PrayWills:When we tell people to avoid children of single mothers (both male and female) this is an example of why! They have no standards (family wise) to maintain. The mother cannot talk to her because she has no moral authority nor set an example herself. My advice to you is this: You already have children with her: you have nothing to gain by marrying g this woman and everything to lose. Treat this as a devine intervention. You have already made the mistake of having children with the child of a single mother, there is nothing you can do about that. You are probably thinking you can give them a stable home by marrying their mother, na lie. Your baby mama does not know what a stable home is and you cannot give what you don’t have and have never experienced. Be thankful she ended it because you are clearly not thinking straight!! Trust me you have nothing to gain from this marriage and everything to lose. The biggest decision a man will make in his life is who he chooses as his life partner, the second most important is who he has children with. You’ve made a mistake with no 2 don’t make a mistake with no1. The fact that you felt a need to say she was raised by a single mum means deep down you know the problem. Never ignore your own instincts. |
CrownedPhoenix:it is peanuts compared to shell’s operations in Nigeria. A probe should be undertaken as to why it is so low. |
“ The imposition of a Cybersecurity Levy on bank transactions is particularly sad given that the tax is on the trading capital of businesses and not on their profit ” The only sensible thing this man has uttered since since records began. |
codwyha:Colonial slave spotted |
OboOlora:The less developed a region, the less land ownership documentation. Reason is land is traditionally ancestral land and if there is no reason for formalized sale because there isnt much development going then there is no need for formalization of land ownership. A small scale farmer either has ancestral land or leases the land informally. People formalize land ownership when they are doing something with high value with it e.g building a house factory etc. it costs money for formalize land ownership. If you are not doing anything of high value with the land, most people will not go through the expense of obtaining proper documentation. All the land in Ajah likely had no formal documentation until development came (or they foresaw it coming) to the area at which point the owners did the survey, registered the title etc in readiness for the boom. Plus even if you are building a house on ancestral land in the village, there is no requirement under the law to formalize the ownership. |
This is a ridiculous charge |
Kukutente23:Oga stop disturbing me. I have told you, feel free not to use the road and drive to Calabar via Benin etc and wait for a govt with $30b annual budget to fix the roads. Like I said the problem of Nigeria are Nigerians. I have never seen where you give a begger a dirty N1000 note and he rejects it saying he wants a clean one….proving that a beggar is more intelligent than you are. |
Kukutente23:Feel free not to use the road and wait till a govt of $30b annual budget has the $15b to build a road of this nature or the money to fix existing roads. If I dont have the money to build a house of my own and and am throwing away dead money in rent every year and someone comes and says if you give me a commitment deposit, I will build a house for you, you can stay in it and pay me rent I would have thrown away to a landlord and after 25yrs the house is mine. I will take the deal any day! If I have my own money to build my house I can dictate which contractor builds my house. If you like start arguing nonsense as if if you work for 40 years you will be able to build the house, as if you would not have been paying the same rent for a house that will never belong to you. Like I said the problem of Nigeria are Nigerians. I have never seen where you give a begger a dirty N1000 note and he rejects it saying he wants a clean one? Consider yourself fortunate I responded to you after the nonsense you wrote in your last post. I won’t respond to you anymore. Feel free to go to Calabar from Lagos via sahagamu Benin road etc. |
Kukutente23:Read the nonsense you just wrote again and tell me the problem of Nigeria is not Nigerians themselves. To paraphrase Ben Bruce, “feel free not to use the road” and wait for the govt to find the money to fix existing roads from its own coffers. |
Kukutente23:Go and read the procurement act. This is EPC +F You are the ignoramus. If you have good English comprehension and know how to convert dollars to Naira, you will have seen where I said the project costs $15b and the govt is only providing $1b. Do I have to spell out the implications of that to you? |
Kukutente23:Go and read the procurement act. |
Kukutente23:You don’t. You are invited. The procedure for award/ bidding etc depends on the method of financing. For instance Tax credit road financing is different. The project is costing $15b, govt equity is $1b. The remaining $14b is not govt money. There is nothing like Govt’s N4T. |
Chicagograduate:You clearly have never built a house in Lagos. Secondly, why are they never able to present the building approvals when the bulldozers turn up? |
Is the $15b for Lagos Calabar govt money? No! Is they don’t build the Lagos Calabar road will the $15b go towards existing roads? No! Are they repairing existing roads? Yes But at a slow pace because we have no money! If they don’t construct Lagos Calabar will it make repairs on existing roads faster? No! Know the facts before you comment. Existing roads are being repaired but govt has no money so it is slow. The money for Lagos Calabar is not govt money and if you cancel the project the money will not go to existing g roads because it is not govt money. The money is not govt money and you don’t do competitive bidding when a private company is bringing its own money to finance a project. You do competitive bidding when the money you are spending is govt money. Atiku and Obi know these things but they just want to deceive ignorant and giluloible Nigerians. The audacity of Atiku to talk of corruption. @franking Read the bolded part |
