Why can't this be done in the Niger Delta too. Why are the illegal refneries burnt/destroyed, even in a situation the nation can not even refine petroleum?

The North has been mining natural resourses illegally for decades. When same is done in the Niger Delta, it becomes a National Crime and must be dealt with.

Imagine the jobs this can create and the multiplier effects this can bring if such support stated by the Minister to be given illegal miners in the North is also given the illegal refinaries in the South South.
If this helps cut down on importation of petroleum products by up to 50%, Imagine the exchange rate problem this would have helped solve.
Talkng about having lastng Peace in the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large, will this approach not have a significant effect in achieving that and also make Niger Deltans feel that sense of belonging?

Getting millions of idle youths engaged is no rocket science. I asked some where in one of my posts why Ogun State is not cashing in fortune from Lagosians who spends billions of Naira daily on food despite the fact they are next door neighbours and 5 times the size of Lagos State but just serving as an entry point for trailers of foodstuff from the North?

That is why am so against the purported N5,000 monthly for the unemployed youth as it adds no real value to their lives. Rather than give 1,000 youths N5,000 each which sums up N5m. It should be used to get them resource persons to train them on vertical sack farming, vermiculture, greenhouse construction and post harvest storage where there is no electricity, all these will take only 2 weeks to learn. These idle youths will transform to employers of labour, government will collect taxes from the enterprises they would set up and the ripple effect continues!
