It is Obi’s best play to run as a president but he will still fail! ADC is not giving him the ticket. He will get more votes under PDP than under Labour. PDP will use him to resurrect their party. Under PDP, Obi will get more votes than 2023 but PDP governors especially Northern PDP governors who are eyeing presidency in 2031 will work against him. He will still fail There is no route to an Obi presidency whether ADC, LP or PDP. |
jmoore:Na you no understand English. There is no video where Atiku said so. There is a video where Segun Sowunmi said Atiku said so. Failure of English. Go and google it. Blocked! |
Godfullsam:You all move to Lagos and Abuja and leave the villagers and the uneducated without guidance and wonder why politicians have such a stronghold over them? Blame yourselves. Elections are determined in the villages by poor unexposed people. You who should be the leading light of your villages and ancestral homes have fled to the cities. You lose influence over your villages and the vacuum is taken up by charlatans. Then you go on arise Tv and Twitter and start speaking English conducting fake polls amongst yourselves. Forgetting you are o my 10% of the population. We are the problem. Our failure to keep in touch with our villages and ancestral communities is why we have no influence on how they vote. If we kept in touch with our villages, we would be able to influence. Them because they look up to us but because we have abandoned them, they look up to politicians. They are the ones in touch with the villages. All politics is local. For all the educated people in Lagos and Abuja speaking English, You do not elect more than 1 governor out of 36 and 4 senators out of 109. And for that 1 governor and 4 senators, you have no influence in the selection process because you are not indigenes of Lagos or Abuja. When the indigines select they call you to vote. Is it therefore any surprise that you get an education only to be ruled by people inferior to you? Something is seriously wrong with our educated Nigerian. |
Reckless statement by Fayose! |
Validated:Oga all this one you are saying, Obi had already left the party. He left before primaries. He left before Atiku got the ticket so points 2 and 3 are invalid. The infamous PDP list of VPs arose after Atiku won the primaries by which time Obi had left. Obi was not on the list because he had left. You are confusing yourself, the 3 man VP list had nothing to do with Obi it was about how Wike was dropped in favour of Okowa. Can’t remember who the 3rd person was but it wasn’t Obi……possibly Ihedioha! Just like everybody else I thought he wanted to run for presidency under PDP. Don’t forget many people pick nomination forms for presidential primaries but are really after other positions. I was also shocked myself when Sowunmi revealed that actually no he wanted to be Atiku’s VP just like in 2019 and sought confirmation from Atiku before the primaries. If I recall correctly (I searched briefly for the video but gave up). Atiku’s words to Obi (according to Sowunmi) was “I can’t guarantee you the Vp slot” and the next day Obi withdrew from the primaries and resigned. Segun Sowunmi said in the last 3 weeks that Atiku told Obi, he wasn’t picking him for VP. Obi was never really contesting for presidency under PDP. He wanted to be Atiku’s Vice. Make of it what you may I am simply saying what Sowunmi who was a key player in the events said on TV. You are free to believe or not or you are free to think it was because of Wike. I am inclined to believe Sowunmi because no he was in the know and no one has come out to contradict him. I have spent enough time on the matter believe what you want. Like I said anyone who is interested can search for Sowunmi interviews on Google over the last 3 weeks, max 1 month. I gave up because his interviews are many and all long and not worth the effort for me just to find the exact minute. Obi supporters may be more motivated to comb through the videos to verify, though most of them prefer the believe what they want and probably won’t. I know what I heard. Either way I am not wasting anymore energy on the matter. Particular lot also because even if I do Obi supporters will still argue….so why bother? It’s not like I am dealing with rational people! He left because he knew Atiku would get the ticket and would not pick him as VP. I can understand why Atiku decided not to pick him because In 2019, PDP actually got less votes in the SE than in 2015 with OBi on the ticket so since he didn’t have any followership outside the SE, it was a logical conclusion at the time that he didn’t add any value to his ticket….no votes, no money. An understandable stance at the time, no one could realistically have predicted that Obi would capture the ENDSARS vote as well. Good night! By the way, Obi’s best chance is probably to return to PDP.

