No state will be created anywhere! Mark it! |
LagosOrigin:Actually records show Atiku has inherited 400m votes not 12m. Fullish people think they can talk their way into election victory instead of doing the work required for election success. When they lose they will start shouting “not our president”. As if the people of the North are like the politically immature SE that can’t can’t think for themselves. Never in the history of the North have they voted in one direction. What attracted the Northern masses to Buhari was his honesty. Mai Gaskiya means the honest one….the exact opposite of Atiku. In all the time Atiku contested he was never able to penetrate their votes. His support base largely came from PDP votes from the south and the middle belt. Please go and verify. People like me check the data before we post. Yes no doubt some votes will transfer to Atiku but to suggest that Buhari’s votes will automatically transfer to Atiku is the height of delusion or political ignorance. The North is not the SE that like sheep always vote 90% for whichever candidate in every election. Nonsense! |
naptu2:By that token the 3rd mainland bridge was not officially named after Babangida because it is still referred to in official documents as 3rd mainland bridge. This is how I see it. Either 1: It was named but not gazetted in which case it is not technically official 2: it was named and gazetted but in our anyhowness it is still referred to as 2nd Niger bridge. By the same token, it would be interesting to know if for instance the Bola Ahmed Tinubu international conference center renamed by Wike was gazetted. If not the only difference between that and the 2nd Niger Bridge is a sign with the name was out on the building. Either way there is a lot of sloppiness in the way we do things in Nigeria. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is an official gazette renaming it to Mohammad Buhari bridge. Why do I say so? Because Fashola is a lawyer and a SAN raised in the era when people understood the processes of officialdom. Fashola having named it himself, having consulted with the governors of Anambra and Delta and while Buhari expressed surprise, there is no suggestion he rejected the naming. Therefore I expect a man like Fashola to have followed through on the paperwork. That people in the ministry refer to it today as 2nd Niger bridge is neither here nor there. Our level of anyhowness is legendary in this country. Gone are the days where only the best were in the civil service. Bottom line: I don’t know what the official name is as at today but I would not be surprised if there is an official gazette renaming the bridge. Like I said there is probably no official gazetted renaming the international conference center just as there might actually be an official gazetted renaming the 2nd Niger bridge. This is Nigeria we do things anyhow. You can’t even trust the newspaper reports these day because just like the civil servants and universities they are manned by poorly educated quacks who couldn’t get a good paying job in the banks or oil companies. |
naptu2:Your authority for this conclusion is based on what? I am not saying you are wrong but on what authority? The minister named it MMB bridge after consultations with govs of Anambra and delta state. Buhari said he wasn’t consulted but did not reject it. On what basis do you say it was not official? |
naptu2:Buhari said at the commissioning that he was not consulted but that in itself does not mean it wasn’t officially named after him. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2023/05/buhari-commissions-2nd-niger-bridge-named-after-him/ |
@naptu2 2nd Niger bridge is already named after him. Just like 3rd mainland bridge is officially named IBB bridge but people still call it 3rd mainland bridge. |
Cromagnon:Intellectuals have deserted the villages and moved to the cities. It is from the villages that senators, house of reps etc emerge. Since you are not present nor have any influence in yhe politics of your villages, the non intellectuals left in your villages become your representatives……the irony off the Nigerian intellectual! If you stay in the cities and towns where you are ethnic strangers and desert your people in the villages then don’t blame anyone if you have no representation and there is no one fighting for you. BTW I have blocked you so don’t bother responding. |
only a compound full will think Tinubu will bring back subsidy. you overate the importance of the collision. |
SpecialAdviser:You were the same people abusing his father when he was sick. |
destinychildolu:The disease of the African is to think because a man is a subject matter specialist, in this case law, speaks impeccable English and is a good orator that it translates into a good political leader and manager of economic resources. Without ever displaying any track record in political or economic leadership. The colonial mentality and inferiority complex sown in us by the white man is deep! The best political leaders for a country like ours especially at this time are sincere well intentioned “gangsters” not English speakers or intellectuals. People who can hold the fort and fight the roforofo battles while the intellectuals do the work. Intellectuals like Osinbajo are given assignments under the cover of political leaders. Ask them to lead a political terrain like Nigeria and you will see the definition of incompetence! |
Now that Atiku is gone, If Obi were smart, he would move back into PDP. |
That you didn’t see it, or that you not educated or exposed enough to know where to look does not mean they didn’t. That CNN is your yardstick for information shows your problem Ab-initio. There is hardly a foreign government that did not commiserate with Nigeria on the death of Buhari, either the head of state the foreign minister or the embassy. Below is the foreign minister of the Uk, David Lammy, the German embassy, the Uk high commission, the president of Benin republic, I have seen messages from the UAE, Saudi, Un sec gen etc.

