If one is using different accounts owned by one person it's advisable they have same name, unless he is using his account and that of his spouse. I have seen someone trying to use his personal account and corporate account as POF since they are both his account and that is the reason for "both should have same name"

My point is both accounts has to clock 28days before it can be used inrespective of when they where funded.

Maybe you should edit because it's misleading. He didn't ask about name. He asked about using 2 accounts that will complete 28days on different dates because they will not start running on the same date.

I believe that the 2nd part of your response is incorrect. Both accounts must not start counting on the same day. If you have account A that is already complete 28 days now but has only a part of your funds, you can also use account B whenever it reaches 28days, say next week. And then present both -which are each not below 28days and jointly have the required sum, as POF.

For context, you cant get PTA for your travel if you buy a one way ticket.You and your partner can access 8000 pounds at CBN rate, that being said you also have justification to buy one way if you choose to, you program allows you work for two years after study and technically you cant get any return ticket for that duration(3 years). ponder on your options

Where there is a conflict, the more specific one will prevail. When i was a student in the UK it was seriously enforced and I was even advised during my interview to check the relevant UKBA rules prior to making arrival arrangements e.g booking a flight because entry could not be before a month.

Read messages well. I did say that maybe the conflict in the rules (if any) is being resolved in favour of the vignette or UKBA is no longer enforcing the 1month thing strictly. However, I personally wouldn't without confirming. Abi you wan force me ni Also, I said a student who did it recently can share their experience.

You are right but the validation is also on the vignette, the entry permission starts from the start date on that vignette .

Are you sure? As in have you done this recently? I know of UKVI stamping visa for more than a month prior to start date but the decision at the border being that the one month rule supercedes the stamp.

The question is in the case of conflict which one prevails...the vignette or a written Rule? I'd say the written rule which is specific. It is best for people to be properly advised. I'm talking like 10yrs ago so people who recently went earlier than one month should advise or people with that query should send paid emails. I personally wouldn't do it without prior confirmation or clearance from UKBA or UKVI

It was stated on their site that there will be an upgrade/ maintenance from 20.00hrs Tuesday (yesterday) until today or tomorrow (can't recall now) and that applicants will be unable to apply during that period. So i rushed to do mine on Tuesday morning.

Hmmm..except the rule has changed or they've become lenient sha...UKBA (UK Border Agency) used to be really strict about this. I advised someone against arriving before a month to start date earlier on this thread. Remember UKVI and UKBA are [b]now** [/b]the same...For example people with valid visit visas have been turned back for not giving adequate responses at the border. Don't risk deportation.
P.S.I have schooled in the UK before.

Someone who did this recently can advise.

*Our Testimony*

I got my CAS in May, for July Resumption But we couldn’t apply for visa because dependent did not have passport and TB and we couldn’t apply separately because of POF but God showed up for us at the right time !

1) Tried booking for appointment since May but IOM had issues, So we sent series of emails until God showed up and we got scheduled for June 8! Emphasizing that we must present valid ID which we didn’t have but We thanked God for scheduling us at last!

2)Applied for passport since December 2020, God showed up, and passport came out June 7 Just at the right time before TB test!
(It took my dearest UAR 7 months to issue us passport! )

3)wanted to buy dollars so we can pay for visa fee and IHS , that’s how aboki duped us of some naira happened like film trick ( long story short , God showed up! It was sorted!

4) I fell terribly sick got admitted in the hospital, few days before biometrics but God showed up and I was discharged and attended my appointment the next day .

5) planned on doing walk in for dependent, got there the TLS site had issues, so I had to do my appointment first and God showed up ! After I was done the site came back on and dependent did biometrics

6)Just when we thought that the struggle was over ! When I had fully recovered and awaiting collection mail, I went over the documents We submitted and realized that We printed wrong dates for Statements(agents advice didn’t follow the rule) , I read online and saw it wud be an automatic refusal! I was so devastated, troubled and anxious! I turned to a prayer warrior, I sang and praised God and reminded Him of his faithfulness and His wonders in His word! And God showed up for us o, I don’t know how he did it but we got our visas

God is indeed God! There’s nothing too difficult for him to do!

I dunno that it is mandatory but I'll say do it. Change of name is usually newspaper and affidavit because the affidavit has your passport photo as deponent with Commissioner of Oaths stamp on the passport...a newspaper publication doesn't carry that. When it's a change because of marriage, the marriage certificate is the 3rd document.
Just do it..Takes just a few minutes
