Singer Omawumi has opened up on her body-shaming experience growing up as a kid, Igbere TV reports.
In an Instagram post on Monday night, the 39-old said she was called all manner of names and mocked for her looks.
According to the singer, she could not go out without heavily making up to hide her flaws because she felt imperfect.
She said: “I was one of those kids they used to call ‘Hammer Headed’, ‘OGORstina’ and ‘Ekpengbe forehead’… In fact one of my aunts used to call me ‘Beauty’, she said she was using it to prophecy into my life that I will be pretty someday.
“Well, there was a time I allowed it get to me, there was a time that I couldn’t step out without being heavily decked up in makeup. I would do all manners of things to hide my flaws because I felt imperfect.”
Speaking on her life has changed since then, the music star said that she is now in love with herself and has embraced her imperfections.
“Now the only thing that has changed is that I’m madly in love with my imperfect me, with my ekpengbe forehead, with my knock knees, with my cellulitis and stretch marks like map of Africa! I’m in love with my skin and everything within…
“And guess what? I can still decide to change or hide a flaw because that too is ok! what I won’t do is allow anybody’s perception of me to direct the decisions I make for myself. I am Beautiful…You are beautiful too,” she wrote.
Actress Mercy Aigbe has said that her desire in 2022 is to make money in billions, Igbere TV reports.
The 44-year-old said this in an Instagram post on Friday. She shared a video displaying bundles of money sprayed on her during her birthday party.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko on Wednesday, shared a video of himself on social media singing loudly in thanksgiving to God on his birthday, Igbere TV reports.

Actress Kemi Afolabi on Tuesday sustained injuries during a robbery attack on her while returning from a movie set, Igbere TV reports.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 43-year-old shared photos and a video, showing her injured body.
According to the actress, the armed robbers broke the windscreen of her car which left her injured because of the impact of the shattered glass, she also said her phones and other valuables were taken and her driver took a hit on his head.
Narrating the incident, Kemi wrote: I am in a state of shock! Traumatized!! I haven’t closed my eyes to sleep since yesterday. I also experienced the highly poor insecurity state in Nigeria which has become a norm. No matter how much we scream and cry it always falls on deaf ears of those who govern us even when death is involved.
“My driver and I were attacked by armed robbers at Arepo where I went to film while in traffic on our way back home yesterday, They broke my windscreens, left my whole body with wounds and skin in pains because of the impact of the shattered glass which was forcefully broken while I was in the car, my arm was cut with a cutlass, they took my phones, belongings and ran off! Sadly my driver also took a hit to his head.
“Still, I am thankful because it could be worse! However, this is nothing compared to what I’ve been through in recent times. No matter what may come my way, I will forever be grateful to God for preserving my life.”

Senior pastor of Trinity House Church, Lagos Ituah Ighodalo on New Year day led his late wife Ibidunni’s foundation in distributing packages to babies in hospitals, Igbere TV reports.
One of the hospitals visited was Somolu General Hospital.
Ibidunni died on June 14, 2020 in her hotel room in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
She was in the state to set up marquee tents for use as coronavirus isolation centre.

Mercy Johnson, Kunle Remi, Abayomi Alvin, Linda Osifo and Efa Iwara paid tribute to the actress in a video Kunle Afolayan posted on Instagram on Wednesday.
“One fun thing about mama, I call her mama Rachel oniga I think that will be the fact that she is also a very fun person. She oozes out good vibes, good energy. I mean for somebody of her age I mean mama would play with you. She would play with you,” Abayomi wrote.
“She is absolutely caring and I use the word care because that also leads to the world mother,” Linda wrote.
Getting emotional, Mercy Johnson said.
“She is a mum in every way. Few days before she died, I came in late and I went to her and apologise to her because I was late. And she insisted and said being a mom is tough and coming in early and still making it at this time it’s fine. It’s okay because she like gets it.”
“She was really fun, she is very youthful. She loved to play with us and try to lock in on trends. She is just a sweet mother figure,” Efa said.
Rachel Oniga was on the set of the production when she took ill from what was reported to be complications related to Covid.
She died from her illness and production was temporarily suspended in her honour.
The movie follows three sons on their quest to make their mother’s Christmas wish for daughters-in-law come true.
Oniga is the mother who, unimpressed by her sons’ refusal to get married and give her grandchildren, demands that they bring home their partners on Christmas Day.

An alumnus of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) entrepreneurship programme Abideen Olasupo has returned the sum of $2,397 which was wrongfully credited to his account by his client, Igbere TV reports.
The foundation said in an Instagram post on Monday that Mr Olasupo exhibited one of the attributes of a TEF entrepreneur which is integrity.
Explaining further, the TEF said of the 2018 alumnus, “He was mistakenly credited the sum of $2,397 by his client and he quickly called and alerted them, and returned the money in full.
“This has earned him recognition from various notable organisations and media platforms.”
Olasupo, who is also an alumnus of HBS Online and Lagos Business School, according to his Instagram profile, reposted the foundation’s message on Instastories.