he should be sacked! |
Exousiang01:its their way, i dont know how a people are raised with such hatred and venom inside them.......and they want to preside over this country and expect people to vote for them? |
Konquest:That was a fake news report. His body will arrive Tuesday for burial on same day! Yes it is becoming loud to even the deaf that restructuring ASAP is a must! In fact it should be the National priority! |
Konquest:The truth is creation of states was faulty right from 1967. It was done to weaken Ojukwu and the remove the oil controlling area from his control. That move also resulted into secession and the civil war that resulted. The point is it wasn’t done for altruistic purposes and that paved the way for the subsequent distortions In our geo political arrangement. IMHO, States are not the answer. They are inefficient and unproductive abinitio. The more we created the harder to unbundle. Let me state here that putting Nigeria on the right path is going to be very difficult. We are a very impatient people but the truth is we have created such a structural, psychological & economic mess as a result of 1966-67 that the benefits of the solution may not manifest for decades or even in our lifetime. The question is are we as a people ready to make the right choices knowing we may not reap the benefits but the future generations will. Are the people willing to endure the transition without seeing immediate or short term benefits. I don’t think we have that kind of patriotism or long game mindset in us as a people! |
socialmediaman:The problem is you have not learnt from your past errors of judgement. You are the kind of people who when in 2015, we said Buhari was a disaster when he was head of state scoffed at us only to now say you regret voting for Buhari. You didn’t listen then and you won’t listen now. You are the same person who wanted GEJ out but is now saying he was a good leader. That the leader who came after him was worse than the previous does not remove the fact that GEJ was a terrible president! That you keep flip flopping just shows you don’t think right! And now once again you have a man whose term in office as a governor for 8 years is on show for everybody to dissect and you are saying he will be a good president. People like you are the ones that will come after he wins and destroys the country and start to say we should have kept Tinubu let him complete his reforms. You don’t. think right! If you are still making the same poor judgement calls you made in 2015, it means you have learnt nothing! This is not a case of people make mistakes…..Your thought process is faulty…. full stop! If you have a faulty thought process you will always come to poor conclusions. |
socialmediaman:You clearly lack good judgement. I was alive when Buhari was head of state, we All celebrated when he was overthrown. I cautioned at the time that the Buhari you are electing is not Buhari of 1983. He was a disaster economically then and the anti corruption credentials he garnered were under a military regime. I told everyone who would listen that Buhari cannot fight corruption as a civilian when the powers that brought him to office are the definition of corruption. And so it proved. That said I admire him because he did some good things particularly infrastructure. Most importantly he was (and I recognized this at the time) the last of a breed of selfless leaders and public officers that I witnessed when I was young. Many of the young ones cannot relate. He was a man with good intentions but without the capacity. Buhari’s death is the end of an era! I loved him for that even though I never voted for him( I did not vote for GEJ or Atiku either) and this is the first time a Nigerian leader has passed that I felt it like a relative has passed! Back on topic people like you who support one politician today only to later say I made a mistake only show you lack insight and good judgement. In all likelihood your current choice is probably a disaster waiting to happen! If I were you I would reflect on your selection criteria because clearly you don’t have a good record! |
Sai Baba! Rest in Peace! I can drive from Lagos to Ibadan in 1 hr again because of you! |
God1000:You people are so ignor ant in your knowledge of how things function it is scary that you are given the right to vote! A senator is in the senate to represent first and foremost his constituency. He does this by making sure projects for his constituency are included in the budget! Uninformed people call this padding, it is not! It is a senator or rep member doing the job for which he was elected….to advocate for and bring projects to his constituency! The other sad issue is that people think the money goes to the senator. It does not! The money goes to the relevant govt agency! A road that a senator lobbies to be included in the budget goes to the federal ministry of works. They are the one with whom the money resides and they award the contract! These constituency project are informally called “senator lagbajas’s project” simply because he lobbied for it. Again the money does not go to him and he does not award the contract! Like I said it is scary the kind of comments that come from people who are allowed to vote! |
Ezmans:I don’t know who the candidates are, the candidates did not bother to campaign, are people supposed to go and vote when they don’t know who they are voting for and the candidate did not think them worthy of campaigning to? |
Amaechi don join party. Na person wey join party dey sign accord! Obi never join, Atiku never join. |
EponObi:He is supposedly demanding a salary of ££250k after tax. For the UK, income tax and national insurance will mean a Gross salary of close to £500kpw. No club in the Uk can afford that. The MU GU club from Manchester that need a striker and would have paid it are stuck with too many overpaid mediocre players they can’t sell! Bear in mind no one in the EPL earns 500kpw. |
NathOlamiposi:Somebody they have almost tripled his federal allocation and cannot pay minimum n wage. Why would anyone listen to you? Are people like Soludo and Otti not opposition governors? |
