how many mistakes do u have to make to lose a game?

are you a football follower or u just started watching this game?

u think a team make plenty mistakes in a match?
i need a spiritualist to help me with what ure saying, its beyond my understanding
You don't get it do you?
WIN, LOSE, DRAW here is irrelevant . . .I'm not talking about the scoreline.
Scoreline doesn't neccessarily depict the effect of the game.
Okay maybe if I put it in BOLD - OVERALL WE DEFENDED WELL  . . . NOT GREAT BUT 'WELL'

Plenty mistakes? How many mistakes did they make for you to use the word 'plenty'?
Maybe you do need a spiritualist . . .contact DK ASAP. cheesy cheesy cheesy

aside 2 slip ups, we defended well?
A big fat YES!!!!

Moonstone:
In that game, our game was great but how you say we defended well is what I'm still struggling with. We all know the former Manchester United defence and needless to say, we have deteriorated from what we used to be. That rash penalty and FK were the two things that could have been our undoing and that is 2 mistakes too many. I am just happy we came out with 3 points. Y'all know if we played Chelsea the way we played Liverpool. . . .it would have been disastrous.
What bothers me most is not the fact that we conceded two goals in the space of lightning, but the fact that this is the second time we are doing that in one week. . . it's depressing. Everton scored two goals in the most amazing way when we got complacent, what does that say to you? We can NOT be safe with any lead and no matter what, with this defence, we will always be on the edge until the whistle is blown. You should have seen me praying after we scored the 3rd goal and I really don't like feeling like that.

We played well, created opportunities but there is no room for errors in soccer. The scoreline doesn't always reflect the way a team played but that's all that matters in the end.

P.S. (So offtopic: I have a job for you to do, I'll let you know when we're both online smiley )
I never said we defended great . . . I said we defended well.
Sometimes we need to give the defenders some credit.
We were playing Liverpool - not West Ham
Even against Newcastle, Carroll had like 3 chances I can recollect right now, where they could have scored.
Liverpool didn't create any chance yesterday so much for our defending. Most of their passes where square and back passes.
They couldn't get the ball up to Torres all game until when O'Shea gave away the FK.

LIKE I SAID BEFORE THE SCORELINE DOESN'T ALWAYS REFLECT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF A TEAM.

they didnt have a sniff at goal but got 2 goals. who cares if they got the goals via throw ins?
the defenders were supposed to ensure we didnt concede
stop mis-interpreting simple english. we played well but our defenders made silly errors that nearly swung the game in other way
making schoolboi mistakes is not equal to not playing well. abi what are u on about?
smh; u outplayed someone and u get 2 goals only for defenders to squander the lead to mistakes and yet we defended well

thank you bros

we have heard you and oh yeah, SAF feels the defenders got a reprieve cos of Berbatov

yeah, thats what the coach feels so who is chamotex to tell us otherwise?

I cant be bothered to re-quote myself.

Torres was off colour 40boi; that wasnt the Torres we know but that shouldnt take away anythn from the win

whoever said we defended well is high on rice crispies

Evans got a penatly and Oshea woulda been sent off and that was good defending?

who cares if your Goalie didnt make saves but if the game had ended 2-2 would u have said they defended well?
I seriously don't know how you guys analyze your footie sometimes.
How can anyone say we didn't defend well . . . maybe they should go and watch the match again.
Can you tell me any chance LIVERPOOL had in the game? . . . I mean any goal scoring opportunity.
Yes, we conceded one rash penalty and a FK . . . how does that take away from the fact that we were playing Liverpool and they didn't even have a sniff at goal.

The scoreline is irrelevant here . . . we conceded from 2 set-pieces but overall the defenders should be given some credit FFS.
This was the same back 5 that was all over the place at Goodison Park where Everton coulda scored more than the 3 they did with a host of other clear cut chances and VDS making saves here and there.

Don't teams play well and still lose games . . . . so beacuse they lost, does that mean they didn't play well.
You guys need to put things into perspective when you analyze abeg.
Yes we conceded 2 goals and if it had ended 2-2, it would have been a bad result but I will still say the team DEFENDED WELL in this context of the match.

