90% of “single women” over 40 whether never married , single mother, separated or divorced are side chicks to married men and they are passed on from one married man to another. These days some of them are serviced by small boys. Know that and know peace as they say. You don’t know because those with a modicum of shame cannot tell you. You think that your single auntie has no man, she has….she just can’t let you know. Some can’t even confide in their friends. We the married men we know because we are the ones occupying them.

So if you have husband and you decide to divorce or you have not found by 40, know this is the future that awaits you. It is even more pathetic for the one who left husband because of side chick to now become a side chick. Your mothers that you thought were suffering or did not have sense or were not liberated, you will understand that they had more sense than you.

The streets (I.e without a committed life partner) is not a place for a woman above 40 to be.

You are an ethnic supremacist! To hell with your uNiTy!

You are no different from the White man you accuse of racism. No effing difference! The white man might even use skin colour. What is your reason?
Your problem is you are not intelligent, have a poor grasp of English (I say this only because this isthe language we are communicating in) and you are entering a purely economic intellectual discussion with ethnic, religious or political bias….this is clearly above your pay grade and IQ.

Where did I call them racist? What Unity are you talking about? This discussion is not about race but economic power and development. Again this is the problem with eeediots like you, one can never have a sound engagement. With you because you are drowning in ethnic religious and tribal filth.

You interpreted everything I have written as racism, that is on you not on me. It shows how deep the rot in your mind is. Point anywhere I mentioned race, colour in this discussion about the economic stranglehold of the west has on us? I challenge you too.

If you can’t, then this should be a wake up call for you. It seems you cannot even have a discussion about the global north and global south without you looking at it through the lease of our internal fault lines. You cannot see the big picture because you are drowned by tribal, religious or political rivalries. That is what you have displayed to the world in your post.

Again where did I talk of unity or racism? The discerning reader will see from your response that you have proven my point….you are where the west wants you to be mentally because that is how they keep you subjugated.

You did not understand my last post. In fact, you have not understood my argument. No one is good and no one is bad. The staff of the IMF come from various countries. Its leadership is European so its primary interest is to Europe.
The staff and leadership at the IMF are also human. Europe became rich through struggle and revolution. They had incompetent rulers too. If Africans are ready to fight for their rights, the world would support us because we will be displaying our shared values as humans.
Again you have drank too much western cool-aid. I say that with all due respect as unlike many you are clearly a smart guy. Again I say this with respect you are naive. It is not an insult, I was once naive.

The world is not going to support us because our progress will come at a big cost to them.

Can you imagine a world where Nigeria is an economic superpower with a population of over 200m? They will not be able to push any African country around, what Nigeria says other African countries will follow ( as was the case in the 70s.). Do you honestly thru k the west can afford that having already lost influence in the BRICS axis? I do t think you understand that the American economy is a Ponzi scheme and its continued sustenance is dependent on them controlling others primarily through the dollar. Please don’t be offended by what you are about to read. You and I see things the same but from different angles.
Let me play the devils advocate (assume I am western puppet). The West(IMF) understood than Nigeria was in a big mess. Our leaders had shown that they were incapable of making decisions to benefit Nigerians. What they didn’t know was if the Nigerian people were also foolish. Advocating for the fuel subsidy removal, the IMF expected Nigerians to protest. If Nigerians had protested, it would have shown the world that the people were not the problem but the leaders.

This same game has just been played in Kenya and the Kenyans responded in an appropriate way. The Kenyan people will now receive support both in terms of political pressure on their politicians and also financial support. The Kenya’s have shown that they are worthy of support.
With due respect your submissions are naive. You seem not to understand that the IMF is not your friend. The institutions are not set up for you. Your position would make sense if the IMF was truly a friend of Africa.

Look what I am saying will sound crazy to you. I know because when I was young I thought all those anti world bank, anti IMF voices were nut jobs. I was naive, I was green, fresh out of school with their western focused curriculum and exuberance of youth. Experience and life. ( including living amongst them) has taught me otherwise.

