I also have a backup plan if it becomes too difficult to take my son at the initial stage.

I couldn't help laughing when I read your post. Not at your pain really, but the way you have expressed your challenges in a humorous manner. It is written in the bible 'Man born into this world is full of trouble.' Everyone have their trouble in life, no one exempted. Not everyone share their pain.' So if you look through Instagram you will think your case is too bad. Am in the UK, money is not my problem but depression from loneliness, and pressure to stay faithful to my God and wife in the face of so much hot chicks around. I have struggled in the face of temptation to bleep both married, cougars, single mothers and single ladies. Many will say that's nothing, but those things are important to me. Cheers. The Lord is your strength; Take it as this is your portion at this time from God. Life has up and down turns, and you know where you are now. *Although not about Buhari, posted for, to comfort you* densel: Seeing this topic gave me tears and goose bumps. Are you ready to read? The new sheriff in town came in and sales dropped from 100 to 60 to 30 to 10 to 7 to 0. Yes 0 sales for 3 consecutive months then 7 PC's the month after and another 0 for 3 consecutive months again.
My woes: 2017 Couldn't pay rent no more. Sold off the car to fix just one room in our uncompleted building. Moved into a sandy house. Son dropped out of school, we couldn't feed, my dad would give me 3k weekly, wifey was pregnant. We all started looking malnorished.(tears rolling down my chick)
2018: Stayed at home jobless for the better part of 2 year. Hire a 2 by 4 shop to sell 2nd hand shoes. Borrowed 100k from cooperative to pay 12k monthly for 10 months in the tick of the recession. Frustration set in when the shoes didn't sell and began to spoiled one by one in my shop. In frustration, l abandoned the shoes + 6 months rent to my landlady.
Borrowed 400k this time to buy a bus T4 Volkswagen product nija used. Drove it myself. It worked for 2 months (or so l thought). Eventually wanted to send my to my early grave. It will produce 9k and gulp double the amount, produce 4k and gulp 15. At a point it stopped bringing in money for 3 months and instead set my back by 100k in debts. Again frustration came knocking. I had enough when it kept me resuming by 8am in a mechanic work shop and retiring by 7pm like a banker for good 14 days. I quit. Sold it for half the price..... 200k. Debts deepened..... neck deep in debts......emotional now.....can't continue..... sorry
I didn't add that my only achievement in Buhari's 4 years was giving birth to a healthy baby. Remembered how much we prayed not to have a deformed baby due to acute malnutrition. Imagine a family of three plus baby in the womb managing 3k in 7 days.

I send 800k monthly as savings on top the 10 million in a mutual fund. I give my wife 100k monthly for food etc. She is a good woman tho. My fear is that in returning home, I may never find the opportunity to earn as much as I am currently earning. Whichever way you look at it, it is either sacrificing the time with my children to make money, or to go home and be with them. I cannot have both. Moreover I am home sick. lol Contumely: I like the dude. He sounds so informed.
He gives them 800k monthly. Like he gives all his earnings.
That's huge sacrifice. I wonder why you have to be doing that given that you aren't aristo, an athlete or artiste.
And it's as if no investment was factored in the 800k. If yes, then I am afraid, you acted badly.
Doesn't she earn at all?
How could they be spending 800k monthly while you toil in the cold. That's extravagance and profligacy.
Some salary earners in naija dont earn upto 800k in 2 years.

I don't believe getting a visa to the United States, Europe, or Asia would be a problem. The UK Home Office only share their visa database with the Irish embassy. The shenanigan visa system is different. Names are only flagged up when there is a criminal record on the europol database which they share to track terrorists and criminals not visa over-stayers. Well nevertheless, I fell out of status not longer than one month a ago, I have been legal all these time. My wife is currently doing her Masters in Law in Nigeria. Getting a Non immigrant visa maybe a huddle for the uk and Ireland, but not for other countries. Voluntary return is not deportation or administrative removal. There are also other countries that have a point based immigration system, I believe I will also be able to qualify if I meet their point. Such systems are fairer than other immigration systems that grant too much power to the discretion of the ECO, where If they don't like your face they can say no. I will be ban for 2 - 5 years for a UK visa, but that's it. I can return for a PHD if I so opt after the ban on a student visa as it is a based point system. If you meet the point they will be issued the visa. BarristerAlarig: Well, I did ask you to come back home.
I am just saying I won't. But if you decide to come back, forget about visas to those countries I mentioned( and maybe throw in Japan). It will be extremely difficult to get a visa. I personally believe you'd need at lest 5years with very good prospect ( well paying job, family, investment, politics etc) to get a visa because as soon as you are thumb printed before boarding, all your data is stored and all of the above listed countries have access to it.
Alternatively, Madam can enter Canada/Germany or HUNGARY with the kids on a student visa( I am assuming she is a graduate)
Then you come back to Nigeria to start a business while she files to have you join her. I am sure this plan will work. |

