TopBanter: 100% correct. Using myself as an example, I may not even think about non-Nigerian at all throughout a year talk less of having time to go to their forums and engage them mockingly. For what?
Yet if others hate and envy me, because of my talent and success, then I will taunt then to death because they are evil and wicked.
What I love about most Nigerians is that we don't have time to be badmouthing others out of jealousy or envy.
When we land in the diaspora we quickly learn how things work there, because we are success-driven, to be thriving in healthcare, IT, Architecture, entrepreneurship etc to the extreme jealousy and envy of other Africans.
I am talking from direct experience where, as an example, Nigerians buy houses legitimately, residential and investment, in the UK only for other Africans to be gossiping we are fraudsters and criminals merely because they don't aspire to the level of success Nigerians work hard to attain.
Why should I then live my life trying to appease such hateful folks who are always determined to give a dog (Nigerians) a bad name to hang it?
Yes Nigerians can be loud and showy but we are also kind, accommodating, generous and helpful. Yet they never talk about our good side.
So many Ghanaians, Cameroonian, South Africans, Kenyans etal are in Nigeria and they do not feel like foreigners because we don't care to focus on the background of others or work with preconcieved notions..
Yet Nigerians will definitely be made to feel like foreigners in most countries in Africa because of the insecurities of others.
If your good but imperfect, which is the case with many human beings, then don't let others gaslight you for your few imperfection while they ignore your many good attributes. Well said brother… |

Why are our African brothers and sisters JUBILATING over Nigeria's exit at the AFCON? All over social media, Africans are in jubilation! In celebration and merriment! Some said they are even popping champagne to celebrate our loss. Most especially Ghanaians and South Africans. We need to use this as inspiration to come together and make our country far better than any of their useless banana republic nations. God bless our federal republic. |

It's the system that we played, not Osimhen. Osimhen wasn't fed a single chance in this game. Can you say that about the games he plays at Napoli? We also missed Victor Boniface who was to partner Osimhen, and Ndidi in midfield. |

Quest7777: A responsible Government does what is right & what is in the interest of the citizens, even if the citizens don't know any better. Well, the FEDERAL GOVT built its roads the right way when it built Abuja, the federal capital. So this is on the state governments, not the FG. Folks should harass their state governors over this issue. We should also consider federal legislation for a common standard for road construction nationwide whereby it will required by LAW that any road built in a residential or business area must be built with covered drainage and sidewalks, and also mandating all states to dedicate a set minimum percentage of their annual infrastructure budget to fixing those roads currently with open drains and no sidewalks. If they do that, within 10 years they'll get to the level of Brazil or Mexico in terms of physical infrastructure. |

Yes, his tactics got us to the final.
But we were always vulnerable playing a low-scoring defensive system.
How can a country with top strikers by playing such a defensive game at all?
Leaving Ivory Coast to control the game and hold the ball, hoping to capitalise on their errors.
If they don't make the errors, then what?
We're screwed!
Why are we afraid to play ball, even in the cup final?
This man must go, abeg
Put Amunike or Finidi there.
I heard the mumu NFF have already signed a new contract with him.
They should terminate that thing and send him packing.
Otherwise Eagles will keep playing this their fear-fear game.
We have too much talent as a country to be playing that kind of football.
This is not Eagles, please. |
Politics › Re: Why Open Drainages In Nigeria Roads? by Catapault: 2:42am On Feb 12, 2024 |
Klinee: I do ask question about the road construction companies in Nigeria building open drainages in Nigeria city centers that is densely populated. There is virtually no advantage in open drainages rather than being a deeth trap for residents. What are their reasons, why do they chose to build open instead of closed one? I need an answer to this. The disadvantage of open drainages is unquantifiable; it has causes accident leading to lost of many souls and people sustaining lifetime deformity. it is a breeding zone for mosquitoes which causes malaria fever. It creates an avenue for people to dump refuse and dirty, which defaces the ecstatic view of Nigeria cities and health implications involved. Open drainages can clog and block easily because sand can fill in easily because of its widely opened surface area. It enhanced the growth and germination of grasses because it's directly opened to sunlight which enable photosynthesis, also leading to total blockage of the drainage. The reason is the population don't know any better, and/or don't care about it, and therefore there's no pressure on the govt to build the roads right, ie with covered drains and pedestrian sidewalks as is the norm around the world. I mean, you come on this forum and you actually see people PRAISING their state govt for building a road with ''drainages'', ie open gutters. They don't know any better. They think that's the way to build. They don't even know they are entitled to pedestrian sidewalks on EVERY road including inner city roads. |

Their stadium is clean and orderly unlike Nigeria where mopols will be controlling d crowd with AK-47 They are only 29 million people which is equivalent to Kano and Lagos state combined population. Why shouldn't they be organized? Abegi. If they had 240 million people like us, they wouldn't look so cute, trust me. Dsimmer: Dunno. Although I believe the combination of Onyedika and Aribo midfield could have controlled that game. Aribo had a good outing in the last afcon for example. Both Onyedika and Aribo are good at providing passing options for the defence, aside from Aribo being energetic and ball carrier when needed.
For example, Aribo in just 5 minutes made 10 passes which is half of Iwobi's 23 passes in 78 minutes while Onyeka made 12 passes in 86 minutes. Imagine if he was on the pitch for longer, he would have at least taken control of the possession away from ivory coast. As I said, He had a good outing as a CM in the last afcon. With him and Onyedika who's also adept at providing option for the defence, Nigeria could have controlled the match. I wish Eberechi Eze had chosen Nigeria instead of England. That midfield was crying out for Eberechi Eze. He was supposed to be our new Jay Jay. He even trained with the team a couple of times in the past. Oh well... |

Dsimmer: It wasn't really a defensive game, especially with a 3- man attack but the point was there was nothing happening in Nigeria midfield to feed the attack. It was mostly the wingbacks which often support the attackers since the beginning of the tournament but this time around, the wingbacks had a lot on their hands, considering Ivory midfielderrs dominated lots of possession and controlled the play while constantly freeing their attackers who kept worrying Nigeria's defence whereas Nigeria midfield couldn't do anything to offer both the attack and the defence.
It was a good outing overall. I didn't even expect anything from the eagles after they lost to Guinea just before the beginning of the tournament. Why can't we find another JAY JAY OKOCHA for goodness sake in this country? Even a HALF Jay Jay talent? SURELY they must exist. We have to ACTIVELY SOURCE, SUPPORT, and NURTURE ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS from the Nigerian league, and help get them to the next level where they can man the Eagles midfield. We are too big to be depending on Alex Iwobi and Joe Aribo! |

The Peseiro formula got us to the final of the AFCON.
But there was always this nagging doubt in my mind about how far his Park The Bus tactic will get them.
I always felt they were vulnerable playing so deep, and inviting the opposition to come at them.
Such a system can get you far and win you SOME games.
But can it win you the African title? I doubt it.
This cannot be the system that DEFINES your game.
You must be able to ditch it when necessary and be brave enough to go for all-out attack, especially after an equaliser by the other side.
This is AFCON. You MUST know how to take the game to the opponent.
The problem is it is not so easy to transition to that way of playing when you've spent so many hours of the tournament playing defensively.
I think Peseiro needs to go.
He did up to his Mourinho-esque limit.
I think we should give the job to Emmanuel Amunike. |

I think Chukwueze is aggrieved about something, because I know rhe guy haa quality. Chukwueze cannot dribble African defenders the way he does those white boys in Europe. That's his main problem. All those his dribbling moves he does in Europe do not trouble African players, who played on the street as kids like him. You can't just sere them anyhow. Hard nuts. |
