This is a very stupid thing to say. If your family member dies of this virus, you'd be speaking differently.

Lemme educate you.
1918, when the Spanish flu hit, there was an estimated world population of 1.8 billion people.
The number of deaths from the flu was at 50 million.
The number of infected was at 500 million.

Since you like percentages, let's do some.
The number of deaths in 1918 to the world's population was just 2.7%
2.7% is small until you remember that 2.7% is a whopping 50 million people.
The number of deaths from the confirmed cases of 500 million is small, just 10%, until you remember that just 10% is a whooping 50 million people.

Next time, think before you open your stupid mouth or type stupid things.
You are saying the number of people that died was just 2.7% or 10%.

If any of your family or friends was among those 10% you mentioned, would you be so cavalier about the whole thing?

Be careful what you say about people you do not know, never met and may never meet.

Were you born when his father started several businesses and added Domino chain of supermarkets to his businesses. Have you never heard of Domino stores? I'm sure you must have either a Domino store or Pizza around your neighbourhood now. That family has always been super rich - not wealth from politics but trading and industry.

Were you born when Ben Bruce started managing his father's billion naira business empire? Were you born when Ben started the highly successful most beautiful girl pageant in Nigeria in 1981? Where were you when he lived in America several years ago? Did he steal public funds to set up Silverbird group? He was not in politics then. What was wrong with his venture into politics to serve his people? Were you asleep when Silverbird galleria was sealed up four years ago over a debt running into several millions? Why did he not loot funds to have his organisation reopened?
Where were you when he honourably stepped down for the serving Senator to take over based on a simple gentleman agreement between the party and party members. He could have remained there if he wanted. MBGN and Domino stores brought him and his family fame. There are several families like that in Nigeria like Tejuosho, Dantata, Fajemirokun, Eleganza, Ibru, Augustine Ilodibe (Ekene dili Chukwu) and many more who never ventured into politics.

You cannot equate Ben Bruce Murray among your so called looters bro. Looters never at the beginning have visible means of income, if you do not know. They open factories and own estates after they get into political offices. That is why they cannot defend their sources of wealth before EFCC & ICPC.

Ben Bruce is not one of those my brother. That is why he enjoys his wealth in peace. He was already stupendously wealthy from very clean income before his senatorial office.

Please always check your information before your comments so you do not end defaming people.
May you live long, my brother. Thank you for educating the clueless.

I was about to give that covidiot a response, but you beat me to it. And you replied him in such an elegant, factual manner. God bless you.

People don't even realise that Ben Bruce has branches of Silverbird in other African countries outside Nigeria, that earn cool, hard cash in USD.

I remember going into his Silverbird media bookstores in Nairobi, a few years ago.

Thank you, o jaré!! May you live long! What needs to be done is to create or implement effective logistics and distribution services to ensure the palliatives get to the right people, an are not hijacked by a select few.

All those speaking grammar against the lockdown, CANNOT offer any other practical alternative, to checkmate the spread of the virus, in a way that the lockdown is trying to do. angry

The most wayward and unruly set of people in the world, were put inside Nigeria.

Ask them to practise social distancing. They will ignore you, the minute it is time to share one mudu of garri. shocked

Tell them to wash their hands every 30 minutes, or to use sanitiser they will ignore you, and say after all, they had their bath in the morning, as if that is enough to protect them.

The freedom to swing your arms of rebellion ends where another man's nose begins.

The sad thing is that their evil actions of flouting the lockdown, will endanger the lives of family, friends and acquaintances around them, if they end up becoming asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19. undecided

This virus spends 3-5 days on stainless steel surfaces and metal. It lasts for about 4 days on plastics. So even if you are being careful, there are still chances that people around you can contract the virus from infected surfaces, anywhere they go, and they might end up infecting you as well! sad

Isn't it this Nigeria where people do not disinfect their basic homes and shops, not to talk of their environment? Abegi!! sad

Wike is the Governor and Chief Security Officer of Rivers State and so can, should and has done the right thing to protect his territory.

What exactly was the mission of the helicopter and who were the passengers?

Their Sinister , unknown mission is highly suspicious.

Why does Lagos State government have right to arrest and prosecute Funke Akindele etc for breaking the Lockdown Regulations and Rivers State government can't arrest and prosecute people for same offences?

SMH undecided

What business is more important than the health of Rivers State people at this particular point in time?

Wike can't try that with Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo as president.

Please make them understand this simple fact.

Caverton is foolish for trying to fight the state government.

