Ex-Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo has engaged his estranged wife Sonia in a war of words on social media, Igbere TV reports.

Sonia, who is still legally married to Ighalo, had on Friday night via her Instagram handle @desuwa30 alleged the former Manchester United player welcomed two babies from two different women and allegedly refused to pay child support.

“Congrats Ighalo on the arrival of ur baby,” she wrote on Instastories, hinting the baby arrived in February.

With her three children with Ighalo, Sonia alleged he now has five, calling him “Father Abraham”.

“Legally married in Europe,” she said in another comment, adding “If I decide to take everything today, nothing dey happen.”

However, in a veiled reaction, Ighalo who recently clocked 32 wrote in an Instagram post that no one can bring a good man down.

”You can never bring a good man down, who God has blessed no one can curse #itstoolatetofail,” he wrote on Saturday.

Ighalo has now taken down his comment, but left the photo with a heart emoji.

Responding almost immediately, Sonia wrote on Instastories, “He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. *Matt 26:52.”

Then she added the #Youcannotbringagoodwomandown to show it was her response to her estranged husband’s post.

Ighalo married Sonia in 2009. He is rumoured to be dating Nollywood actress Lilian Esoro.

The former Watford forward had gospel singers Tope Alabi and Tim Godfrey over at his apartment for his 32nd birthday.

Minister of Niger Delta affairs Godswill Akpabio has threatened to sue journalist David Hundeyin for linking them with the suspects named in the murder of an Akwa Ibom job seeker Iniobong Umoren, Igbere TV reports.

Mr Hundeyin had published a report via NewsWire in which he claimed to have analysed the telephone calls of the prime suspect Frank Akpan.

He also said in the report that Mr Akpan, 20, called several people after Umoren’s murder among was Kufre Effiong. He alleged that Effiong and Akpan “met physically at a certain 58G, Ewet Housing Estate in Uyo”.

“It has just come to my attention that Davok Suites, the hotel at the centre of the 58 Unit G/S.9, Unit G, Ewet Housing Estate nexus involving Kufre Effiong and Frank Uduak Akpan is owned by none other than Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Godswill Akpabio,” Hundeyin added in a tweet.

“In other words, this place where Frank Uduak Akpan, fresh from murdering Ini Umoren came to meet Kufre Effiong, belongs to the wife of Kufre’s boss and Federal Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio. So which politician has Kufre been ‘running errands’ for?”

But Akpabio, who is also a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, and his wife Ekaette in a letter dated May 12, 2021 said the building does not belong to them.

“We hasten to make a point that assuming (though without conceding) that Kufre Effiong is a staff of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and/or one of its contractors, Senator Akpabio does not know, has never met and has never had any contact whatsoever with him. Neither Sen Godswill Akpabio nor his wife, Mrs Ekaette Akpabio had anything whatsoever to do with the horrific death of Iniobong Umoren,” the letter read.

“Secondly, neither Davok Suites (which is a corpate entity) nor the land housing it belongs to Mrs Ekaete Akpabio.

“Indeed, a proper search at the Corporate Affairs Commission would have disclosed to you that Mrs Ekaete Akpabio is neither one of the Directors nor Shareholders of Davok Suites.”

The minister and his wife also demanded immediate retraction of the publication and public apology within two weeks else they would file a lawsuit.

Police have arrested the alleged gunmen suspected to be involved in the incessant killing of its operatives in the South East and South-South regions of the country, Igbere TV has learned.

The attacks which were carried out in states within these regions had the gunmen freeing suspects held in the detention facility, carting away arms from the armouries and burning of the police facilities.

At least 20 persons were reported to have been killed in the attacks in the regions.

However, in a statement made available to Igbere TV on Monday afternoon, the police said 16 suspects who are believed to be connected to the attacks have been arrested.

“Thanks to a coordinated effort between the Army and Police, 16 suspects were apprehended for complicity in a series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in some states of the Federation, particularly in South-Eastern Nigeria” the statement reads.

Four of the are arrested suspects, who totaled 16, were identified as; Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, 28, a native of Arochukwu LGA in Abia State; Raphael Idang, 31, a native of Odukpani LGA of Cross River State; Cletus Nwachukwu Egole, aka ‘Alewa,’ 60, a native of Orlu in Imo State; Michael Uba, 33 from Imo State and 12 others.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki; his wife, Betsy; Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu and his wife, Maryann, on Monday received the first dose of coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, Igbere TV reports.

Others who received the vaccination during the flag-off ceremony of the exercise in Government House, GRA, Benin City, include the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq. and Chief Judge of the state, Chief Justice Esther Edigin and among other political, religious and traditional rulers.

With the rollout, frontline workers in the state are to take the vaccine to fortify workers in isolation centres and other healthcare centres across the state.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a container load of Tramadol at the Apapa seaport in Lagos, Igbere TV reports.

NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi stated this in a release on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the agency arrested 90 persons including an Indian during raids of some drug cartels in parts of Lagos where a total of 614.396 kilograms of various hard drugs were seized.

Babafemi said that about two million capsules of Tramadol (precisely 1,994,400 capsules) tucked in 554 cartons were intercepted in a container at the Apapa seaport.

He said the container was falsely declared to contain ceramic tiles.

“One of the drug syndicates busted during the raids is coordinated by one Samuel Ebenezer in Lekki whose cartel imports special sophisticated drugs baked in cakes, biscuits and cookies from the United States and sells to the rich and affluent people in Lekki and Lagos Island,” the statement read.

“The second syndicate is co-ordinated by an Indian, Inderpreet Singh, alias Bobby that imports Tramadol 225mg from India and sells in Nigeria from his Osy Agomo Close, Apple Estate, Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos. Mr. Singh is also a dealer in tricycle parts and the Managing Director of Rashaan Trading Ltd. Arrested with him is a Nigerian, one Sylvester Omoredien.”

According to the Apapa seaport area commander of the NDLEA Samuel Gadzama, one of the containers bearing the illicit drug had been intercepted and seized in Kenya.

“Though the second container found its way to Nigeria but the eagle eyes of our narcotic agents discovered it during a joint inspection of the ship. We’re continuing with further investigations,” he stated.

Chairman and chief executive of the NDLEA Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Marwa (retd.), according to the statement, commended the officers involved in the operations for their efforts and charged them to remain focused.
