mediclife1987:you wouldnt know what it means to have functioning thinking faculties because you were probably raised in the era of decayed educational institutions, exploitation by pastors and have probably nvere used your brain in your life because your environment has not encouraged you to. Every aspect of your life has been based on subsidies and low standards.. You teachers are there because they cant get any other jobs and the smart ones no longer want to go into teaching and your pastors have encouraged you all your life to pray for blessings and favour. so why would you have ever had to engage your brain? |
mediclife1987:they dont because if they did the GDP per capita of Nigeria would not be N150k a month...thats my point. but you probably lack the intelligence to understand this simple unemotional objective measure of productivity. The average Nigerian employee is a leech. This country is held together by the self employed. |
raskymonojendor:Always trying to rewrite history. |
SlavaUkraini:like i said you are daft. when they say a woman who helped you succeed, it means a woman who encouraged you, motivated you, supported you did not give you probelms on your path to success, ahred your dreams and pushed you on the path to success. But your low IQ mind thought it meant a woman gives you money. It shows the kind of women you have been dealing with. Women who are there when you are broke fall into 2 categories 1) the woman who has sensed your potential and knows this man will make it “so let me get in before the success comes” or 2) the woman who cannot do better for herself and for whom your broke ass is as good as it gets for her or one with no desire who doesnt want progress for herself and who will never motivate a man to suceede or who probably doesnt want you to suceed because she is afraid to lose you to other women. You dont want no2 in your life. so when you say a woman who was there when i was broke, know not all women who are there when you are broke are good for you. Similarly if you dont eventually make it no1 may also leave you or give you hell because her gamble on you did not pay off. Every woman will always strive for the best she can get. If a woman is with you when you are struggling it because she believes you will make it or your are the best she can get. Women are not charitable like that. Women don’t marry for love, they marry the most secure man they can attract based on their own ability to attract the best. It’s genetically not in their nature and quite frankly that’s the way it should be.. Only a foolish man says “she was with me when I was broke”. If she had better options she would have left, if she felt you wouldn’t make it she would have left. Those are the only reasons a woman stays with a broke man. |
SlavaUkraini:very daft comment |
Nice2023:Don’t forget to also mention one of the lowest productivity in the world. You want better soup but you neither want to work or pay for it. That’s the typical Nigerian. |
yesloaded:He has already told you. Why are we so dumb?
|
Disgraceful statement from EFCC. |
Believeintruth:You are daft. Even ordinary Ghana protects their citizens from Nigerians, go and ask. Which ibo business is of he level of Facebook or Microsoft, is it spare parts, fake drinks or fake electronics that is so valuable to a country that ibo businesses must be retained? So In your mind you thought you can have Biafra and still carry on like before in the rest of Nigeria? What you enjoy in Nigeria today is because you are a Nigerian, once you lose that you lose all the privileges of being a Nigerian. |
franconian:Oga that’s why poverty is a disease. Anyone who told you life is fair lied to you. There is no system of government anywhere in the world that was designed for the poor. Every system of govt everywhere in the world since the dawn of time was designed for the few. Forget their propaganda, the only interest any govt has in the poor is to prevent a riot so the elites can enjoy their privileges in peace and since the Poor of Nigeria are all talk, make stupid choices, prefer to pray than to work, no one is going to,fight for you unless you fight for yourselves. So you either improve yourself to break the poverty barrier or you fight so that they take care of you. Joe Ajaero is in switzerland, he would have travelled business class, his official car is the same car senators and house rep members ride, when he called a strike his house is powered by generators paid for by union dues. Do you think he fighting for the poor? Better wake up. I cannot pay you what I do not have, neither can you employer, neither can a government. Stop asking about what the elites earn, you are not the elite. I hate to break it to you but you are not equal. To borrow the famous phrase from animal farm. “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others”. That’s the reality of life. That why we say get a good education so that there is a minimum level you cannot fall below in life but you insist on paying 80k for university fees and chase away those who can pay higher fees to subsidize a good education for you. Then you complain when those who sacrificed to get a good education enjoying the privileges, contact, access of the said good education. Ok nah! So to answer your question what is their output? More than the minimum wage worker that’s why they are there and the minimum wage worker is where he is. If the minimum wage worker had what it takes to be earning the millions he wouldn’t be earning minimum wage. If the average Nigerian had what it takes to earn the millions they wouldn’t be average Nigerians. Clearly those earning these sums have something those who don’t lack. It could be intelligence, it be be qualifications, it could be access, it could be contacts, whatever it is it come with deliberate effort, not shouting asking why are you earning more than me! That is why I said you get what you work for in life. |