The state government owns all the land within its boundary and any
business that wants to succeed must obey state rules and regulations.

All Caverton management should have done is submit the manifest of its passengers for
proper testing and quarantine but they refused because they feel too big.
Caverton is NOT a licensed medical outfit, neither is it the Ministry of Health. It is NOT their job to provide details of the health status of their passengers.

The only thing Wike should have done, was to order that the pilots and the passengers should be tested on arrival. And the state government has NO powers to dictate who can fly over its airspace.

Aviation, airports and the national airspace as well as airline passenger issues, are all on the exclusive legislative list, which is solely the federal government's jurisdiction.

So what kind of grammar is Wike speaking? He should take legal advice from his wife, please!!

Indeed. Deregulation and liberalisation go hand in hand. It is either all or none. That is the difference between the success story of telecommunications and the failure so far of the power sector.

No one told them what to charge for their services and where they decide to deploy. When goverment begins to fly the kite of so called 'security' meaning they are prepared to distort the market then nothing can be achieved.

They can decide to mess up the Dangote refinery for instance overnight.
Please people should stop comparing bthe telecoms sector to the oil industry. There is absolutely NO basis of comparison.

Govt never regulated the cost of calls, even when it was only NITEL running everything in the telecoms sector. NITEL had no competition back then.

All govt did was to liberalise the sector, by allowing GSM companies to come in. A bidding session was held, frequencies were sold, and new firms came in to provide telecoms services.

There was already pent up demand, but zero infrastructure, so the new firms had to start building backhaul to carry voice traffic on the GSM network.

Initially only two firms appeared on the horizon - MTN and CELTEL (which later became Zain, VMobile and finally Airtel).

Other firms were later licenses to join them (i.e. Etisalat and Glo).

Prices were never fixed for this sector so the question of deregulation never featured. Instead, it was competition and new entrants that drive down the pricing.

Glo came in with per second billing, and that was the game changer for the industry. Other firms who had initially declined to offer the same pricing, had to get in board in order to remain competitive....

This is the brain behind Nigerians response to this virus ....but he is not praised because of where he is from ...

Nna keep doing your work ...we appreciate you
He is not praised, simply because the only thing he only knows how to do, is to speak plenty grammar.

If not for Lagos State and Sanwo-Olu's team that took charge and deployed men, materials and resources, this guy would still be speaking empty grammar and quoting statistics, up and down during this COVID-19 wahala.....

His team was supposed to manage Lassa fever. What happened? Between January and March this year, 168 people have died from Lassa fever including 12 medical doctors.

What did NCDC do, to prevent it, or to provide treatment and attention to the infected patients? Zero.

He went on air last year, to speak his usual grammar about how treatment for Lassa fever was free.

The following week, a national newspaper interviewed patients in the affected areas, and they all confirmed that it was NOT free, and they made payment for it.

When he was asked to state his own side, he started mumbling and stuttering.

The man needs to be changed, honestly. He just likes photo opportunities and TV appearance.

Till today, Lassa fever is still ravaging over 12 states from North to the South-south, and NCDC under Dr. Chikwe is still looking at it, without curbing it.

Now, COVID-19 disease has overshadowed it, and the man has ignored the fact that Lassa fever is still running unchecked in many communities.....

Only God can save us!

We have not been paid by FBN for the logo we designed for their 125th Year anniversary celebrations and FBN is still protecting those who used their privileged position in FBN to cheat us out of our sweat and labour by using the logo we created for the bank to celebrate their 125th Year anniversary for First Bank Plc without our permission or paying us a dime.
We were interviewed by Saharareporters

Instead of FBN to get in touch with us for an amicable solution, they called Saharareporters. When asked pointedly by Saharareporters if they had paid us, the FBN rep on the phone said No. When asked why, he promised to find out and get back to Saharareporters. He asked his lawyers to request for 20 million naira damages for unauthorised use of his picture, and for using his photograph in a way that damages his reputation, as he was not a beer drinker.

Omo, they called him sharp-sharp and negotiated. After posting a huge apology online, they paid him 6 million for the whole stress....

First Bank of Nigeria Limited has saluted medical professionals tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria and the world.

The Bank in a series of tweets on its Twitter page on Friday acknowledged the role medical experts are playing to fight the virus.

“No cape, just lab-coats. No superhuman capability, just dedication, strength, and compassion. As we play our parts of staying at home, we thank our medical professionals for being our ‘Avengers’.”