Thanks for your contribution. I am more of the opinion to return some time in the year. I have seen everything here and have travelled to almost all cities in the UK, honestly there is no big deal here. People die in the UK everyday as well as in Nigeria. Life is the same everywhere, to me it's just a matter of perspective. If Buhari is kicked back next week to Kastina, I will have more hope to return *lol*. Anyway I am a Python programmer and Web Developer. BarristerAlarig: We should all no that irrespective of what advice is offered here,OP doesn't qualify unless he comes back to Nigeria. Here are my opinion;
Firstly, OP CANNOT apply for a visa in a foreign country without a permit. So applying from the UK to Germany or other countries is technically impossible.
Secondly, Getting a visa to western countries ( Especially the US,Canada, Australia, New Zealand and EU member countries) will be almost impossible. This countries share immigration data. How can OP proves he won't violate the terms of a visa if given if he has previously violated his British Visa
Thirdly, I think the OP should comeback home( I can't believe I just said this) but this is dependent on how OP situation is and how he feels. Left to me, I will choose to remain in the UK . Nothing dy Nigeria oo. Don't be deceived. We way day wan run comot.
Fourthly, you could invest some of the money like others have suggested. I have heard owning a Water packaging company is profitable. But what do I know??
Finally, if OP decides to return home, don't be quick to apply for a visa to the above listed countries. One year is small and doesn't prove anything. |

Thanks very much for taking your time to respond. Your response was brilliant! greatnaija01: ME CANDID ADVICE
To your arguments:
1. Will my voluntary return have a negative impact on gaining any of the visas to the countries i mentioned above? It won't at all, but you may have to stay in Nigeria for at least a year so it does not look like you desperate and during your INTERVIEW if they notice the difference in dates from your last country, questions may arise. So come back to Nigeria, chill for 9months to a year then LEAVE again. or During your ONE YEAR STAY... do little travel tours with travel agencies, visit simple african countries so you can use the alibi that you are a tourist.
2. Is 10 million too small to start anything quite profitable in Nigeria? Well I will be very straight with u on this.... 10 million naira is TOO MUCH. Here are things you can do to make six figure income monthly in Nigeria. I speak from personal experience o 1) Mini-Importation 50k to start and make 100k monthly. 2) Arbitraging 50/100k to start 3) Farming Investments from 50k to 300k to start 4) Start up a Travel Agency 170k max to start 5) keke/Uber/Taxify from 600k to get a 2006 model car 6) School Ownership 900k can start this 7) Housing. 1 to 5 million
I arranged them in order of least to highest capital intensive startup BUT the least of them will make u 100K monthly.
3. Finally, should I continue to remain here illegally working with no prospect of legalising my stay here?
I don't want to marry any woman for paper or have a child because of same.('married with kids back home')
Integrity boost your ego and posterity. A good name matters alot, You should not need to stay illegally if you have something back home in Nigeria that funds your trips. You need to live in countries that have little/no issues with blacks and are not prone to global crises.
I hope my answer helps you make a wise choice, Its wise to have good investment in Nigeria while you leave to another country for residency. If any of my points are not clear you can mail me and I will clarify them for you.
Stay Strong. |

fykes: I will advise you to try moving from UK to lesser countries. There are nicer European countries u can try who wouldn't mind ur status in UK... Try Kazakhstan, try Azerbaijan..u will be surprised at the standard of living and ease of migration from UK. Especially Azerbaijan. Forget Naija....the Bible obviously had Naija in mind when it said" thejust shall live by faith " |

Hello y'all, I need some good advise as am really not sure which decision to take. I am in the UK, currently illegally. I want to return to Nigeria voluntarily ('been resident for about 5 years'). I have about 10 million saved, and send home 800k monthly. I am very tired of the life here and I want to return to Nigeria. I intend coming back and travelling to Germany, Canada or USA for studies (Msc), or better still find a country where I can get a stay and live in a saner environment: nevertheless, I am also romancing the idea of remaining permanently in Nigeria and establishing something for myself in Lagos.
My arguments:
1. Will my voluntary return have a negative impact on gaining any of the visas to the countries i mentioned above? 2. Is 10 million too small to start anything quite profitable in Nigeria? 3. Finally, should I continue to remain here illegally working with no prospect of legalising my stay here?
I don't want to marry any woman for paper or have a child because of same.('married with kids back home')
Please, considering my options above, and the situation and living condition in Nigeria; what is the best option for me.
Note: Life in the UK is not easy and not to talk of working and living illegally, plus family separation. I believe I have seen my fair share of the stress and have had enough. |
