I attended the Lagos International Trade fair in 2011 and saw Maxxis tyres (Made in Thailand). For the fact that it was the Direct importer's booth, I decided to give it a trial. I bought the first set (205/R15) for my Camry, enjoyed it thoroughly with no single issue till I replaced the four with another set early this year. This past September too, I bought another 4 sets 205/R16 for my Highlander, and it rolls like a dice. Another critical thing to note, it is pocket friendly! |
CityNG:Lol @ herding bulls. That exoskeleton looks like the real deal! But I think the name comes from the original intent of the components design, which was meant to prevent damage on cars running into animals(bulls, kangaroos, etc.) crossing the rural roads while the vehicle is on high speed. But then, if you drive regularly on Lagos roads, you will agree with me that some drivers ain't different from jumping herds. ![]() |
paix:Nah. The airbag sensors doesn't need to be impacted directly. Otherwise, you can accidentally hit a hammer on your chassis and the balloon pops. They are activated when the rate of deceleration of the car on impact reaches the triggering threshold. |
Bossforeva:The ride is Highlander, I heard CR-V is culpable too. |
Bossforeva:I feel you too bro. I don't really like rides looking pimped, but then this experience left a sour taste in my pocket ![]() |
Lovetinz:I want the one that will shatter the pole and leave my vehicle intact jare ![]() Lovetinz:Unless you are talking about 90s vehicles with no Supplemental restraint systems. Today's vehicles posses effective SRS; airbags, seat belts and the likes, no way one will be thrown out of the vehicles like that |
lonelydora:GBAM!!! These are enough for any sane policeman to ascertain your car is Legit. But then, when you meet those criminals in uniforms along Benin-Ore express, only God will save you from the number of irrelevant documents they will be demanding, all in the grand plan to extort #200 from you. |
I used to be against folks installing bull bars in front of SUVs untill a recent incident made me see a different paradigm. My argument used to be that, If you knock a pedestrian down, the impact will be more severe than if the bull bars were not installed, so with that, I refused to install one. Recently I had an incident where a bus ran across my front, and with just a slight impact, my front bumper pulled out completely to the ground, and I knew that with a bull bar installed, It wouldn't have been. To add insult to the injury, hoodlums robbed me of my phone as I came down to recover the bumper (incident happened on Apongbon bridge around 8pm) For guys that have bull bars on, any experience where it has helped protect your bumpers, or caused serious damage on another car? Meanwhile, anybody knows where I can get quality bull bars for front and rear?

frustratedman:You are really truly frustrated bro. But trust me, It'll soon get better. Keep hope alive! Just one thing, Please do not commit suicide because that's a coward's solution. |
Badassniggga:Can you imagine? When Airtel delivers Android plan of 2Gb for the same #2000 |
May be they should have gone there with Malala. With her current Nobel Laureate profile, GEJ may even rush out to meet them at the gate. |
jpphilips:I don't understand your argument here. Maxxis is currently a global company with presence in the US, EU, Australia, Thailand, SA, etc. The ones I buy however are made in Thailand. I had retired the first 4 sets I used on the saloon after two years, and bought another four early this year, the tire rocks with pride. Funny enough, this last week, I picked up another four set, P225/70 R16 for my SUV because it has been tested and trusted. Caveat: I only buy from the companys' rep in Nigeria because I heard that some dealers are bringing in replicas from China. |
ladylaurel:Oh yeah. I've even forgotten this thread. They restored the data after several complaints, but then that offer on non-BB devices is a fraud. It usually delivers half of the data promised. I use the Android data of 2Gb @2k now, and it pretty much takes me through the month. |
^^^ Thanks a lot |

I just listened to Pastor Bosun's message, and it's jaw dropping! You only look at the events in the Northwern Nigeria, Kenya, Syria and Iraq and you will understand that Nigeria is sitting on a real Volcano. Now, I'm no longer surprised on why muslim leaders fail to condemn violence of extremist Islamic insurgents, it all works out their grand purpose. |
