rertylentl:Some of you people are ignorant of the workings of high level government. He might be the most powerful person in the country but there are people he answers to or does what they say. Just like a man can be the head of a family but in the house madam runs the house and the Mai guard is the one that determines whether you can enter the compound or not. Tinubu can tell you “come and see me” and genuinely want to see you and for the duration of his presidency you are not able to see him because the gatekeepers deny you access. There are ministers that will never see a president for a one on one private meeting throughout his tenure, whose memos will never get read by the president because the gatekeepers have blocked it. You may be president but you do as you are told on certain matters. If You say you want to go somewhere and you only need 5 DSS to follow you, they will tell you sorry you need 30 and unless the figure is 30, you are going nowhere and there is nothing you can do as president. A president can’t just visit even his own friend, he will have to inform DSS who will send an advanced party to scan your property for bombs etc. Even Obama had to fight to keep his famous blackberry phone. As president they wanted to confisticate it from him. Bottom line you may be president but you are government property and on certain matters you do as you are told. |
When we elect daft people this is what you get. The countries where rent is paid monthly have monthly mortgages so the landlord pays his mortgage monthly from his monthly rent. The landlord does not build his house, he buys the house with a small deposit and pays a monthly mortgage. This man should Instead focus on his colleagues who are causing properties to rise in value because they are are laundering their I’ll gotten wealth purchasing Abuja properties and deliberately keeping them empty because they did t work to build them and they don’t want tenants who will expose the true landlords. |
Love800:Go back to the word “identical” in my scenario. That is why I inserted the word and reiterated it. If both farms are identical then your questions are irrelevant. As for the rest with due respect, your other comments are an understandable sense of entitlement of a country that has been built on a legacy of subsidy in all aspects of life. Let me break it down to you. Nobody owes you anything, nobody owes you a job. Having a job is a privilege not an entitlement. You are entitled to what you created, you don’t create your job as an employee so you are not entitled to it. You retain the job based on your performance on the job and/or the pleasure and goodwill of your employer. Painful to hear but fact! The reason workers are collecting salaries at our refineries despite producing nothing for years is a result of a culture of entitlement, inefficiencies in government etc. if they were private sector refineries they would all have been sacked within 6 months of the refineries not producing. An entrepreneur created his own job and that of others so he has earned the right to pay himself what he likes and his staff what the market can accommodate. If you don’t like it you can find another job. That’s just the way it is. That is the privilege of self employment and the drawback of depending on others to Crete a job for you.. A job by definition is you selling selling yourself to someone because of your inability to create an independent means of livelihood. If you like the conditions you stay, if you don’t you are free to test your worth in the market. |
Love800:You have 2 identical farms: Farm 1 produces 1tonne of maize but employs only 1 farm worker. Farm 2 produces the same 1 tonne of maize but has 5 workers and they can’t be sacked because they are part of a union. The selling price of maize in the market it is N10m per tonne. Note I said the farms are identical: Q1 What is the output/value/ of each worker in each farm and How much should the farm worker on each farm earn? Q2 should workers in farm 1 and farm 2 earn the same? Q3 should I take from the productive worker in farm 1 to subsidize the unproductive workers in farm 2? Q4 how do you increase the income of a farm 2 worker? If you can answer these questions, you will have gone a long way to understanding the problem of the Nigerian worker and lack of productivity. Why their wages are so low and why they will continue to remain low. Bottom line. The output of the farm is 10m, if you have 1 farmer his income is 10m, if you have 5 their income is 2m. There is no money from anywhere to increase that income because the farm is the source of income. If 3 workers leave the farm then the remaining 2 can do the same job and earn 5m each. If all 4 leave to new identical farms then all farmers will earn 10m each but all 5 cannot stay on the same farm doing nothing or doing the work of 1 man and expect to earn anything more than N2m each. Every Civil servant or Refinery worker who collects a salary for doing nothing for over a decade is the reason you cannot pay the DPR, PPMC or civil servant who actually works a higher salary. So when labor threaten to strike and say govt cannot sack the idle refinery workers or civil servants, then they must be prepared to shared their salaries with them which is why wages are low because it is from the output of the man who is working that they are paying the man who is collecting a salary but not doing any work. |