The IMF is there to keep you enslaved.

As far as Kenya, I have not made up my mind if the protesters are stupid, reckless or just naive. Kenya through Rito has pivoted to a full grown western puppet….it never ends well…just watch.

African countries do not need the IMF. If you ask me which country is likely to make progress long term between Uganda and Kenya, my money is on Uganda…..they know what time it is. Kenyans are still emerged and infact are doubling down on mental enslavement.

I suggest you read up on the history of the IMF and other institutions. When you understand how and why they exist, you will understand.

Obasanjo put Nigeria on the path to prosperity. The system was working. From 2004 to 2008 the Naira strengthened from 145 to 116. Nigerians got richer and our society was starting to flourish.

We were on a path to sustainable growth. Our budget was based on crude oil price of about $70 per Barrel and the rest was saved in the excess crude account.

The idea was so simple, if oil prices fell below $70, Nigeria would take money from the excess crude account and if prices were above $70, the excess funds would be saved.

Jonathan move the budget to over $100 per barrel and consumed almost all that was saved. This is the primary reason why things are bad and not any action by western nations.
How old are you? I ask that respectfully because if you were around during Obasanjo’s tenure as military head of state you will not describe Obasanjo’s regime as president as spectacular. Obasanjo benefited from an upturn in Oil prices. Which road did he build, how many megawatts did he add to the grid, which airports did he build, which universities did he renovate. Tell me what do you look at today that is Obasanjos’s legacy? Telecoms? Please gsm started before Obasanjo came to power, he simply auctioned licenses. Even Buhari can point to rail. What is Obasanjo’s legacy other than he was fortunate to be president wham oil prices rebounded?

If Anything Obasanjo sold our national job creating assets to his cronies as a western puppet parroting western ideologies. Where are the Nitel jobs, the Nigerian airways jobs etc etc, that Obasanjo and his western masters said would be better served in private hands?

I understand what you are saying. Every nation competes against each other. I also understand your initial criticism. My issue is that right now, Nigeria has collapsed through no fault of mine. I have advocated for progressive policies but no one listened. I have now chosen to place me tent with progressive minded people who look nothing like me since my on people can not understand basic issues, yet you attack people like me.

What choice do I have? Continue to live amongst ignorant people whose actions continue to impoverish me?
Thank God you are finally for the first time beginning to talk some sense. There is not much you and I can do about it and I agree 100% because your efforts will be neutralized by others who are western puppets.

The point is to have the enlightenment to understand the system and know who is your friend and who isn’t, to understand that our collective inferiority complex, subservience to the west is the root of our problems. A man who doesn’t even know the root of his problem cannot solve it. It doesn’t mean you have the power to solve it but at least you know what the problem is.

What is progressive? What do you define as progressive? There is no progressive in Nigeria as far as our politics is concerned, they are all western puppets. It’s a question of degrees and who is least bad. I stated this during the elections. I attack you and your type because IMHO you are parroting western propaganda. So long as you are parroting western ideologies, values and propaganda you are not progressive as far as I am concerned because these western ideologies are exactly what has impoverished us.

I repeat embracing everything western to the point of nauseating mental enslavement is the root of our problems.

You want to know how bad things are? Everybody said they would remove subsidy. No matter what anyone tells you, they would have removed it because there was no money. Now we removed it, impoverishes the people and we are back to square 1 because whether implicitly or explicitly subsidy is back. That should give you an idea of the rot in the country and how difficult it is for ANYONE to turn this country around.

I can tell you this for a fact, no one is going to turn this country around following western prescriptions . All this talk about agric and industrialization revolutions will always remain a myth because to achieve, these we will have to be prepared to fight the west and you know what happens when you fight the west.

Which is why I harp on the that we need to prepare ourselves mentally because to make real progress in this country we must be prepared to see the west for what they are and be prepared to ditch them and take them on because they will try to crush us.

