My own beef is why is it that upon all the Tithes that is supposed to make food abundance in the house of God, according to the Malachi being quoted, you can't go to church and request for free food ![]() Imagine if churches run a free catering every fellowship day for hungry members using all the Tithes being collected. Definitely, not everybody will eat but some hungry ones will be grateful to God. Let us reason this matter now? |
It is not a sin to take alcohol, but it is a sin to be DRUNK! but knowing that alcohol is highly addictive, you start with a bottle, and then it goes on and on, leaving you dazed and acting out of character. 'It is not for Kings to drink wine; nor for Princes to say, where is strong drink? Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to any that is afflicted' - Prvbs 31 vs 4-5. Christians are called Kings and priests in Revelations, So as a King you don't want to be using mind altering substances that will pervert your reasoning. Also in Ephesians you are admonished not be drunk with wine, but be filled with the Holy Ghost! Both the Holy Ghost and wine has the power to influence your behaviour, while the former will take you higher up to the Most High, the latter will take you higher to silly and irrational behaviours, health problems and financial ruin. |
I believe he has shown in principle that you don't really need to show opulence like celebrity musicians or sports persons in order to prove God has blessed you. But then, I'm thinking of the people living under deprivations which he also mentioned. It would have made some difference in their lives if he had collected the gift, call for an auction/fund raiser on it and use the money to bless those folks. |
I've been hearing of police brutality and accidental discharges from a distance till it happened to me. Let me share my experience here for our collective learning. It's something you don't want to ever experience. One Sunday afternoon that I was following a '99 Camry which was in turn following a CR-V on a regular street in Surulere. All of a sudden, the CR-V cleared while the Camry caught up, stopping by it's side, and blocked me that is behind him, while the occupants of both cars began to exchange discussions right on the road. I horned again, waited, no response! And I was wondering why two adults will not give other road users the courtesy of pulling out clearly off the road to have their discussions. As my anger increased, I stepped up horning, and then the Camry sluggishly moved up a bit, I accelerated and overtook him, then made the biggest mistake of the day by blocking him in protest that they should tell me why they've been wasting my time, blocking the road that was actually built by my tax! You know Fashola no dey play on his collections? What happened next was like a poorly directed Nollywood, with my humble self as the lead actor, only that this time, the s**t was REAL! Two gun wielding maniancs jerked their doors open and jumped out, pointing their guns at me and shouting on top of their voices, and my first reaction was 'jeeez!, I don enter armed robbers trap' "We are police men and we have been tracking some armed robbers in this vicinity, do you want to die?' On hearing that, I was relieved a bit that oh, they are after all not armed robbers but Police, 'my friends' As my windows are tinted, I quickly wound down so they can see that I don't have any AK47, neither do I have any other occupants with loaded Uzzis, then I kept my hands on the steering to make it visible and clear that I wasn't about to act Jack Bauer. me: 'No Sir! I don't want to die! Sorry sir! 'Come down!!!' "who you be sef'!!! As the barrage of shouting and death bearing nozzles menacingly pointing at me, I got down still pleading for mercy on idiots that should be apologising for blocking my way unnecessarily. (Remember, they neither had any uniform, nor any police insignia on them for identification) Men, at this time I had to apologise my way to life first, because dead men tell no tales (With their blood shot eyes and hyper activity, only God knows what they've been ingesting all mornings) Then, in a split second that I looked away, Baam! on my mouth, Dude gave me a Tyson-esque punch, and a huge blister formed immediately on mu upper lip with a pencil line blood dripping slowly. As I turned to find out what happened, another one landed below my eyes, another blister! In my mind I said wow! Now I know what they call police brutality? On a broad day light? In the centre of excellence? With my vision blurred with blistered, bloody face, I reached out for my handkerchief for succour while still pleading to ensure there was no ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE. Finally, they calmed down, lowered their nozzles with warnings that I should allow the Police to do their work. You need to see my affirmative nodding, at least the angel of death has passed over! As I drove away to get an ice pack to bind the blisters, one thing kept ringing in my mind, So this is how these lawless men waste the lives of our citizens for no just cause? - Meanwhile they say 'POLICE IS YOUR FRIEND'? |
FreeGlobe:Hehehe... Agbaje don enter ONE CHANCE with caps. These traders that will seat in front of their houses on election day, playing Ludo and Whot game is giving him false hope. |