Nightwolf1:The only thing worse than an illiterate is someone who can read but does not understand what he read. It is not the government constructing the Lagos Calabar road it is a private company. It is not government money. It is private money. They are willing to construct that road because that road is profitable for them. The other roads are not so they will not deploy their money there. Once again only $1b out of the $15b for Lagos Calabar is govt money, the remaining &14b is private money.. If you cancel the Lagos Calabar road you lose $14b worth of road construction that will not go to existing roads. Don’t forget that $14b creates other jobs, employs workers, supports many other industries like cement, quarry steel rods etc. |
Clearly the wofai girl herself is from a disreputable family. Which African family will conduct traditional wedding where the family of the groom refused to attend. It does not happen anywhere in African culture. It is a different matter if the 2 of them went behind their families and did a court marriage but an African family is performing a traditional wedding and no members of the opposite family? It is an abomination and no wonder the Cole family don’t want him to marry her. Also note: a traditional wedding not witnessed by the families is not recognized under Nigerian law. Go and verify |
tishbite42:This exactly why commoners and aristocrats do not marry. Your mindset is different, what is acceptable behaviour is different. Aristocrats are not loud, they control their behaviour, commoners have the mindset of I can do what I want, so you will end up disgracing the family. You keep having to explain to a commoner what is not acceptable behaviour, dressing what is private what is public. Someone with pedigree knows because it has been programmed into them from the upbringing. Note: being an aristocrat or having pedigree has nothing to do with money. Commoners do not understand this. There are rich commoners and struggling aristocrats. Under normal circumstances a rich commoner will still not be accepted. |
Nightwolf1:Most of you are ignorant illiterates. Dave Umahi has stated many times that all federal govt roads are being repaired. The problem is we do t have the money to repair all the roads quickly so work is slow. He stated categorically there are just under 3000 awarded road contract and there is none where work is not on going. Now a private company comes with a proposal to build a new transformational road with their own money. The road will cost $15b, the government will put down $1b, they will finance the rest and recoup their money from tolls. Mind you the entire budget for Nigeria is just under $30b. Should the govt say no? Is the $15b for Lagos Calabar govt money? No! Is they don’t build the Lagos Calabar road will the $15b go towards existing roads? No! Are they repairing existing roads? Yes But at a slow pace because we have no money! If they don’t construct Lagos Calabar will it make repairs on existing roads faster? No! Know the facts before you comment. Existing roads are being repaired but govt has no money so it is slow. The money for Lagos Calabar is not govt money and if you cancel the project the money will not go to existing g roads because it is not govt money. |
dominique:Just like meghan and Harry, this is why aristocracy and commoners do not mix. Commoners do not understand the ways of aristocracy and will eventually bring the family into disrepute. |
datola:I think fada is the name of the wife |
@haven2010 @christlikeo01 I hope you are seeing what is happening between this wofai and the Cole family. Any family with pedigree is very protective about who becomes a member of the family by marriage. You don’t develop a name over decades and centuries by intermarrying anyhow. You can’t just come from the streets and expect to be accepted. Thank God this is in Nigeria amongst blacks, I told you it is not because meghan is black or at least it is less because she is black but because her family has no pedigree. |
nobaga:You are missing the point. I am a firm advocate for reversing the inferiority complex and colonial mentality that we have as Nigerians, speaking in fake accents, having foreign names, always consuming western products and copying western way etc etc t. You will see this theme in my past posts whenever the need arose. I have even posted several times that I believed the biggest problem we have as a country is that our education is in English and not our native languages. That is a different matter, if your schools are bad they are bad. If you go to a bad school, most of your graduates are bad, it doesn’t mean you won’t have a few good ones but your university will gain a reputation for incompetent graduates and that reputation will contaminate the exceptional students just like a dullard who goes to a highly rated school will benefit even though he does not deserve it. If you go to a university that doesn’t have the right equipment, they don’t have the right equipment and that’s that, you can’t have the same knowledge and experience as a student who went to a university with that equipment. Foreign universities also have bad schools. How many Nigerian universities are rated? Universitiy of east London for instance is a 3rd tier university, Yet today It is ranked higher (851-890) than the highest ranked public university in Nigeria I.e University of Ibadan in 1057. It’s not that UEL is a bad university, it is just ok, it is average, it is just there, it is nowhere near the best and yet our best is ranked below it? In the 70s and early 80s our universities used to be ranked along some of the best in the world. In the good old days even university of Ibadan will not employ a lecturer who graduated from the university of east London. Put it this way, there was a time when a university of Ibadan degree was a university of London degree, that is how highly ranked our degrees were. Not equivalent to o! Not similar to, your degree from UI was B.sc London, same as someone who studied in London at imperial college, LSE etc etc., In the 70s and 80s our professor were renowned internationally, they were among the foremost authorities in their fields. That’s why we had professors like Wole Soyinka and chin-up Achebe, to name a few. How many Nigerian professors in public universities can hold their own with their international peers? The only exception is law. |
