Sule Lamido said PDP have only 3 governors and that 2 of them will defect leaving only 1 governor. Officially they have 8 Rivers, Plateau, Taraba, Osun for sure are on their way out or only there in name I don’t know the fifth. However more intriguing is that he is implying that one of Makinde and Bala will leave the PDP. |
malali:Next time, I suggest you read the constitution before you comment on the constitution. Indigenes of states is recognized by the constitution. Section 147 (3j recognizes indigenes of states Section 46 4 (b) 1 also differentiates between indigent citizens and citizens. Therefore recognizing indigenes as separate qualification from ordinary citizens. The constitution under “definitions” in Part IV. Section 318 (1j also recognizes indigenes of a state as people whose grandparents were members of the community indigenous to that state. Not a member of a community in that state but a community indigenous to that state. Under the constitution as defined in section 318, you are only recognized as “belonging” to a state if your grandparents are a member of an Indigenous community from that state. An ibo man can never be an indigene of Lagos under the constitution no matter how long he is resident in Lagos. |
Richtaiwo:It’s very easy for military officers to shout uniform, uniform. They should also respect the uniform by not debasing the uniform by sending a uniformed officer to oversee or be involved in a civil matter. I am not siding Wike or the officer or the retired Naval chief. All messed up. People forget that this officer was disparaging a similarly uniformed police officer! He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. No one’s hands is clean in this, plus Wike who called a uniformed officer a fool, plus the officer who abused the policemen and dispaaraged the police as an institution and the retired naval chief who sent his ADC to settle a civilian matter. All have blame! |
mascot87:Very sensible post wasted on people who are not sensible! |
Always be wary of people who don’t pay their staff or pay them poorly or delay their salaries and make big donations in public. They are manipulative and insincere. |
Being an Obidient |
I said ages ago 1) obi will not get 4m votes in 2027 2) those who genuinely want change and the Ibos who want an Ibo president will realize they wasted their time and energies backing Peter Obi and once they realize it, they will turn against him. 3) the full realization of the harm the Obidient movement and Obi have done to the idea of an Ibo presidency will soon become apparent. 4) Obi is a fraud. |
No developing country of significant population has ever moved from developing to developed or become a great country adopting another man’s language. The best and brightest will find themselves in foreign countries powering their economy and the dull as exemplified by the majority on Nairaland will be left to power an economy that will forever be developing. English guarantees we will remain a pool of manpower for advanced nations |
obi4eze:Again making assumptions that I am a mouthpiece of the government simply because I corrected you is not a sign of good education. A well educated person knows when to put bias and emotion aside and made statements based on facts available. Your opinion of me is not based on any fact. As for what the borrowed monies have been used for. I am not a mouthpiece of government. Secondly since you claimed to have gone to school, surely you know where to look for the information you require or else what is the value in your education? I can tell you they are freely available and those who are properly educated know where to go. You can start by looking at the budget. Again not all education is good education. Finally if you are not well versed in economics or any subject then don’t comment on it, certainly don’t comment authoritatively. There is no greater evidence of educated ignorance. |
obi4eze:Many are “educated” few are knowledgeable. This is how it works. 1) at the beginning of the year, the executive presents a budget. This budget will detail how much is required to be funded via borrowing. This is called the deficit. 2) when parliament approved the budget, (12 months ago) they also approve the borrowing. Approval of borrowing in January does not. Mean the borrowing takes place in January. It knows it is going to need borrowing to fund the budget, it doesn’t do the actual borrowing until it is needed. If I need to borrow to build a house of N500m, I get a loan facility from the bank but I only draw on the loan as I need or else I will pay interest on the whole 500m when I am not actually using it. Let’s say every stage in he building of a house takes a month. I will borrow to do the foundation, once finished I collect part of the loan to do the walls, once finished I collect another portion to do decking, walls, roof, finishing and so on. Even though I have approval, If I took the whole loan at once I will be paying interest every month for N500m I am not utilizing. Each time I finish one stage and need more, I go to the bank and say I need some more money from the loan you have approved, it’s the same loan, just that I am collecting it it stages as I need it. Education is not a scam, it is only a scam if your education is of poor quality. What the government Is doing is going back to the senate to take part of the loans already approved as part of the budget. They are not new loans. Go to good school and your lives will be better for it. |
Mrfixitt:You guys don’t display that education on Nairaland or social media……on the contrary, one asks…….. |
mikeapollo:Sanusinwas talking nonsense. All he displayed was a lack of understanding of how the sector works. The figures Sanusi claimed are mathematically impossible. Sanusi seemed to think when we say crude is $X a barrel, all goes to the government. Most of our production is done on a JV sharing agreement. Some are 60/40, some are 50/50. On average for every barrel of crude, only half belongs to the country, the other half belongs to the oil company. It doesn’t end there, there is cost of production and it is only after the cost of production that the profit is shared. So for example. If crude sells for $65 and cost of production in $30, the profit on every barrel is $35. Out of which in a case of a 60/40 JV only $21 goes to the government. Sanusi was basing his calculations at the time on the price of crude of $65 not our actual share of $21. This is why i always say we are some of the most ig. Nor. Rant educated people on earth. A lawyer will start to comment authoratively on a subject in medicine he knows nothing about. A banker suddenly becomes an expert in the oil industry because he is the CBN governor. The thing with Nigerians also is once they take a position, even when they realise they are wrong they continue rather than accept they were not well informed. Not saying there isn’t corruption but please make it make sense. |
Namaster:You should have stopped there to pause for a while and think, we are talking about $150billion. From where? How can you steal N2 from someone who only had N1? Sometimes we need to ask ourselves, does it even make sense? Over what period, from where, how many rigs were active over the last few years, how much was crude during this period, what was our production levels, how much was remitted, so where did A missing $150b come from? This are the questions an educated man asks. That’s why he is sent to school. |
ALTERNATEID:Honestly, we elevate too many nonentities |
press9jatv:The unschooled, the unwashed, hillbillies, the untutored, the uncultured, the lowbrow, the unlettered use words like “powerful”. By using such crude terms they are unable to decipher the subject in question because power is a very broad term. It’s the language of beer parlors and motor parks. The schooled, the lettered the enlightened understand use words like authority and seniority. The inability to distinguish is why you fail to understand what everyone else can. There is a difference between seniority and authority. A SAN is a senior lawyer, but he has no authority in the law firm of another lawyer. A professor in the department of Biology is senior to a lecturer in the department of English but he has no authority over a student, lecturer or activities in the dept of English. A cabinet member is senior to any official in any ministry whether customs, military, agric but he only has authority over his own ministry. A cabinet member is senior to every single military officer. The only minister who has authority over the military is the minister of defense. Have a good day and try to enrol in some adult education classes online.
