PDPdestroyer:Exactly and that’s why it will never happen! If there is one prediction I can safely make, it is that if Nigeria remains as a country and the Ibos remain a part of it, a baby born today will die without witnessing an Ibo as president or vice president. We have not gotten over the 1966 coup and they feel the best thing to do is to lobby a superpower to threaten or invade our country? We will never forget! |
tishbite41:They are past tense just like Ironsi and Azikwe. It’s not going to happen again! |
3Ceagle:Just know that so long as there is a Nigeria with Ibos in it, there will never be an Ibo president. At this rate I’m not sure anyone wants to take a risk of even a VP. |
CIA agent! When they say America spent &690m a year via USAID to enable Islamic terrorism in Nigeria, these are the people they used. |
Burruchaga71:Kanu will not be released. He will serve his term. Can you imagine the outrage in the North of Tinubub releases him knowing full well that it was IPOB that lobbied the likes of Ted Cruz to start a religious war against them?
|
Richtaiwo:Ibos should perish any thought of ever becoming president of Nigeria ever! They have just sealed the fate of the Ibos politically. Nigeria may break up but if Nigeria remains an Ibo will never be president. They have just lost any votes they hadn’t already lost and this is not just Peter Obi. The whole country knows this is the handiwork of the Ibos and they will reap the political rewards. Go and read Arewa Twitter, there are all saying give them their Biafra! Are those the people who are going to vote for an Ibo president? Trump cannot install Peter Obi. There is no magic they can do to get the votes. |
destinychildolu:. I hope you have dual citizenship like me because when the US invades a country. Only 2 outcomes they destroy the country or they destroy the country and it ends up a vassal state. |
Like I said before the Ibos are behind this. Here is their paid lobbyist taking credit!
|
Gerhards:It is people like you that have given them a way in and I shall have no pity on you when you reap the rewards of your betrayal of your country. You have no idea what’s coming next. There is no country that the US has gone to that has EVER come out better. Absolutely None! Go and ask the Iraqis, the Libyans, the Syrians etc who invited the US to their country, thinking they would benefit. There is always an opposition faction that gives them the excuse for invasion. Nigeria is gone! |
When we told you thank God for Putin and China you uncle Toms were all bowing down to America. Some of us have British passports and homes abroad. When they have finished turning Nigeria into a wasteland you will finally know who your friends are and who are your enemies. Welcome to liberation American style. You can consult the Libyans, IRAqis, Syrians, Sudanese etc on how to cope in IDP camps or how to cope as refugees. I will be in England watching your plight on sky news! |
esnbrutality:I know you read it the reason you claim you didn’t is because I exposed you and you have no response but that’s irrelevant. Normally when I see people like you especially someone with such a handle, I block immediately. When I respond to someone like you, my post isn’t for you. I post because Nairaland has a wide audience. My post was for people to stop and think for a second……if these people truly want Biafra why aren’t their elected representatives agitating for the secession, referendum or regional autonomy. Why are they looking for more states and indigineshipmof states in a country they want to leave. Why aren’t they on the cases of their elected representatives for not representing their interests, why do they re-elect them? Because the whole Biagfra agitation is emotional blackmail/ gaslighting tactic. The ibos are the only tribe that would be ruined if they left Neria and they know it. |
esnbrutality:Let’s examine the evidence, you have elected representatives. There is a constitutional review ongoing. None of your representatives have put forward any a,amendment to include referendum, secession or regional autonomy. Instead they are canvassing for more states, and the right to be indigenes in other peoples ancenstral homes. Who is the unity bigger? That seems to be your latest gaslighting weapon. Go and meet your representatives and demand they fight for Biafra if that is what you truly want. You won’t because you have been exposed. The ibos are the biggest beneficiaries of Nigeria, you need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs you. What does a Yoruba ,an lose if the ibos go? What does the North lose if the ibos go? What do the SS lose if the ibos go? You have no seaport, food or resources. that rest of Nigeria depends on. The only reason the North accommodates you is not because they fear