jmoore:If Segun Showunmi said on TV that Obi was lobbying to be Atiku’s VP in 2022 and Atiku told Obi that he would not be his VP and as a result Obi left PDP, then I believe. This was before the primaries even started. Segun showunmi knows everything about what transpired. For him to say so on Tv, I believe him. Google Segun Showunmi’s interviews of recent on YouTube , (within the last 3 weeks) in one of them you will find where he said so. |
Kukutente23:Blocked! Really losing my patience with numb skulls |
givedemwotowoto:Stop deceiving yourselves. Atiku is not quitting and if he does quit, the Northern vote will fall behind Tinubu because he is GUARANTEED only 4 more years. OBi is a habitual liar and they know he can’t be trusted. Truth is they despise him and are only dealing with him because he has 6m votes. Watch the interview I n 2023, where Atiku disparaged Obi as having no structure. They are not dealing with him because they want to stop him, they are only forced to reckon with him because he shocked them in 2023 and they need his votes to get to power. If they are not the ones getting the power they have no need for him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqzDrGOz7Uc?si=I8-3AsvE25C1tJOn |
Kukutente23:Go back to school and learn English. Obi did not tell him before he left PDP does not negate Atiku telling him he wasn’t going to be his VP. That’s why you fail exams and interviews….poor English comprehension. Atiku told him he wasn’t going to be his VP and Obi then leaving without telling Atiku are perfectly valid events that can coexist. I saw the interview myself where a top PDP member said that was the reason Obi left PDP. The interview was in the last month or so. The PDP member was narrating the genesis of the problem in PDP. |
Awon onigbese! |
Stop deluding yourselves. There is no path to an Obi presidency…ever! If things happen as you say, the same actors in the North that turned against GEJ and BAT will turn against him in 2031. He will never become president. The only reason they are courting him is because he has 6m votes. Almost all the members of the coalition have treated him with contempt and disdain in the past. Obi wanted to be VOnin 2023, not president. The reason Obi left PDP is because Atiku flatly told him he was not going to be his VP. This was before the primaries! |
I will, remind you all the words of senator Adeseye Ogunlewe: “The master is on the game” I will not be surprised if that guy that was a spokesman for Atiku (his name escapes me now) was working for Tinubu all along. The guy from Borno that is now a Tinubu spokesman. |
I just got off a section of the Lagos Calabar highway. No one can visit or drive on the road and not be impressed. To think that one day that road will go all the way to Calabar is impressive. Truly no government project of this kind has ever been undertaken in the history of Nigeria. Certainly not in infrastructure. To think there is an even longer one going to Sokoto…. |
chiiraq802:I said it ages ago. Both Atimu and Obi consistently display poor judgement! |
Tonnyray:I have long been saying it that there are some Nazi moderators here that have a political agenda. Thank God you quoted my post. One of the Nazis deleted it. There is an opposition agenda by some Nairaland moderators abusing their positions. It’s not the 1st time I’ve had at least 50 posts deleted that contained no offensive language! |
PlasmaTV:No! Why is English comprehension such a problem for a country that professes English as its official language? They said if you generate your own electricity and transmit through your own grid you can sell at any price. If you are sourcing from the national grid, you can also sell at any price but you must pay the difference. You are free to discount Federal electricity just make sure you pay the difference. If you generate, transmute and distribute your own electricity…..nothing concerns NERC, you can sell at any price you want. Simple English! |
Exactly, I was going to say myself that she should be suspended again for behavior unbecoming of a senator of the Federal republic. |
Maxymilliano:That’s not even the issue, if he comes without informing the governor and anything happens to him he should not blame the governor. Dattsall! |

CodeTemplarr:You keep seeking my attention for a response. I responded earlier but the Nazis banned me. If I get banned again too bad. But I will respond again. There are different types of stealing. Shortchanging people is stealing, taking bribes is stealing. Shortchanging your customers is stealing. Selling fake or expired products is stealing. Getting paid for something you didn’t do is stealing. Paying for something and getting something else is stealing. The average Nigerian in the course of his everyday life engages in some form of theft or another. That’s why Nigerians are such a stressful people to deal with. He who can’t be faithful in the little cannot be faithful in the large. In my experience, in the course of interaction with a Nigerian, 90% will steal from you. Therefore statistically when you encounter a Nigerian, you are encountering a thief. Again theft is not just about money. As a Nigerian the default mode is to assume you are about to be stolen from. I have lived in a few countries and encountered many nationalities. Nigerians are the only people with whom you can’t let your guard down with anybody. There are thieves elsewhere, but that experience where the default mode is trust no one only happens with NIgerians The average Nigerian simply hasn’t access to steal like the politicians or govt officials they complain about. A Nigerian is assumed a thief unreliable and of dubious character until he proves otherwise. Deep down you know this to be true. A Nigerian does not even know he is a thief because our society has institutionalized (for want of a better word) the behaviors of a thief and it is second nature, we don’t even know it is wrong! The societies you japa to function because there is trust. There is a reason why online services in Nigeria are pay on delivery. We call it being sharp, being streetwise, etc but it’s theft! |
