That soldier cannot be the only one that trained them... There wasn't even only one Camp. The prison break crew used sheer numbers and gunnery to achieve their aim then. They subsequently killed several security agents at various checkpoints and posts.

As someone who has lived in Owerri for years, that place where the prison is located is the most secure place in Imo state. The prison shares a fence with Government house Owerri, also opposite the prison is the Police Div HQ and adjacent to the Div HQ is the DSS field office in Owerri and ten minutes out there is the famous 31 artillery brigade Obinze.
Now please how is it that UGM and IPOB raided that place for hours and broke free prisoners without being attacked by Security at the governor's house and the policemen and DSS at the Div HQ and field office respectively and Army were not mobilized from Obinze.
And is there anyway you can explain to me that ESN was so sophisticated to do that jailbreak. Hmmmm they must have been trained by Russian Spetsnaz or US Navy Seals to do that without any serious casualties.
Mind you at the round about they used to call the place Modotel there is a police Armoured carrier stationed there as that is the entrance to the road to government house.
That place is so secure that it is the only location in Owerri you would see Mosques there.

The original batch of ESN were camped secretly in the forest And trained for months with Assault rifles. Former military service men were paid to train them. You must have read in the news of a former soldier that was arrested for helping in training. Boko Haram, Al Qaeda and other militia groups do lots of training as well. There appear to be other groups perpetrating unrest in the region according to a recent detailed report on the insecurity in the southeast
Security experts say many southeast states are still paying the price as evidenced by the new level of strange and audacious criminality in the region.

Enugu - A report by the New Telegraph newspaper has revealed that the unknown gunmen terrorising the southeast region are known as the Fallen Angels or Auto Pilot group.

According to the report, the group is made up of dissidents in the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The report named Finland-based Simon Ekpa as the man behind the unknown gunmen terrorising the southeast.

“In closed circles, they call them ‘the Fallen Angels’ and in more common parlance, they are known as ‘the Auto-Pilot group’.

The name ‘Fallen Angels’ came up in the course of investigations to figure out the real identity of the group defying the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu and undermining the command and control structure of IPOB while claiming to fight for the release of Kanu and emancipation of the Igbo nation.”

The report noted that the Fallen Angels are largely made up of former members of IPOB – some expelled members, some disgruntled members, and others who could not endure the discipline (and sometimes, highhandedness) embodied in the command and control structure of IPOB.

Also among this group are a few others co-opted into the dissident group from external groups and gangs whose interests are not defined.

A source quoted in the report said:

“Most of these men are largely loyal to themselves or whatever they find convenient.It is the Fallen Angels, some other small splinter groups within the IPOB family that are fast being rolled into one violent body under the Auto-Pilot group. The Auto-Pilot group has a known leader in the person of Simon Ekpa.

“While claiming that their loyalty is to Nnamdi Kanu alone and that their struggle is to free him from incarceration, the Auto-Pilot group has repeatedly defied and denounced the leadership of the Directorate of State, the highest governing body in IPOB set up by Nnamdi Kanu himself.”

In Summary, The armed insurgency is caused mostly by factional Ipob members. They're still Ipob men nonetheless...

I came across some ipob Facebook Pages claiming that six of the charges have been struck out, remaining only one charge... Very laughable. Those ipob guys didn't even bother to read the judgement text. Very ignorant set of folks.

The bail application was denied. The judge asked the defendant to explain why he breached All the previous bail conditions before applying for a fresh bail.
He still has 7 charges to face.

In summary, he's not coming out anytime soon.

Going forward, individuals may claim membership of IPOB and openly commit Perry crimes and get away with it because obviously, IPOB -linked crimes can not be investigated with the view to arresting individual perpetrators and serving them justice.
