There are quite a few places that require the services of a 3d modeller. Some might also require a good knowledge of 2d design though

1) Branding agency - I personally worked 5years at an agency creating 3d visualizations for planned events, exhibition stands and product designs. There are quite a few agencies looking for graphics artists with 3d skills from time to time.

2) Architecture and interior design firms- creating 3d visualizations of architectural plans and interior design. I know a guy that worked creating 3d models of only furniture for an interior design shop. I don't see job offers from arch firms as often though.

3) TV/video production - that will require creating motion graphics for TV stations and video production houses. Might also require knowledge of 2d video editing softwares like premiere and after effects.

4) Freelancing on freelance sites as someone already mentioned, which is what I'm currently doing.

5) Film/3d animation/video games - this would have been the most ideal for most 3d artists here, but unfortunately, there's no budding industry presently for 3d artists in Nigeria.

The film industry is the most mature in Nigeria, but I don't see the use of 3d that much.

Video games industry, non existent.

3d animation/movies - there are a few studios out there, but I don't think they employ 3d artists very often if at all. This again shows a lack of growth in that field.

Stripping can be lucrative over there( yes, just stripping, no hoeing) , but no try am for naija.

Guy, if the niche is making you money, better stay there o. No niche is easy - if the niche is too easy, then know it is not making good money. Even though an easy niche makes you money, it is only temporary.

If I tell you how many hours I put in to deliver an order, you will shout. As you see me so, I have no social life, all because I want to deliver order on fiverr.

Trust me I understand, but 3d takes too much time. Ask anyone that's into the same business.
I don't plan to switch to writing or something that's drastically different from what I'm experienced in, I'll still set up something graphics related. But I want something that allows me to use templates for quick delivery.

I'm sure many guys are now making more than this. It's over a year since i posted my earnings screenshot. While i work my way to remain relevant on Fiverr, i am also pulling out my precious clients to have direct deal. Trust me, it has been great.

I still manage two accounts; both on Nigeria flag. I hope someone will not count this as showoff, but motivation.

PS: I don't have anything to sell, so no need to call it advert. All my books and videos are free.

It is getting to the point where I daresay, phones have led to the death of more people than hunger.

Guy, I was thinking about the same thing. I don't understand this obsession with documenting and subsequently broadcasting every single moment of our lives. She cheated on her husband , crime number one, but she also recorded it so someone else can use it for blackmail in future.

Can someone please explain why people, women mostly , are so obsessed with taking nude pictures of themselves.
You are cheating on your husband, you now keep video evidence of your "mumuness" on top so that someone can use it as blackmail in future.
Most times you hear cases of blackmail or revenge porn nah against women sha (and it's always images they recorded with their own hands or with consent from another person)

Just curious, why would you need two or more fiverr accounts.
We also need to be more mindful of our reputation on these platforms. I just saw a thread on Fiverr forums complaining about the quality of Nigerian resume writers.

You are right. The rate this time is lower that previous transactions.

I just like having options - whether it's sendvalu , or exchangers on nairaland or withdrawing from atm directly. It's good to to compare prices before any exchange.

My money is still hanging there with that of a friend. I initiated a transaction on Sunday, and on Monday, I got a notification that I will be refunded. I am yet to get a refund. People should avoid them for now

I started using sendvalu cos u recommended them. I used them just today and got my payment within a few hours.

I never used that $5 method when I was a customer of BR section. Before person go order slave order.

Also, I once lost a job because my bid was "too low" ($70). The guy contacted me and was asking while mine was low cs others where charging 200+ for the job. Tho, I tried to explain that I was trying to earn a reputation first. The guy just drop one excuse move ahead.

I always try to charge right for any job, cause the time and effort 3D graphics take nor be joke at all oh. Especially when you see what pple make from other niche... E dey somehow.

You're correct, one has to be careful not to charge too low on a job that's worth so much.
I should have mentioned that the first $5 order from BR was for a mockup that I simply downloaded online and made minor adjustment.

3D graphics does take time and effort like you say. In the time it might take me to complete one job, someone from another niche may complete 20 orders in the same time. One of the reasons for this is that these niches benefit from the use of presets/templates.

That's why I created another gig for just product mockups - all I do is place a label/artwork on a pre-existing model and that's it. The only time I take on a more complex job now is if the buyer agrees to a sensible price.

Why do people find any of this new? Most girls have always used sex as a bargaining tool, even if it's just on a subconscious level.

One big challenge I've had and slowly started to overcome -
Initially had one gig for just general 3d modelling and rendering work - includes character modelling, arch rendering, product rendering e.t.c.
The problem: they can take a long time and the pay wasn't making sense for the amount of work.

My solution: I noticed some sellers under just offer product mockup rendering as a 3d service. These are faster to do( just model simple shapes and slap the product artwork on it). The pay is cheap but it work you can finish one hour tops especially after you've created your preset.
I just set up a similar gig just last month it's replaced my initial gig as top-seller.

Abeg, any other person offering my kind of service, make we relate....it ain't easy.

I started selling june 2017 after reading through most of this particular thread.

Got my first job through the buyer requests section - my strategy, as suggested on one of the early pages, is to quote $5 for requests just to attract buyers.

Once you complete that first job to the satisfaction of your buyer chances are you'll get 5 star reviews easily and attract new/repeat buyers.

Just tried sendvalu just to check their exchange rate and to see how it works.

I was surprised I was able to register, send money(only tried $50) and receive in my local account within a little over an hour.

@priceaction is right. The complete blame is on the CBN

Normally they should reprint based on the denomination cos some are used more frequently than others

You rarely see 1000 and 500 naira notes as bad as the other denominations.

100 naira bills in particular are the worst. I swear most of the country's health problems come from handling these money alone.

If nah Nigeria now they will call us a shithole country.