See what they are trying to do to China! We have been talking about exports since nineteen gbogboro, the day we get our act together by some miracle and actually have finished products to export, then you will understand the west and that the free market that you have swallowed for decades mean only they can sell finished products to us. Let he who has ears hear.

This is why I get disgusted when I hear things like “God bless America”, you are praying for your oppressors not knowing their continued progress is dependent on your continued impoverishment. Even slaves don’t do that!!

The global financial system gives advantages and disadvantages to western nations. The system also creates pathways for countries to exploit to become successful.
America has had a trade deficit since the 70’s because of the global financial system. The huge debt America has is the price America pays to sit on top of this system. It’s military benefits, and its people have a higher standard of living.

If as a citizen you are already shouting God bless America, God save the queen what will you do when you become a leader?

There is no country especially one of size that has pulled itself from underdeveloped to developed by puppeting the west. I really dont understand why this is so hard for people to grasp.

When you see a Nigerian leader rushing to Chatham house for validation you know he is an western slave whether he be Tinubu, Atiku or Obi. They’ve all been programmed to because they are Nigerian citizens first and they are products of the western brainwashed system.

I watched your video on debt issued in dollars. This has been common knowledge since 1980’s. Why do countries still fall prey for such a foolish trap?

My world view is that all countries compete against each other and on this basis, all is fair game. My view growing up was that my Nigerian leaders will share this same view, so would take actions to benefit Nigerians as opposed to other countries. This is not the case.
We don’t share anything the quicker you realize that the better. That’s the kind of brainwashing they dish out to impoverish you.

Why do countries fall for it

1). We are operating in a world system that was designed for the west by the west to cushion the effects of loss of colonies.
2) they have brainwashed us to lose our sense of self respect dignity, pride identity self worth etc and programmed us to seek validation of the west.
3) we do not have the balls to say enough is enough, we are not westerners and never will be so we will do what is best for us. Those who speak out are silenced.

Yes, Nigerians suffer from inferiority complex. We buy too many foreign goods as opposed to producing and purchasing our own.
You should be advocating for higher tariffs on imported goods and higher taxes on properties as this would keep Nigerian funds within Nigeria. You should also be advocating for quality basic education as Gerrard59, rightly said, Girl child education reduces population growth and poverty. These are the sort of issues you should be discussing given your exposure and position but here you are attacking people for no just reason.
The Nigerian currency collapsed solely because of the mismanagement of our excess crude account. Every leader after Obasanjo is complacent of this mismanagement. You should be screaming at the top of your lungs for appropriate actions to be taken against these “leaders”, but you are here fighting people for liking countries with more competent leaders.

Look at this 50+-year-old bastard! No be you show your British passports on top of your bed? After serving Her Majesty for donkey years, it is now you know that mental slavery exists?

Unlike eeediots like you who want to run away, I came back to my homeland and will remain here despite the difficulties here. I am a Nigerian and always will be. If I were an Uncle Tom I would be in England.

Your argument shows you are a person of low intellect. If anything that I have British Citizenship and choose to remain in Nigeria should tell you otherwise.

Nigeria won’t reach the promise land. The primary reason is because there are too many citizens who think like you, it is from the citizenry that leaders emerge so how can our leaders be any different? I know it but I choose to remain. I have less days ahead of me and most of you are just beginning your lives. I enjoyed the best of this country, many of you have never seen Nigeria in good times. If you like listen if you like continue to be enslaved mentally. Like I said you have more years and by extension more years of misery ahead. And this has nothing to do with who is president, what tribe he comes from or what religion he practices. Our no1 problem is mental enslavery and inferiority complex.

You and your co travelers may think this is about scoring points online . It is not. I can choose to keep quiet like you said I have options. But I hope in your quiet moment away from the online windbagging, you are able to reflect and see the big picture. Your biggest problem is the west and they have you where they want you to endure you and your generations will always be subservient to them. Because you are too busy fighting yourselves and seeking western validation. to see that your real enemies are the people you are trying to be like or to please.