ositadima1:This is my one criticism of this govt. they have not tightened their belts in line with the realities of the day even if only symbolic. |
Nigeria’s GDP per capita is approximately $2,000. That means the output of the average Nigerian worker is only N3m a year. This is not the lowest worker, this is the average of all workers from cleaner to CEO, meaning the output of the minimum wage worker is a lot less than 3m a year. Yet this same Nigerian worker wants to earn N600k a month or N7m as a minimum wage. He wants to earn more than his output. No be JUju be that? The problem with Nigeria is our workers are very unproductive. In the us the GDP per capita is $70k therefore it makes sense that the minimum wage is $15k. In the UK GDP per capita is $40,000, minimum wage is $15,700 p.a. Nigerian workers want to earn not just more than their output but more than the average output. The Nigerian worker has no business asking for more than N80k per month as a minimum wage based on his output. I understand living conditions but the figures don’t lie. The Nigeria. Worker does not have a productivity level to justify anything above N80k a month minimum wage. When you consider how little that is, It’s actually scary how unproductive our workers are and how inefficient our economy is. |
weyreypey:I doubt it was Wike’s contract. I suspect it was a contract awarded by Amaechi but completed under Wike’s early years and for which he refused to pay. It is not unusual that when a political successor is not good terms with his predecessor. Payments for contracts awarded by the predecessor are not honored or delayed at best. Why? Because often the awardee is an ally of the predecessor and the incumbent May see it as funding his opponents. Plus the contracts are often inflated in which case there was enough margin even if final payment is not made. I am not saying it is right. Just just how it is sometimes. Why is the contractor writing g letter in 2023 for jobs he completed in 2016 and 2017? |
Ensa777:Thankfully someone has sense and noticed. If they haven’t paid you for jobs you say you completed in 2016 and 2017, then there is more to the story. |
Considering the dates, I suspect these are Amaechi contracts that Wike refused to honour. |
DMerciful:By visiting saints like Atiku, Saraki and Lamido. |
Somebody that can never become president of Nigeria, why are they worrying themselves over what he will do? |
….and who was the accountant general? |
Lizzysamuel:Oga go and study social studies before you even think of politics 101. You were all in PDP, you had 14m votes, you didn’t gree for anybody, you went your seperate ways and lost to the man with 8m votes, now you are visiting up and down as if “united we stand” is a concept you just invented, for what to happen? For Atiku to step down for Obi or for Obi to step down for Atiku? What caused division in 2023 will cause division in 2027 because it’s in the DNA of PDP. Know these facts: 1) Nigeria will never vote for Peter obi as president, whatever party he is in. He is unelectable. He might be popular amongst his supporters but as you saw from 2023, his supporters are not enough, they are not the ones he needs to convince. The problem with Obi is that his opponents despise him with more energy than his supporters love him. He is the kind of person that you either will vote him come rain or sunshine or God forbid even if hell freezes over, there is no changing people’s minds on Obi for or against. So if he didn’t have the votes in 2023, he won’t get any additional votes in 20027. 2) the north will not risk Atiku because by 2027 he will be too old for 2 terms and they do not want Obi as president via the Jonathan route. 3) Atiku and Obi are bad market, none of them can become president. If PDP and OBi are smart and want SE President their best chance is unite behind someone like Chidoka…..but the same thing that destroyed them in 2023 will consume them again….ego, desperation and a lack of strategic thinking! 4) plus it is difficult for a fresh face from the south to become president as that will mean a possible 12 years of southern presidency, the north would rather let Tinubu finish his 8 years. If there is one thing we know about the North, when it comes to politics, they are strategic and play the long game. |
If you have seen houses of people who built in approved zones destroyed by flooding caused by those who built illegally on canals, you will feel no sympathy for the illegal home owners. More legal houses have been destroyed by flooding than the houses built illegally on drainage canals that have been or will be bulldozed. And when I say destroyed not all destruction is physical. There are many homes where due to flooding their homes are sick bays and a magnet for diseases due to stagnant water. |