anthropizzy:You are naive! The real world doesn’t work like that. I actually hate foreign things and colo mentality. If you read my posts, you will see me saying it many times. I am telling you how the real world works. Even in England there are some universities you attend that the Goldman Sachs/citibanks of this world will never employ you. Why? Because they go to schools like Oxford/Cambridge/LSE/City/ to recruit interns even before they graduate. You attend university of east London you go apply tire with your 1st class, all you will get is thank you for sending your CV. They have already recruited the people they want to recruit for the star roles….investment banking trading floor etc. if they recruit you, they are recruiting g you for lesser roles like , accounts, IT and admin. The opportunity for you never exists because your school is not among the schools they go to to recruit. You then have to work your way through a lesser company and prove yourself there and earn a reputation then they may try to poach you. Argue all you like about what should be, I am telling you what is. It doesn’t mean you won’t get a job or that good companies won’t employ you but you are at a disadvantage and some companies won’t even consider you. This is due to both real and perceived bias. There is politics and conscious and subconscious bias in everything including recruitment. Nobody ever said the world was fair. Your duty is to give yourself the best advantage and not to handicap yourself. There are many intelligent people struggling in life because they do t get opportunities and there are many dullards supervising the intelligent. Why? Perception, connnections and access determines the quality of opportunities available to you, where and how far you get to in life than your intellect. It is the same all over the world. The quicker you get this the better for you. |
nedu666:I think part of the reason or the reasons they will give is because of the protests and destruction of the toll booths. I am not holding brief for hi tech or Tinubu. I am just stating the facts as the are today. The road is not being built by the govt. …that is a major flaw in the arguments by the likes of Obi and Arise tv crew. If the project fails like it did with lekki then people can have a point but let us make the right (and factual) points when we argue. |
Blazetrailer:Time will tell, We shall see. |
SoNature:I have watched his videos, he has said it countless times. If you have watched his videos you wouldn’t be saying that except you just want to cause problems. He said it when responding to Atiku, he said it when responding to Pandora. The entire project is to cost about $15b, govt is only paying $1b. That is why it did. Or go through the normal bid process. |
SoNature:The main thing many people who claim to be knowledgeable (Obi and Rufai) seem to miss is that the project is not being wholly financed by the govt. Government is only paying about 10%. Umahi has said this many times but they never seem to hear or want to hear. Government is paying for the 1st 34 Km out of 700km. |
anthropizzy:Did I say so? Your response alone shows the problem with Nigerian graduates. Your English comprehension is poor. Of course they will employ Nigerian graduates but there are graduates that are deployed to the less career progressive parts of the business and there are those that are deployed to the star roles. They are not going to send a graduate from Oxford or LSE to mundane roles. The minute the are employed they are seen as future CEOs with international connections from their universities, they are groomed as such. You on the other hand have to prove yourself. Secondly, a firm like IBTC will get the best of the Nigerian graduates. I never said all Nigerian public university graduates are bad. What I also said is that there are certain public universities that will never make it into a company like IBTC. |
anthropizzy:Oga I am telling you the reality. Life is not about what is fair, life is about what happens in reality. When you advertise for a job, you get many CVS, hundreds sometimes thousands, nobody has time to look through all of them. You need to give an employer a reason to stop and even read your CV. If it is a computer that is sifting through your CV, it is looking for key words. If it is a human, the 2 things that will make him a recruiter to read your CV are the university you attended and/ or your class of degree. If a university has a good reputation, I will stop to read the CV, if it has a bad reputation or I have encountered a graduate from that University that turned out to be a quack, the next time I see that university, I won’t even read it except I see 1st class. This is why sometimes when you apply for the best jobs at the best companies they don’t even reply because your Cv was not even read. Say you apply for a job at one of the top law firms in the country, the law firms know which Nigerian universities have goodie the best law programs. You are also competing with people who went to Cambridge , LSE, Oxford as well as 2nd tier UK universities like Coventry, Sheffield, surrey etc. so when you send your Cv with Michael Okpara university, it will never get read. Among Nigerian universities, the guy from LASU or Unilag, UI or Covenant will be always be ahead of you. It is only the jobs where these graduates do not apply to that your Cv may get a looked at. Even then you better have a 1st class.- This is how recruitment works in the real world even abroad. You either go to the best schools or you try and get noticed by having a 1st class. As far as talent, sometimes you are not employed for your talent but your connections. |
Renman:The article you posted shows the calibre of the journalist that wrote the article and lack of credibility. Forbes or no Forbes. N400,000 was not $1200 in 1982. He either started the business with $600,000 or N800…that was the exchange rate in 1982. Somebody who could not even get that right clearly has rendered his entire article lacking in credibility. He clearly also does not know that “alumna” is used only for women. If you investigate the so callled Harvard, I am sure like many Nigerians these days who claim to have attended Harvard, just like Peter Obi they attended a 1 week course which is open to anybody if you can pay. |
maasoap:At the university of Ibadan, They only just increased it to 500k, it was that same 20k up until a month ago. |
