Four underage girls, whose ages range between 10 and 13, were among the 13 suspected cultists arrested by the police in Ogun State early this week. According to reports, other male members of the suspected group were in their early teens, and their leader slightly older. He is 19 years of age.

All the suspects were, at time of their arrests, residents of Mosunmore Village near Kobape in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Stunned by the worrisome development, the Baale of the community was said to have alerted the police, sequel to the alarm raised by one of the suspected girl's mother.

True to the allegation, detectives attached to Owode-Egba Police Divisional Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Shehu Alao, swung into action and succeeded in smoking them out of their camp during initiation of another set of girls.

Speaking on the ugly incident, the state Police Commissioner, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, disclosed to Crimepuzzle that on Monday, August 28, 2017, at about 6:30 pm, a woman raised alarm to the Baale of Mosunmore Village near Kobape, here in Abeokuta, to the effect that her daughter went out late a day previous.

"Apparently disturbed by the said outing, the woman pestered her daughter who later confessed that she was initiated into a cult group, a development the woman found difficult to conceal to herself and alerted the community head who, in turn called in my men.

"Consequently, officers of Owode-Egba Division stormed the area and successfully apprehended the 13 youngsters in the process of initiating yet another set of underaged girls", CP Iliyasu said.

The girls, all primary six school leavers, confessed to being lured into the group by the boys.

Leader of the group known as "Penalty Guys", 19-year-old Tunde Adio, narrated to Crimepuzzle how he was initiated by one Tosin, also a resident of the community in January, 2017, adding that they came about their own group's name during the last Easter celebration when his third-in-command, 13-year-old Adewale Raphael's church was organizing a picnic.

According to Adio, "we decided to do customized vests, with the the inscription "Penalty Guys". This was what attracted the girls and agreed to be initiated".

Adio's second-in-command, Silas Sunday, 15, was also arrested during the police raid.

Meanwhile, CP Iliyasu has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

A man identified as Andy has lost his life after he reportedly dived into a dam in Akpegede area of Otukpo, Benue State. It was gathered that Andy was until his demise a staff of the Benue Links Transport Limited. The company is owned by the Benue State government.

According to reports, Andy who works at the Otukpo branch of Benue Links, was said to have gone to the dam on August 31st, 2017 in the company of 3 other friends to wash a company car but dived into the water after washing the vehicle.

He did not surface till the next day when his lifeless body was seen floating on the dam, a source told our reporter.

The body was taken the morgue at Otukpo general hospital, while investigation to uncover the misery that led to the death of the deceased is still ongoing.

Here are some of the photos from recent bloody clash between supporters of former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his successor, Governor Umar Ganduje, in Kano state during the Sallah celebration.

Former Secretary to Kano State government, Dr Rabi”u Sulaiman Bichi and junior brother to Dr Rabi”u Musa Kwankwaso were among the scores injured yesterday following a clash between the supporters.

The injured have been taken to the hospital and are currently being treated.

Kwankwaso has been at loggerheads with his successor, Umar Ganduje.

In March last year, the leadership of the APC in Kano chapter had initiated moves to suspend him over what it termed anti-party activities.

Some members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra IPOB who were arrested and detained by the Nigeria Police for public disturbance on the 29th of August 2017 and taken to Mile One Police Station Port-Harcourt, Rivers state before the transfer of Case file to Rivers State CID, have being released by IPOB Legal Team, at exactly 8Pm on the 31st of August 2017 (yesterday night).

Amongst the IPOB detainees is a 15yr old Boy, who was arrested before the intervention of the legal team.

A female journalist was attacked by unknown hoodlums when they were invading Owerri, Imo capital city.. According to her, the thugs attacked her opposite the NUJ Secretariat along Port-Harcourt road, and the beat her up mercilessly in the process. The hoodlums also made away with her valuables such as cash, union I.D card and phone.

I still thank God for him.

I sat at the passenger's side where the hit occurred. The impact was too much. The vehicle was badly damaged but God saved us. I came out of the car unhurt. No cut, no injury. I was not admitted in any hospital. I went to my house afterward. God did it for me and the other persons in the car. It's was miraculous. Thank You Father. For without You, we would have been gone.

A young man is filled with nothing but thanks to God for rescuing him from a ghastly motor accident in Rivers state. The man who was being driven in a Mazda SUV with others - revealed that their car was hit by a heavy duty truck which lost control and veered off its lane. But he came out unhurt from the crash. Ordinarily, I didn't want to talk about the accident that occurred on Saturday until an inner voice spoke to me to say: "You haven't expressed enough gratitude to God".

Yes, we had an accident on Saturday at the Emohua end of the Choba/Emohua River bridgehead. A heavy duty vehicle veered off its lane to hit us. My friend, Zeismer I. Evans Osi drove us in his Mazda SUV. He did everything humanly possible to dodge this vehicle that had lost control but the driver still changed direction to hit us. More like a vehicle on a mission. It was terrible, I must say. God saved us.

I sat at the passenger's side where the hit occurred. The impact was too much. The vehicle was badly damaged but God saved us. I came out of the car unhurt. No cut, no injury. Based on received information about the location of some suspected top Boko Haram terrorists’ leaders, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force have been carrying out heavy artillery bombardments and air interdiction on registered targets that have killed a large number of Boko Haram terrorists including some of the group’s key leaders.

The Nigerian Army artillery using Multi-Barrel Rocket Launchers has lobbed many rockets over the suspected location the terrorists’ leaders are hiding. Video clips obtained on battle damage assessment shows clear success of the exercise. More details of successes achieved will be made available as the operation continues.

The key Boko Haram terrorists Ameers neutralized within the week during the joint Artillery and Nigerian Air Force air bombardments include; Abu Dujana, Man Tahiru (Deputy to Boko Haram terrorists group Hisba leader), Man Chari, Malam Abdullahi Abu Sa'ad and Goni Bamanga.

The Nigerian military would continue with the concerted onslaught on the reported Boko Haram terrorists’ location till they have been eliminated.

An American woman identified as Sarah Curran who lives in California has hailed Nigerian outfits after getting some from Lagos for her little children. The excited woman revealed that her friend Natalie Kostich who visited Lagos, Nigeria recently - bought the locally made attire and gave them to her for her kids.

According to Sarah, her little children appreciated the outfit so much that they played all morning in it.

Officials of the Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS stormed a popular hotel located along Akintola Road extension in Sapele area of Delta state over back log debts. According to reports, the FIRS officials said that they have written series of letters to the hotel management but they refused to comply or even show up.

All the guests in the hotel were chased away as they were made to check out immediately during the raid. The owner of the hotel was nowhere to be found -as the officials sealed the building.

He is alleged to be in possession of the gang’s riffles, led by one Justus, surname unknown but popularly known as High-Tension from Abarikpo in Ahoada East Local Government Area. He is helping in the Police Investigation.

Furthermore, Operatives of SARS in a covert operation arrested Belema Oriasi ‘m’, Michael Eboh ‘m’ and Godspower Isreal ‘m’ who are said to be the gang operating along Ada George Road. A Nigerian guy was severely dealt with and stripped unclad after he was caught during robbery operation at the residence of some Nigerian guys living in Negeri Sembilan area of Malaysia. According to the young man who was apprehended and tied up, he came to ask his friend for house rent when he noticed that the door was opened as he decided to "utilize the opportunity" by stealing money, phones and other valuables.