I just don't get it why people are saying that Soludo is sitting on the fence. Just like me that is not moved by emotional and beer parlour sentiments on national issues, Dude clearly states that neither party has any articulate plan on how to rescue the economy in the midst of daunting head-winds ahead. Unless you show clearly that you know the path, I can't follow you because you are shouting Oshodi!-Oshodi!, while your bus is facing Badagry. For the APC that are overly excited with the prospects of dipping their fingers into the treasury and Power positions, he has only but cautious advise. for the PDP that has been there but has nothing to show for it, he presented hard cold figures. Simply, what he is saying is, show us the map to confirm that you know the road, else na bottomless pit we dey enter so with these two parties in the lead |
abatically:You are right bro. My first car was used for four years with the glossy Factory paint still shinning, but had to repaint it early last year because of scratches here and there (door sides and bumpers), usually caused by Okada, keke, buses and some over zealous drivers. The so called oven baking was even done by a NL member that advertised his job here, and I decided to patronize him but I can tell you that just under one year, the whole thing became dull and gets so easily scratched by even wash clothes and dust Now, you see all kinds of lines on the roof top that you'll never find on a car with the Toks paint still on. It's different when another car or bike dents your car than when you notice upper parts that never gets into contact with other objects having some visible lines and faded within a year. Nigerian artisans lack requisite skills, even when the technology is the same with the Oyibos, they are always in a hurry and won't do a thorough job. I regretted doing that whole oven bake, I would have just painted the sides and bumpers and leave the roof/boot/hood as it were. |
Hehehee @ fly like a dove. I'll give my recent experience with my new 'Lander as I've not pedaled RAV4 over a long stretch. I did Lagos to the Eastside (about 360miles distance) recently and it was such a smooth experience. I was surprised at a time along the newly built Ore-Benin smooth dual carriage way when I looked at my speedo and saw the needle was at 160km/hr yet the ride was just gliding like a Superjet. I'm a no speed freak, buy I must confess that on both to n fro journey, not a single ride overtook me, there was this Siena that tried so hard, always closing up on on bad roads, but once the road smoothens up, I leave him chasing dust. Another one was a Corolla sport, I just noticed the guy was putting his car under too much stress trying to catch up while I was hust rolling like a Boss. Dude, just go for a Clean Highlander, thank me later. |
Emperoh:Obeledu Ugada! Longest time bro. Any ideas on the cost of brand new OEM for the front set in Naija? |
Enesi212:There are so many reasons people sell off their cars; upgrade to another model, cash crunch, recurring fault that's hard to fix, loss of of initial excitement, etc... I don't think it's perculiar to RX330. You also have to be aware that owners that are too stingy to go to professional auto shops may not like to keep the car for long. I personally loved the Ride and wanted to buy it last year but I couldn't get a Clean title at a good price, then I saw a highlander Limited Edition that swept me off my feet and fell in love. |
I noticed this issue on my Highlander in Lagos, but lack of regular free way to do up to 100 to 120km/hr didn't allow me to know the extent of the challenge. I took it to my mech for wheel balancing and after that felt it was ok. Not until I travelled long distance and had stretches of free way that I observed the fullness of the issue, once I hit that range of speed and had any cause to apply brakes to slow down, the whole steering keeps vibrating badly. I can't wait to get back to Lagos for a complete overhaul. P.S. I bought four brand new tires when I bought the car in October, so I can't blame it on the tires |
I guess this is a question of over promising in a bid to win customers and then under delivering at the end of the day. I can only vouch for AA's training program as I have referred someone to their Surulere office, and they did excellent job in training her. The only licence I'm sure they can easily get for anybody is the Learners' Permit, If you need Drivers Licence you must go through the long and tedious process. |
If it's a bank that I know, the operations manager and the Head, customer service will be in hot soup for this kind of 'sleeping on duty' |
Jimoh Ibrahim is the biggest Billionaire fraudster in this country. Scheming off poor people to enrich himself. All the national assets that he fraudulently acquired, from airlines to hotels to Nicon Insurance has been run aground. Why can't Nicon go out and offer genuine policies like other companies do? He always have that evil genuis that benefits only him and the corrupt govt officials. |
Brother Frosbel Be warned, when Atheists and Anti-Christs becomes your greatest partners, cheering you wildly as you desecrate the sacred things of God. You may just be kicking against the goads, and your legs can only get sore and bloody |
Lovely. They actually hooked up @11 Awesome time of worship. Triumph all the way in 2015! |
shamecurls:Absolutely! May be not for you that is still in the dark But for someone like Frosbel who has enjoyed the glory of the Powers to come, it is unthinkable. P.S. I don't expect you to understand. You need salvaltion in Christ, first. |