mediclife1987:You are the one who is cursed. Your problem is you believe the nonsense they feed you in the west. You get what you work for in life. When you try to compare yourself to western countries, ask if a security man on minimum wage sits or chats on duty, or a sales girl in a shop spends her employers time dancing and chatting on duty, or if a civil servant fails to come to work or comes for a few hours and spends the time idle. Ask yourself if a worker on minimum wage spends his time in church or gets a part time job to augment his income. Ask if you constantly break the law or collect money rice etc from politicians in exchange for votes, as if they pay taxes. Before you compare your leaders to those in western countries ask if you the citizen, you the worker, are doing your bit as compared to their citizens. You get what you work for in life, you are not entitled to anything. Be it love, money, happiness, good government, good economy etc. anyone who tells you otherwise has been lying to you and if you see anyone enjoying any of these things they worked for it…..maybe you don’t know their story. Nobody cares if you “talk am”, the people you envy acted and that’s why you are cursed. You are happy to just “talk am” |
CrossRhodes:There are over 100 countries where foreigners are not allowed to own property. Even countries like the UK, Sweden and Australia are currently looking into restricting foreign ownership of property in the country or in certain areas. So first of all you and I know that this Biafra agitation is just a scam as the Ibos are the greatest beneficiaries of project Nigeria and your real intention is to dominate the rest of Nigeri. but just in case you believe the hype and think you can have Biafra and own property in Nigeria, a rude awakening awaits you. I hope you all know that even today all property purchased after 1975 is leased not owned and a governor can revoke the cofo of any property and one of the grounds is threat to security. Furthermore in the case of a split of the country, the constituent parts are free to pass any laws as they deem fit over their territory including who can own or lease property. Finally if the country were to hypothetically split. It is only the best of the Ibos that will be allowed in just like they chase you out of Ghana and South Africa etc etc. those who come here on night buses to eek a living your region cannot provide for you (aka 90% of you noisemakers on nairaland) will be sent packing. |
hammer567:Since your goal is to have Biafra you won’t need property in Abuja or Lagos. |
bixton:No we are here because we have a population of daft citizens like you. |
bixton:If the people didn’t want pilgrimages they would reject govt spending money on pilgrimages. Just like you would reject schools if you don’t want schools. Disavow yourself of the mindset that you have a right to determine what is anybody’s priority service from government. It’s called tolerance. This is why the old national anthem is needed to ram home that tribe and tongues differ and stop looking at things as if everyone must share our views on life. One could also argue It is also equally abnormal for government to deploy valuable government resources to quell self inflicted instability and insecurity in certain regions. I am sure the money spent on insecurity in the SE every year exceeds the money spent on pilgrimages. You could say if you want to go on pilgrimage pay for it yourself just as you could say if you caused insecurity in your region fix it yourself. You see you are not in a position to dictate what should be a priority service to me, neither me to you. |
Bebigiby1:Pilgrimage is a social service, that’s the function of government to provide social services. I don’t agree with it but for a section of the population that is what they want from the government. Government exists to provide social services for 200+m people not to use half of the whole income to pay the salaries of 1.2m largely indolent civil servants . The point still stands the output of the average Nigerian worker is only N150k a month. It is from output one is paid. If you have a business you cannot pay your staff more than your income from sales…so also a country cannot pay it’s workers more that the output of the country. Nigeria has been unproductive and entitled for too long, now the chickens have come home to roost. You are a minimum wage worker, you contribute little to the economy and you spend the rest of your time in church when you should be seeking ways to improve your self. All that nonsense go stop. Nobody will tell you to ask yourself why you are giving the little time you have to church and the small money you have to pastor so he can live large. |
adeoyekay:You cannot pay a worker from nothing. If your income cannot pay workers, it cannot pay. If it didn’t dey it didn’t dey! |
I resent this constant reference to the west. He can make the point with comparing or mentioning Obama or Biden. Enough of this slave/ colonial mentality. |
christejames:You say you want a technocrat, he is giving you the facts from the lens of a technocrat. You cannot have a country with a gdp per capita of N150k a month and pay the minimum worker even N100k. I have been saying it for weeks, you cannot pay a man more than his output and the reality is that the output of the Nigerian worker is very low N150k a month on average. Average according to civil service scale is a graduate with a few years experience. Minimum wage is not supposed to “take you home”. You are not supposed to be comfortable on minimum wage otherwise you would have no incentive to improve yourself or your productivity. If you read my posts on the subject for the last 2 weeks, you will see Soludo is echoing exactly what I have been saying. 1) He said nowhere in the world do you pay a minimum wage higher than 30% of GDP per capita. 2) he spoke about the productivity of the Nigerian worker. 3) he spoke about effects of Udoji award of 1973. All these things I have been hammering. |