I have to give credit to the west…they really know how to mess up people’s minds especially those who refuse to think for themselves. Why enslave someone or colonize when you can control their minds and they willingly serve and worship you? You don’t need guns or physical slavery or colonialism when you can control how a man thinks. When they colonized us, we were merely a source for raw materials. Now we have independence, we are not just a source for raw materials but doctors engineers etc trained at our own expense and a dumping ground for their goods. Why? Because we have agreed to participate in a world order that was designed to favour the west and keep us suppressed. Why did we agree and continue to agree….because we are a nation of Uncle Toms programmed to feel inferior and mentally enslaved.

There are no foreign companies that are allowed to import fruit juices for public sale in Nigeria, for a solitary example. When I am abroad, I like to take Libby's Mango drink. It isn't readily available anywhere in Nigeria.

However, the bigger crisis with "government" is that we focus on the Federal, when the States and Local Governments, collectively make more money than what the Federal makes. I am not dwelling on whether the West is or East are our friends. Both ends are selfish, including Russia. We would ourselves do same, as we have shown from our terrible corrupt tendencies to steal everything of our commonwealth.

The Yoruba people say that there is nobody who would give a hoe who wouldn't raise heaps into the person's self. What we should do is to have consequences for corruption.
I am in no way suggesting that government should set up and manage industries. IMHO government should set up an annual fund of $2b a year to startup new industries around the country in partnership with competent private sector partners in whatever partnership or management form is applicable. For example govt can set up plantations and associate processing industries and once they are up and running, take them public on the stock exchange, retain a minority stake of no more than 20% and reserve a percentage for the public, recoup their money even if at a loss, put it into the fund for establishing other industries, rinse repeat. The lesson we have learnt is that government is a bad manager of businesses not that they shouldn’t participate in the creation or ownership. Government must also not be hesitant to wield the high tarrif stick to protect strategically important industries.

Thank you for your courteous feedback. I appreciate its politeness, even in elaboration.

That written, we can adopt a hybrid model to all these. As it is, which you would agree with me, government doesn't own NLNG. Rather, as I had enthused earlier, government has considerable financial input and ownership in a Public-Private Partnership, but is generally 'owned' by private sector.

So we are indeed saying the same thing, you know. In a society as fantastically corrupt as this one, you cannot have our poor people with weakened education and moral uprightness run public businesses for government. Rather, government must continue to give the impetus, but let the digital private sector run the business franchises.
Actually you shouldn’t take offense. It’s the harsh reality that although the colonialist have left, the institutions they left behind and which we have not discarded were designed to enslave us mentally. In that respect we are all Uncle Toms…we have been programmed to be such. From giving our children foreign names to the education we receive, to the struggle to speak in fake foreign accents, to the fact that we judge ourselves and consider development based on what obtains in the west. It’s not your fault or mine, it’s who we are it’s what we are programmed to be. Enlightenment comes from understanding that the systems left behind by the west were not designed to lift us out of poverty or undevelopment and have not but to keep us subdued and a source of raw material and a market for their industries. It is that ingrained programmed desire to be like the west that is the source of our misery….and will continue to be.

Back to the topic, the quicker Nigeria and indeed Africa realizes that parroting the west or following their prescriptions (which were designed to favour them and keep us subservient) will never take us t9 the promised land is the day that we start to make progress. You cannot be signing up to agreements that you had no voice at the table or are not in your interests. The same west are the ones imposing punitive tariffs on China regarding chips and EVs. Let who has ears hear. You don’t kill your industries to appease your enemies..and yes they are our enemies. Tha same west pay huge subsidies to their farmers to continue to produce at above market prices and dump the excess on us. Put or farmers to work, impose heavy tariffs on imported alternatives and create industries to process the raw materials. Liberties your economy when we have matured and are competitive. Simple!

The quicker we realize the west are not our friends the better.