frosbel:Oh dear. I just saw the thread you created on your journey to endless search of the church history. The truth is that the end of your search will create more doubts and even backslideness if you insist on that quest. This was why Paul warned the Colossians to beware of the philosophers of this world, follow their writings and your faith goes out the window in no time. The Just shall live by faith! Either this or you go down to sense ruled philosopher who believes in one God for all the religions. Believe me, those new 'discoveries' are enticing for someone with a probing mind, that was how Grail message nearly led me astray before I found Christ. Don't wait till you get to the point of no return brother! |
frosbel:Frosbel, it seems like you are gradually turning into an atheist. Like they say in NL, I just dey observe o |
yemisisi:Ain't nothing scary here. The old boy is just a troubled soul, seeking for answers that are readily available for the meek in Spirit. |
I ran into my very good friend yesterday, and I nearly wept. This is someone we served together close to ten years ago, came back to Lagos and started hustling for jobs together, he eventually ended up a teacher in a private school. Believe me, he was looking lean and much older than our mates, narrated a bit of his struggles to me and I just wished I had a magic wand to do something instantly. What beats me is how these private schools charge so much, and yet pay the teachers peanuts! Today's teachers are so badly paid, may be that's why their students can't learn enough to pass common WAEC exams. |
englishmart:You can call Pat anything, but corrupt and clueless should never be part of it. The great disservice that I think Pat is doing to this nation is, not going home to Delta state since 1999 and contest for gubernatorial position. His wealth of experience in political economics would have been greatly put to good use. That alone will also give him the reach to build strong followership for a further shot at the Presidency. |
So sorry for your loss. Hope God will smile on you for a quick recovery. For every body reading this, please note that you can get a comprehensive insurance for as low as 2.5% these days. I mean, if your car is worth say, N1m, you only need 25k to comprehensively insure it and go to sleep. If any of my cars gets stolen today, I'll just walk away and be assured that another will be dropping at the expense of my insurer. Tracking is also a good option, though you'll still bear the risk of repairs if the car is found crashed/vandalised. All these 5k, 3rd party insurance is not worth it when the chips are down |
andre82:Abeg e don do bro. Your responses here has kept me laughing so long jare. @OP, pls read up http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/rx-300/ |
I was in your shoes a while back, and I also had exactly the same list. From all the online reviews I read, On comfort and reliability, fuel economy, etc... the rating goes like Rx330 - Highlander - MDx - Pilot, in a descending order. Year range is '03-'08 or thereabout. Naturally, Rx330 became my priority, and I hunted it down like crazy, unfortunately a combination of factors; VIN titles, color, price etc didn't allow me pick up any of it. Then I saw one highlander Limited Edition, and called for it. The moment the ride was brought to me, I fell in love at first sight ![]() The physical appearance of engine, body, interiors (leather with wood finish dashboard/console) underneath, etc was so tight and spotless. So, I called for the VIN report, it was also thoroughly Clean. I settled for it right away. |
Gboliwe:Good to know HOTR now have her auditorium in the coal city. Service used to be at the Golden Royale extension auditorium. |
lomomike:I have that habit of keeping OEM replaced parts for a while before discarding, so I'll dig this out and compare the grooves and part no as advised. Thanks bro |
Hi Guys, My Highlander '03 Limited Edition, drive belt makes a squealing noise for like 2secs whenever the engine starts, and then stops. I have changed the belt with a new one, it stopped but resumed after a couple of days. I have a feeling that the belts are not the appropritae size. Anybody with a better idea for a permanent fix to this should drop please. |
FransixOsita:Dude, your problem started when you took a 504 car series mechanic to go and inspect a 21st century machine. It's way below his knowledge and competency. Imagine, he didn't scan the car with OBD scanner (that's if he had ever used one), he's probably seeing a thumb start for the first time, and surely had no clue on how the mechanism works. Just advised you based on his empty fears. It reminds me of a few years back when these clowns specialized in advising car owners to change auto transmissions to manual immediately an issue pops up. Please if you are buying any car from 1996 upwards, go with a mechanic that knows how to scan and fix modern cars, leave those archaic mechs to be fixing the danfos and mercedes vboots they are used to. |
I did buy a solid ride recwntly through Checki. It's just a listing site where several vendors list their vehicles. The dealer I chose his car happened to be located at Berger, so I called him to bring the car over to my office, after inspecting the body and engine which looked top notch, I collected the VIN and sent to the Nairaland free VIN lookup. The VIN also turned out Clean, so I called the guy again to bring the car over, and the deal was sealed. Transfered him the cash, collected keys/documents one time. |
kreal:Trade fair complex is off the Mile2-Badagry express way after the Volks Wagen complex. It's very popular, anybody on that axis can direct you. |
^^^ The company is Izuccon Nigeria Ltd. Shops are located at the Aspamda trade fair complex. I will look for the business card later, for the phone nos and shop address. |
