I am an Ashanti and I can say on authority that this is false. The only ethnic group which mentioned Ile-Ife in its history are Gãs, the current owners of Accra, Ghana's capital. Ewes, also, mentioned, once, being in Ketu in Yorubaland, until hostility by Yoruba invaders made them move.
First of all am quite shocked to hear this , Although I have never been to Ghana but am not sure anyone speaks olukumi or Yoruba over there, then how could you say "the Yoruba invaders " how can Yoruba be an invader in their land, it's most likely those Gas came to invade yoruba land and were sent packing since they were not yorubas or am I wrong huh

The need to forge alliance with Igbo makes you reduce Lagos Yoruba to bastard Yoruba. Has that made abuo in Igbo to mean abuo in Yoruba? Eni tara 'le e l'opo.
Bro oga fun yin o, ewo nitemi pelu omo ibo, am just trying to tell him we have that word in Yoruba language too,of course I know that the pronunciation will be different. As for Lagos yoruba, am not criticizing anyone am just trying to explain better to him ni wink

Otu or Ofu in Igbo means 1. Two is Abuo

Bottomline is that we are all somehow related but bigotary won't let many see it
Abuo in Yoruba means the younger one. The people of Lagos that speaks the bastadised Yoruba call it aburo wink

You are funny, so you think you can distort history with your fairy tale. I am a student of history and from what I was taught. Oduduwa came from the ancient Benin kingdom. Not the east. He was the royal heir to the throne. After the death of His father the King of Benin and the plot against his life by his half brothers, brothers and step mother, he left benin with his entourage and settled in a town within present day Edo state. That town shared a border with Present day Ondo state and yoruba was widely spoken there as their traditional language even as at today.

Oduduwa was gifted in magic and black arts, part of which gave him popularity everywhere he went. From there he gathered many loyalist whom he enjoined as his entourage wandering from one town to the other until he settled in Ife and became useful to them with his black arts and magic. He was made King over ife town, for helping them overcome in their time of urgent need.

After the death of the subsequent King in Benin, by an unknown cause, the chiefs requested that Oduduwa should return back as King, which he refused. So he sent his son instead, Hence the title Oba being used till this very day.

The word Oduduwa in Benin has several meanings. E.g The road to wealth and Great god....

Do you think Oduduwa is a yoruba word? or Eastern?
But who were those Oduduwa met in Ile Ife?

It wasn't quite a master class or a clinic. But it wasn't that far off. Before the fight I said that deciding the winner was close but that the fight wouldn't be. I stick to that view. Pacquiao had a few rounds of success but that was it… a few rounds. Mayweather outboxed him. He came close to giving him a boxing lesson. Pacquiao had no way to consistently land offence, no way to pin Mayweather down and no way to stop Mayweather picking him off. There was no controversy, no real drama, nothing that would demand an immediate rematch. Mayweather simply did what he has done to so many other boxers who came in with dreams of winning. He crushed their dreams and outboxed them. This was the Hagler/Leonard of this generation… but Mayweather never let it be as close as that classic. This was a classic performance by Mayweather. It was not a classic bout to remember through the ages. That, perhaps more than anything, sums up Mayweather's brilliance. He's so good that he takes the drama out of bouts. He's so good that even landing a single punch on him gets a roar from the crowd as it's such a rare event.

Here we go down the victim sentiment again. Just shut it already.
Were Ibos the only one that was malterated by the Hausa? If you must know, the yorubas were the first to ask for seccession because of how they were ill-treated by the North and East who formed allies together. The likes of Awolowo got jailed while Zik who was 10 times corrupt was painting the town red. There's also Gani Fawehinmi, the finest Nigeria politician ever who was disregarded and many more.
Do you know who prevented Yoruba from leaving? Zik. The yorubas could have acted foolishly back then like the biafrans did but they chose to consider the lives of their people unlike Ojukwu did.
As a matter of fact, even if the yorubas had gone to war then, I'm sure they won't invade neutral people's region as opposed to what biafrans did.
If we must go back to the history lane, Yorubas ought to be the one seeking apology from Nigerians, including the ibos but we're above such. Yorubas aren't children who throws tantrum around, we're much more matured.
Bro you get time oo... don't waste your effort and MB on them. A crY baby will always be a cry baby grin