the exit of the ibos but they fear that if hey grant you secession, other minority tribes in the North will demand to to leave. That is the biggest fear of the anorth, they don’t have a leader like Ahmad’s Bello who can keep them together. No northerner wants to be the one who presides over the break up of the North. You know this and you use secession to blackmail and claim more than your fair share. You overestimate your importance. A parasite is an organism that enters its host, needs its host for its survival and kills it from within. Like I said table your requests before the National Assembly. You will be shocked at the support you will get. I have always said, call their bluff and give ibos the right to secede. When it dawns on them, they are the ones that will be lobbying not to be excised from Nigeria. |
RoiSoleil:We didn’t even speak yoruba in my house until I was in secondary school. So how can a household who didn’t groom its children to speak yoruba care about Ibos or tribe? And that was the fatal error of our parents generation that we are now correcting, they raised us to be “western” forgetting our culture and traditions while others held on steadfastly to theirs. The major issue with the Ibos was the civil war and the coup. People don’t seem to understand that unless something affects you directly, you can’t really care deeply about it. The civil war did not occur in yoruba land, life went on as normal. As for the coup, Akintola was seen as a traitor at the time so we didn’t really care that much that he was killed. We had no emotional investment in either the coup or the civil war to have a lifelong emotional fallback like the Ibos. The coup and the civil war was something we learnt in school as part of history and that was the end of it. It is only as an adult that I am now on my own reading past history of Nigeria and seeing that the playbook of the Ibos didnt start today. And I speak for many of my friends I. Incan also tell you that now when we speak amongst ourselves, what we are discovering is that many of the Ibos who grew up with us express certain opinions and we are thinking to ourselves. So this people felt this way all that while? Things have changed. I always say thanks to the internet is we wouldn’t know how the Ibos amongst us truly felt! It started around 2015 when Buhari won and they started calling us Afon…. This thing didn’t start when Tinubu We were doing one Nigeria, they were doing Ibo first. Now it is yoruba first and if anyone wants to call us bigots we shall take the label as a badge of honour. Because it means you aren’t getting your way anymore and the gaslighting is no longer working. |
chiagozien:Believe what you want. Just know going forward things have changed. |
chiagozien:This one you have started, you will forever pay for it. We are not our liberal accommodating parents. My parents never said anything to me about Ibos like I said but I will make sure I do t make that mistake with my children. And even in all of this, it’s not that we hate Ibos but nobody will know the plan of the enemy and open his door for him to execute his plans. The audacity of an Ibo man to actually say to me that the problem of the Yorubas is that we are not alive to our responsibilities. Well we are now! |
chiagozien:Nobody brought up Yorubas to hate Ibos. If my parents ever mentioned Ibos to me as a child or even as an adult may God curse my entire generation with incurable afflictions. Not once in my entire life did my parents ever talk about ibos to us talk less preach any hate. Not once did I hear any degoratory word used against Ibos from my parents. I grew up in an environment where we saw ourselves as Nigerians, your actions have changed that. it is your actions thanks to the internet and your migration in significant numbers that has shown us your true feelings towards us and we are responding accordingly. If we were brought up to hate you, we would not be the only ones who returned your properties and the place you all ran to after the end of the civil war. |
Adaisback:What a joke! Who on earth migrates to a wasteland? When a yoruba leaves the SW he either goes to Abuja or he goes abroad. No one leaves his homeland to a place worse than where he comes from. To do what there? |
Stricker321:Reading low level comments like this and one understands now why It was so easy to colonize Africa. If you go back in history we were the ones that willingly signed “protection” pacts with the colonizers. |
Petersamuel8:If you think any of the elite or the govt officials will suffer, watch this video. This is the son of the man who staged the coup that removed Shonekan and brought Abacha into power. Hear him tell you how his family was living in luxury in the same USA during the Abacha regime despite “sanctions”.