|
press9jatv:To start with you are using the language of an illiterate not someone who was properly schooled. I have explained the hierarchy to you.

While Wike cannot give orders to any military or armed forces personnel. He outranks every single military personnel including the chief of defense. |
press9jatv:My friend go to school! Your education is faulty. Are service chiefs not appointees if the president? A minister is senior to the chief of defense staff who is the most senior officer of the armed forces. The only difference is that ministries are compartmentalized. As such, just as a minister of agriculture cannot give orders to a staff in the ministry of interior, a minister of FCT cannot give orders to members of the military without clearance from the minister of defense. I All service chiefs report to the minister of defense who is the equivalent rank as any other minister. So while like I said, a minister only has authority within his ministry, ALL, I repeat ALL minisiters are superior to ALL military personnel! If you don’t get this you need to get a refund on your education. This is the hierarchy President minisiters (operating as representative of the president) Employees of ministries. HINT: all armed forces are employees of the the ministry of defense. They are employed and paid by ministry of defense, they present their budgets via the ministry of defense. |
press9jatv:You are wrong! The president is the commander in chief. The cabinet are devolved powers of the CinC. A minister is an ambassador of the president and operates with power of the president as designated. All service chiefs take orders from the minister of defense. Therefore you can see that a minister is superior to any service chief talk less a retired one or a junior officer. |
buygala:Retired service chiefs are entitled to an ADC for life. The question is whether this officer is his ADC. However as I have said, irrespective of whether he is his ADC or not, he has no right using him to engage in illegal acts. |
frank33:If only you had stopped them when they were borrowing to pay subsidies. Subsidies that ended up in pockets of petrol mafia and burnt in exhaust pipes with nothing to show. You build a road and it is there forever. If we had not borrowed to pay subsidies floor decades, imagine what our road and rail networks would be like today! |
press9jatv:He is also clearly guilty of abuse of power and bigmanism even in retirement! Add that to his CV |
press9jatv:The president is the governor of the FCT. The president is elected. The president appoints a minister to perform his role as governor of the FCT on his behalf. T A person appointed as a minister has the authority of the person elected as president within the confines of that portfolio. In this case the FCT. So it does not matter if he was personally elected or not. He carries the full authority of the elected president. Focus your attentions on the retired navy chief. That’s the cause of the problem. |
press9jatv:Wike is a representative of the president and the governor of Abuja. He is in custodian of ALL lands in the FCT. The president is the commander in chief of the armed forces. The young officer is merely following orders and I don’t see any fault on his part. As for Wike, his error was the use of the word “fool”. Otherwise no fault. The real problem here for me is the retired chief of Naval staff who did not follow the law and put his assigned officer in the firing line for his misdeeds. |
stop celebrating nonsense or trying to use the unjustifiable to justify the nonsense you do with ill motive in other people's land. the title Oba means King. First of all an Oba is a King. To be called an oba there must be historical obaship and kingdom. Who is his ancestor in ibo land that made him Oba? Who are his subjects, where is his kingdom? where is the land that belongs to the crown? Even in yorubaland someone like him would not bear the title of an Oba, at best he would be a baale or community leader. For any yoruba man to declare himself an Oba in another man's land is sacrilegious and an abomination. If you allow nonsense, or allow any ill brought up yoruba man to call himself Oba in your land probably because you dont know what it means to be an Oba because it is not part of your culture, that is your business but dont use it an excuse to declare Ezes or justify nonsense in yoruba land. |
i thought he said there was no law under which he is being currently tried? the man has seen his future and it is not as a free animal in the "Zoo" but as a caged animal in a proper Zoo where members of the public can watch a monkey in Fendi perform tricks. |
Adakintroy:Let him fight his fellow prisoners for his freedom. |