savenaijatoday:It wasn’t a message meant in good spirit. If it were he would have just kept quiet. The last sentence betrayed him. As we celebrate democracy day, one cannot help but wonder the fate of a country that has placed the power (votes) to choose its leaders in the hands of people with such low intellect, such simpletons. Thankfully not everyone is so intellectually challenged and it is good to know there are some who are able to decipher and understand the unwritten. Unfortunately the daft are more in number. |
The platform is merely a platform for Uncle Toms. |
immortalcrown:Enjoy your democracy day! |
ablejesus26:On the contrary. We are paying the price today for the failures of Obasanjo, GEJ and perhaps most significantly Buhari. By the same time the benefits of Tinubu’s reforms may not be seen till he leaves office. Buhari was always a mistake. This is not benefit of hindsight, I said it at the time he means well but he hasn’t got a clue how to manage an economy. I know because I was witness to Buhari as a military leader. I also said at the time that the virtues he had that many used to promote him (corruption fighter) he will not be able to implement as a civilian president. That said, Buhari did leave some legacies but the damage he did far outweighed them. His biggest failure was his failure to get refineries working for 8 years and tackle insecurity. In the same way I am saying and have said many times that Obi would have been a disaster because like Buhari you can see from his past that the man has no clue. Atiku would have been a cesspit of corruption because PDP boys are hungry. Hard as this may be for anyone, Tinububremainns the best of the 3, followed by Atiku. Obi has no business being a local govt chairman. Tinubu did not create Nigerias problems except for the fact that he helped install Buhari. If Tinubu cannot fix our problems, nobody can out of the 3. The most intellectually deficient argument is to criticize Buhari rightfully for his failures and then advocate Obi as president. It means you did not learn anything from the 8 years of Buhari. It means you are the problem of Nigeria, it means you desire and deserve bad governments. It means you lack what it takes to determine who will make a good leader, it means you don’t think right. I have said it many times, I never voted for Buhari in 2015 or 2019….neither did I vote for GEJ or Atiku. |
immortalcrown:Your initial post was about the national anthem. You corrected the errors and I dropped the matter. You are the one who now seems to want to focus on the language rather than the issue. Some of us know when to lay a matter to rest, focus on the issues and not flog a dead horse. It is not a battle of egos or a matter of “I win” or having the last word. That mindset is part of the problem we face as a people. |
Says the man who was a beneficiary of the man who truncated democracy. Says the man who refused to conduct democratic local government elections during his time. Says the man under whose watch citizens were killed and their bodies dumped ina river. |
immortalcrown:1: the problem with you people is that you feel a need to talk for talking sake, a need to criticize for sake of it. A country is only as good as its people. 2: while a change in the national anthem does not change the price of tomatoes. Those of us who were around in the days of the old anthem know that the view of the country from the perspective of the citizens then is different from the way citizens see the country today. It may be coincidental but the fortunes of the country started declining a few years after the change of the national anthem (declines are not felt immediately just as effects of progressive steps are not felt immediately. The new anthem was introduced in 1978, the economic challenges that paved the way for the coup that brought in Buhari started in 1982 and we’ve been going down hill for the last 40 yrs whichever govt had been in power. I am not saying it is because of the national anthem but every house is built on a foundation and the national anthem is part of the foundations of a country. I have never liked “arise o compatriots”, it never resonated with me. I never felt any call to arms or pride singing it the way I felt singing “Nigeria we hail thee” as a child. There is no country that you look to as a beacon of progress and development that does not have a national anthem that galvanizes the people. Arise o compatriots did not stir the soul and may be a subconscious reason or coincidental but we have gone downhill since it’s introduction. Yes it will not change the price of tomatoes. But if it is not a big deal, why make a big deal of it…what do you care? Personally I think it does. |
immortalcrown:Many youth being victims of a decayed education system will not understand the significance. People who don’t know the difference between “bitches” and “beaches”. |
Nonny95:It is not because she is a woman. It is because she is inexperienced and started antagonizing instead of learning the ropes as a new senator. She has a a sense off entitlement. Y the way did she collect her own jeep or constituency allowance? |
I stopped reading his nonsense when he mentioned Beyoncé. You criticize the old anthem because it was written by a foreigner but you need a. Foreigner to validate the one you wrote? I personally have never liked arise o compatriots and never liked the bland and boring green white green flag. |
StOla:Slaves. Both of them! What is pioneering in which slave is the first slave to be favoured by your master? How about celebrating your own Nigerian brand? How about celebrating that a Nigerian brand has conquered the world? How about developing a Nigerian brand that can be the go to for all blacks around the world? We are fighting over who was the first model for a white company making products for black people!! Can we not see our foolishness! Plus Temi, plus Oluchi, plus all the foooools that liked your post, plus all the foooools taking sides. |
A state anthem should be in the local dialect. |
Beremx:Once some people move to an area the area is guaranteed to go south. |