|
Petersamuel8:Nobody cares about the US anymore. The world has changed. The days are gone when traveling to the US was the be all and end all. At best it would be a minor irritation. |
destinychildolu:Where exactly is the intelligence in your comment! |
LegendHero:To start with condemning one incident is not the same as saying there is an orchestrated genocide. When you say how will Obi benefit from this, we are talking about people who have over the course of our history shown they don’t see beyond their noses. When it comes to politics they can’t see beyond the immediate and all they focus on is the immediate. Everything that has set us back as a country, everything that the same Ibos call for today was something the Ibos themselves enabled at the time for short term victory without understanding the long term implication and in the end they only set themselves and the country backwards. Secession clause 1966 coup, and introduction of unitary govt Right to Referendum Federating units and full autonomy Resource control Are these not the bases of our problems? Who removed the good and enabled the bad? Was it not the Ibos is their usual manner of not seeing beyond their noses? Again they are at it! The Ibo man will burn down his house to kill a rat in the house and then turn around to anyone who cares to listen that he is homeless and it was his neighbor who caused his homelessness. His brothers in the US are the ones lobbying for this. There is nothing America loves like an intellectually challenged and compliant puppet in charge of a country with huge resources. It’s no surprise Obi has been characteristically quiet. |
LegendHero:Obi and IPOB and Ibos and Biafra are one and the same. By O’tega Ogra A proscribed terrorist organisation in Nigeria has learnt to speak fluent Washington. Its grammar is lobbying. Its vocabulary is faith. At the centre of this story is a firm once known for its quiet presence in Washington’s political corridors. Moran Global Strategies, led by former United States congressman Jim Moran, is now registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act to represent the Biafra Republic Government in Exile. Nigerian courts recognise that so-called government as the external arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, a group declared a terrorist organisation in 2017 and reaffirmed by the Court of Appeal in 2025. The public filing sounds benign. It describes the contract as “advocacy on human rights and political recognition matters in Nigeria.” But the language conceals the truth. Behind the careful wording lies a movement responsible for attacks on civilians, police and clergy across Nigeria’s southeast. This is not diplomacy. It is deceit performed in a three-piece suit. The stage is Washington, the audience is global, and the script is written in the ink of self-interest. In October 2025, Authority Newspaper in Abuja reported that Simon Nkere, the self-styled prime minister of this phantom government, met Senator Ted Cruz and other lawmakers to promote the claim of a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria. Neither Nkere nor Cruz has denied the account. A parallel investigation by Paris-based Africa Intelligence confirmed that Moran’s firm had been hired to drive the same message through Washington. What began as lobbying now looks like laundering. Moran Global Strategies, which has represented defence contractors such as GE Aerospace, General Dynamics, and Robinson Helicopter, also lists clients that include the Eritrean Blue Revolution Front and South Sudan’s National Salvation Group, both accused of violent insurgency. A firm trusted with national security contracts now carries the brief of proscribed and armed groups. The moral contradiction could not be starker. It seems morality in Washington now bends like a weather vane – whichever way the wind of profit blows, principle politely steps aside. In May 2025 a court in Finland convicted Simon Ekpa, one of the loudest voices of the same network, of terrorism offences for orchestrating attacks in Nigeria from his base in Lahti. The conviction proved what security agencies had long warned. The supposed government in exile is not a political movement. It is an operational arm of an organisation that uses faith as camouflage and propaganda as its main export. Moran Global Strategies should now clarify whether it continues to represent this network and how such work aligns with United States law and corporate ethics. Senator Cruz’s office should also explain the meetings Nkere described and whether any due diligence was carried out on the source of those claims. Until they do, the record stands. The filings, the court judgments and the public admissions remain unchallenged. A pattern has emerged. Insurgents and governments, rebels and corporations, all rent the same credibility under one roof. We are told that the world runs on rules. But these rules change depending on who breaks them and where the victims live. If a United States senator or a European parliamentarian had met representatives of ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hamas or the PKK under similar circumstances, that contact would almost certainly qualify as material support for terrorism under US or EU statutes. When it involves Africa, the same behaviour is rebranded as advocacy. The double standard corrodes trust and teaches extremists how to turn sympathy into strategy. Because when lobbying becomes laundering, truth, faith and reputation burn in the same fire.

greatiyk4u:How can they fish out when they are the ones who orchestrated the terrorism? Did we have boko haram before they invaded iraq? Did we have ak47 armed herdsmen before they invaded Libya. The weapons the herdsmen are using, who gave them…..is it not the same US that armed Libyan rebels with weapons that ended up in the hands of herdsmen?
|
LegendHero:This started after Obi visited America just before UNGA. When have you known him to Ben quiet on matters like this?