Esude007:i keep telling people Oil stopped being our main source of revenue a long time ago! we make more money from corporate taxes, VAT, customs duties etc. the shift started under Buhari partly due to low production and increased tax push. in fact It was made known yesterday with the GDP rebasing that the real estate sector is now bigger than the oil sector. |
CodeTemplarr:we are a nation of thieves, including you. You are likely already stealing from someone as we speak. you just havent had the opportunity of govt stealing! so rest! not every comment requires politics. |
$4B in 5 months......we really are a poor country xxcdce |
okpouman:natasha is the one bringing the people of Kogi into disrepute but somehow this is not the 1st time. there was Dino before her. Something in the water over there. Court found her guilty of disobeying senate rules and deemed they were right to suspend her. whether your interpretation of the courts reccomendation is binding or not is neither here nor there if she were not just a content maker. If she were truly interested in her constituents, having been found guilty, she would apologize to the senate but she isnt interested in her constituents, they are just a platform for her narcissistic adventures. as for the judges Recommendation being binding. I keep saying it and i will repeat Nigerians have a fundamental problem with the English language. The judge made a recommendation , what is a recommendation: definition: "a suggestion or proposal as to the best course of action, especially one put forward by an authoritative body." what is a suggestion? definition: an idea or plan put forward for consideration. what is consideration, definition: careful thought , typically over a period of time if a judge is recommending careful thought on the matter she is not giving an order! she is saying go and think about it. a recommendation is not an order otherwise there would be no need to differentiate it from an order. the reason why it is a recommendation is because the court either has no power to give an order on the matter or it won’t ...it is advisory! Again why separate a recommendation from an order if they are the same thing? Common sense seems to elude many in addition to the fundamental problem of lack of English comprehension, there is a deficiency in logical reasoning. We really are in trouble in this country because this is not education. It is better we stop fooling ourselves that we are educating our people!

Obviouslyblunt:Again this your gaslighting has expired. The rest of Nigeria has wised up to you people. You are the ones who removed our collective freedoms. Instead of you to apologize you are gaslighting. Nonsense people! Oga please rest! I don’t have time for your sort. Quote me again and I will block you! |
ariesbull:Dont you not have rep members and senators or governors? instead Kalu and Uzodinma are seeking to make ibos indigenes of Markurdi, Ekiti and Calabar. what kind of people are you? why are they seeking new states? why do they want an ibo man to be an indigine of another tribe? why are they trying to rewrite history and culture, why are you trying to assume other people's culture, are you not proud to be ibos? should they not be advocating the reintroduction of secession clause and referendum? nonsense people! |
Obviouslyblunt:na me commot the freedom? you think i want to be in the same country with you? Go and meet Zik and ironsi! like i have said all this talk of freedom is gaslighting. You want freedom, your leaders are not pushing for referendum, instead they are pushing for Emeka to be an indigene of Abeokuta or Markurdi or Calabar and you say you want to leave Nigeria....who is fooling who? all this shout of referendum and secession is because you know your leaders have ensured it cannot happen. You need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs you. There is nothig you bring to Nigeria that will be missed. tell me what? |
Obviouslyblunt:who removed referendum You are the ones who removed referendum. Mid west state was created via a referendum, it was Ironsi that removed referendum when he assumed that having gained control of Nigeria at the center the ibos were now in control. Whatever the ibos claim they are facing in Nigeria is of their own doing. personally i think ibos are just gaslighting. You are the ones who removed referendum, abolished regionalism introduced unified central government and civil service (so you could send your ibo brothers into the civil service all over the country), you are the ones who abolished regional government, they are the ones who brought in the military, they are the ones who caused a civil war, and so on and so on and now they are ones trying to claim indigineship in other people's land. You are expansionists and you have always been. Ibo land is not big or productive enough for the ibos, Zik, ironsi and all your leaders knew this, thats why Hope And Kalu are now trying to force this indigene law. All this one they are shouting referendum is because they know it cant happen under our constitution. Like I said they are the ones who made sure there was no referendum in our constitution. Everybody else wanted it. it was there before! it was Zik that insisted on a no secession clause, to the point he insisted any acts or calls for secession be classified as treason. I have said it many times....call their bluff and give them the referendum. this is the decree by your own brother that trapped us all in this hell hole read it https://archive.gazettes.africa/archive/ng/1966/ng-government-gazette-supplement-dated-1966-05-24-no-51-part-a.pdf please dont come here crying referendum.