ThunderFireAgba:Scroll through my posts pre election. Many times I stated how the elections would turn out and why. I got the same abuses are you are giving today. I was right and I will again prove to be right come 2027. I am analytical, you and your lot are emotional…that’s why you never make progress. Beyond all the noise abuse and propaganda, elections are nothing but simple arithmetic. I repeat neither Atiku nor Obi will ever become president of Nigeria. They had it o. A platter of gold and they blew it. Look at the dates, well before the election. I am no genius, I just think analytically not make judgements based on emotion. The reason I can confidently tell you why you lost and why you will lose again is because I know you never use your brains and will always have act out of emotions time and time again. Human beings are very predictable. Winners keep on winning because they think like winners and losers keep in losing because they have the mindset of losers. PDP are losers, their winning era was predicated on an era of rigging with impunity. As it became harder to rig so also their fortunes dived. They don’t have a strategic brain between them all. Anyone with any iota of sense has long left PDP. As for Obidients they are the definition of emotional and brain dead! casualobserver: casualobserver: casualobserver: casualobserver: casualobserver:July 2022 casualobserver: |
cococandy:BS! If you investigate well they are the same people giving us a bad name everywhere. If you had anything about you as a Nigerian, India Vietnam are not the type of countries on your destinations list. The type of Nigerians that go there are the ones that give us a bad rep, the ones who cannot go to other countries. |
proeast:This is why despite being a dual citizen, I refuse to live anywhere but Nigeria. If you want to be respected, stay at home and fix your country. You want to benefit from countries whose citizens Labored to grow their countries and you expect to be respected? |
Eriokanmi:Game? Game wey ref don blow full time since 2023? |
Sapasenator:By definition an Obidient does not know or recognize intelligence. Anyone who can put Obi on a pedestal is by definition devoid of intellect. Their academic and governance records speak for themselves. One for a 1st class in quantity surveying one got a 3rd class in philosophy. To start with you don’t get admitted to QS in a Nigerian university in those days unless you are brilliant, whereas philosophy was a course for those who were rejected for their chosen course. Nobody fills his university or JAMB form saying he wants to study philosophy, not even 2nd or third choice….am I lying? Nobody does that! You end up with philosophy because no one else applies, they always have vacancies and they will take anyone so long as you have credits. You study philosophy just to get in in the hope you can transfer to the course of your choice after a year. Clearly he failed. The dumbest students study philosophy. Even education you will see students who apply to study education nobody applies for philosophy. Furthermore the legacies of one in government is still being spoken about years after he left office whereas the other cannot point to anything he did except invest government funds in family businesses. Butter is not the food of monkeys as we say in my part of the country. |
Eriokanmi:Only someone daft would think that ElRufai with his brilliance will ever agree to be paired with a dunce like Obi. |
Nyamiriflathed:They will still fight because 1) Atiku wants to be president. 2). Obi after all his noise cannot step down for Atiku 3) south presidency advocates in the SS will not agree for Atiku. 4). North (master of the game) know it is better to re-elect Tinubu for 4 yrs and have 8 straight years than an Atiku who may not complete his 2 terms and usher in an Obi like Jonathan 5) Everybody except Obidients know Obi is unelectable. The opportunity was 2023 and they scored an own goal. Now that opportunity is gone for good for both men. |
SocialJustice:Do you have any sense? |
1000Capacity:Not interested. I’ve seen enough, read enough and know enough about our people to know we have an inferiority complex no self respect, no pride and no dignity. |
1000Capacity:This narrative is old. It’s not what the white man thinks of us or did to us that matters but what we think of ourselves and evidently we have no self respect or dignity. We have been “independent” for 64 years!! |
1000Capacity:Competition among slaves for who is most worthy to receive the rejects and castoffs of the slave master. The most repugnant slave is a slave who doesn’t know he is a slave. |
If you want to know the problem of the black man and why Nigeria is very unlikely to ever be a developed nation just read this thread and weep for the damage that has been done to the pysche of the black man. |
PDP have no shame! Fayose has told them, they are a state level party now. |
That ilemona guy is a complete fuul. Always tweeting nonsense. The irony is he is actually an educated guy and a lawyer. His silver spoon mates like ElRufai and Audu are doing things in power. He is there always making a mockery of his upbringing on Twitter sounding like a most unintelligent person. |
That ilemona guy is a complete fuul. Always tweeting nonsense. The irony is he is actually an educated guy and a lawyer. |
Amumaigwe:How is that receiving sense? Unlike you I already have sense which is why I know a dullard can occasionally speak the truth. That a dullard says the truth does not mean he is not a dullard. Obi will always remain a dullard and as you have shown so also his followers. You on the other hand clearly have no sense because you are celebrating your broken clock which tells the correct time 2 minutes out of the 1440 minutes in a day! You guys are daft not small!!! |
