submit via courier asap. Pick up in person.

Can one submit via courier even though I'm based in Abuja and did biometric in Abuja? I'm having almost the same issue. I could only get submit appointment for 28th July. While trying to search for closer dates and reschedule the appointment I got this message "You are not eligible to reschedule after 48 hours of appoitnment creation"

Has anyone successfully used Pearson Test (PTE Academic UKVI - https://www.pearsonpte.com/selt-tests/pte-academic-ukvi) as proof of English for the Heatlhcare Visa application. Also, when applying from within the UK, can an appliation be made few days before the current visa expires or there is a stipulated number of days? Appreciate your responses.

Perhaps she has a valid US visa. Please confirm from her.

DeeOneBangin:
Just putting this out there;

So a colleague of mine on tier 2 visa traveled to naija and back using KLM. Had a stop over at Amsterdam on both journeys, didn’t have a transit visa.

I know after brexit, only British citizens could fly KLM or Air France or any of these European airlines without a transit visa. I stand to be corrected.

I dunno about any other airline, but she flew KLM to naija and back to the UK and she’s on Tier 2 visa.

Go ahead and use your passport like that. You can't renew your passport until it's less than 6 month validity.

Someone please help!

I am planning to apply for a standard visitors visa (academics) or Temporary Work – Government Authorised Exchange visa (for sponsored researcherer) - (not even sure which one to go for yet) in September or thereabout for a Postdoctoral research visit for 12 months in UK. My question is about my Passport which expires in 13 September 2023 but the suppose visit would end 30 September 2023. Do I need to renew my passport in order to have the whole period of visit/visa covered in the passport or I should go ahead and apply with the passport that would expire before my visit ends?

Please I need your advice. Thanks in advance.

Well, I was in Dubai last month, a fully vaccinated taveller requires negative covid test 48hrs max before boarding. On your return trip to Ngr however, you are not required to do any test since April 4th.

spiralwedge:
No one has confirmed if a Covid19 test is required for a fully vaccinated person (3 times vaccinated).

If it is, can it be done at the airport? And how much?

My good people, I understand I can fly through CDG, FRA or AMS enroute UK without getting a transit visa if I have US visa. I read this sometime ago on this_day_online https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/12/31/air-france-transit-visa-compulsory-for-nigerians-travelling-to-uk-from-january-1/#:~:text=Air%20France%2D%20KLM%20has%20reintroduced. Has anyone done this without hitch?

So I am right when i said drop off is NOT DHL office.

puffmama:

Yes ..same with Lagos . It's at the embassy that you drop off
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by cerezo: 2:40pm On Mar 31, 2022
Tbh, i'm confused too. See screenshot below. Drop-off used to be at DHL office, but it's a bit different this time.

fcisca:
Dear all,
Thank you for the spirit of Ubuntu on these pages. For those who have successfully scheduled IW dates for Abuja, did you get the standard Dropbox confirmation letters or the consular appointment confirmation?

T for thanks

For the funds you need to keep in your account, the ECO uses oanda.com. For others such as visa and ihs payments, you have to source for that yourself.

IcecoldDon:

Right. Mine is Tier 4 though i.e Student Visa. Maybe that is the reason why the set rates are £470 for everyone and while there was no visible option for discount. Even for PoF it is shown as £680 for 9 months for each person still not stating any discrepancy between adult or infant. What is the safest conversion rates to use for these official payments as i am very sure it cant be black market rate of £1/N750 right?

Bro, mine is exactly 7 weeks today. I just pray it should not exceed 8 weeks oo. I need my passport back ASAP

For those who are experiencing serious delay on their applications, this might not be totally unrelated to the current evacuation effort in Afghanistan. If you recently ring the home office on their paid line (from within the uk), you'd most likely hear something about the effort the home office is making to get some legit people out of Afhanistan as quickly as it can. Don't forget that this means they will be assessing thousands if not millions of applications from this part of the world as we speak. This means priority may be given to such applications over tourist visa applications. Quite unfortunate, I also had an application that went in Sept 3 and came out Nov 3rd.

Call BA on 07080601736, tell them you would want them to book a ticket for you. Also, tell him/her that you will like to pay in Naira through your bank (u can do this via GT Internet banking airline & travels menu). Usually, I search for the ticket myself before calling them. This way you would have an idea of the cost. They usually add $30 charge. For example if you see $890 when you search yourself, you probably would be told $920 when they assist you. Lastly, they will also tell you the cost in Naira (cbn rate conversion) and ask you to pay before the ticket expires.

Debbieeeeeee:

Most airlines except for BA accepts for you to book on hold. You can also book with your travel agent , or book on wakanow / travelstart

Thanks a lot. This is very helpful. The Home Test kit requires you to put the swab gently into the nostrils, so I guess it qualifies for PCR test. Once again, thanks for the clarification.

Nchabuomo:

There's not really a category. When you took the test did they put a swab down your nose? If yes, then it's a PCR test.

Additionally, if you have not taken the test tell them that you want a PCR test, not that you need to though as most people are given PCR tests unless you request for rapid response test.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by cerezo: 12:24pm On Oct 09, 2020
Please explain, what category does the UK Govt Home Test Kit fall into? That's what I plan to use.

Nchabuomo:

If it's a PCR test it is accepted.

Whether the test is free or not doesn't concern Nigeria.

Rapid response tests aren't accepted due to its margin of error

Hello Folks,
Is there anyone who used the free NHS test result to fly BA or any other airline to Nigeria recently? I hope it's acceptable in Nigeria.

Good people, please share your experience regarding tuition payment from Nigerian Banks. I know the visa gist are hotter at the moment but this is another hurdle waiting for every successful tier4 visa applicant thereafter.

Hello Folks,
Please which bank is at the moment responding promptly to tuition payment request via Form A. An idea of their GBP rate will also be helpful. Thanks
