I can remember all the tests I had to carry out on patients, especially the very gross ones, and I don't think I'd like to be doing that for the rest of my life.

Sputum smear and staining for tuberculosis (AFB).

Urine and Stool analysis.

Sample collections...especially the ones that I was forced to do in the name of professionalism. My hospital was functioning on one third of it's staff on one fateful saturday, I was called in to work, we were only two guys in the whole lab, which was my HOD and myself. A lady came in and was recommended for HVS Test, I was shocked when my HOD handed me a swab stick to go and collect the sample, I was about asking him if I was the right person to collect the sample when he yelled at me about saving lives, I had to take the lady to the sample collection room to collect the sample...seriously sweating all the way thru the process.