In football, the scoreline doesn't always reflect the way a team played.
I dont like repeating myself. cool

I've noticed he doesn't drop off as much as he used to.
He now plays further up . . . close to the last defender.
Could that be the reason he's scoring more goals?

chamotex,
I dont think i agree with you when you say we defended well.Evan's tackle on Torres that led to the penalty was clumsy and it undid the solid work the defence had done till that point.Flat-footed O'Shea was all over the place, unable to time Torres' run properly and was a tad lucky to still be on the pitch.
If we defended well,we shouldn't have thrown away a two-goal lead for the second time in just over a weak. The defence is fragile.
Conceeding from a penalty and a free kick which were softly given away (all because the defences were all over the place) is criminal, but we can talk about it because we got three points.
Like I said before, apart from those two slip ups . . . we defended well and never gave Liverpool any chance in front of goal.
Torres couldn't do nada all game besides the penalty he earned.
Vidic put him in his pocket.
VDS didn't have anything to do all game.
Now go back a week to when we played Everton and check out how many clear cut chances Everton had to score.
It was a major improvement.

Todays game was against our arch rivals not just against any side . . . . and they never had any chance or any close attempt at goal.
Penalty was rash, no doubt . . . but overall defending was solid considering who we were up against.
I think we should give them some credit . . . this was the same back 5 that played against Everton.

The 3 points is all I care about right now.
I'm not too worried about the defending . . . . WE DEFENDED WELL . . . . . YES I SAID IT . . . WE DEFENDED WELL!!!
VDS barely had any save to make . . . I can't even remember him making any saves at all.
We conceded a penalty and a FK, which they scored from . . . . that was all.

On the positive note - It was nice seeing Macheda getting a chance.
I've seen this boy play for the reserves this season and he is top quality.
His off the ball movement, pace, aggression is impressive not to talk of his finish and he is even skillful.

I think he needs more games in the first team to aid his development.
He is also getting BIGGER - I read in one of his interviews some weeks ago where he is said he has been spending a lot of time in the gym doing weight training to improve his strength and physique. He looked bigger than he was when he fist came into the team.

I think he will definitely start against Scunthorpe in midweek.

And those 2 lines in bold are the only things I wrote abi? well you are right on one point, a lot of it is bad mind, I don't deny that, it doesn't change the fact that there is not much quality coming through Manure's youth ranks though, particularly when compared with Arsenal and with the HG rule that is bad news for Manure and one that makes me very happy.

With the HG rule, the quality of your young players becomes even more important and with the new financial rules, you just can't go about splashing the cash to overcome the negative impact of not having good young players so whichever way you look at it Manure's future doesn't look very rosy from where I stand whereas Arsenal tick all the sweet spots.

1. We have good young players coming through (Won Academy leagues back to back with different players and a Youth cup in recent times with some of those players already in the first team frame within 2 years).

2. We are now making a success of turning them into first teamers (our squad now is over 70% composed of players who came through our youth system whereas the last youth product to have been fully integrated into the first team picture at Manure is Fletcher).

3. We are still going out there to get talented youth players in their teens (Wellington and Galindo for example who will qualify as HG) while Manure is going for Bebe, Obertan and Hernandez in their 20s who will  never qualify as HG and in some cases don't really look the part.

Now fault my points with data of your own and stop repeating the mantra that because you were good yesterday, you will still be good tomorrow or better still stop the glib remarks about someone being deluded and make some sense of your own. undecided
Story Story!!!

You are talking like Arsenal are the only players who have young talents.
Welbeck just finished playing against your team tonight . . . .Cleverley is there.
We also have youngsters like King and Kames on loan at Preston . . . . so what is your point exactly.

HG rules, HG rules blah blah blah . . . even if there is no talent, all any team has to do is to name 8 HG in the squad . . . they dont necessarily have to play. Plus Under 21's dont even count.

Like I said before, its all bad mind which is understandable because your analogy is flawed.

Is this what I've said or the assumption you've jumped to? for the sake of clarity and making allowance for grammatical misunderstandings, here is what I mean in a nutshell. At present the quality in Manure's youth ranks is quite suspect and it doesn't bode well for their future, Arsenal are better positioned in this regards compared to them and the results in the youth ranks indicate this, if  this position doesn't change then Manure will in the near future slip out of the top 4 particularly with the HG rule coming into play and their increasingly precarious financial situation. Is that clear enough now?
No it was what you said and the assumption you jumped to, not me.
duduspace:
Why did Sauron have to run away now? his boy Morrison, was in the Manure Reserves team beaten by Aston Villa reserves 4-1 yesterday and so was Mr Bebe idi and Silvestre's nephew. I feel for Manure, they will be the next to go the way of Liverfluke, they haven't got much quality coming through the ranks (apart from Cleverley and 1 or 2 more) despite the HG rule, na only long range shots that Gibson guy sabi shoot.
I wonder how they'll excel in the future, expect to see Manure slide down as Messrs Giggs and Scholes wind up their careers, Baba Fergie might just exit with them so so as not to soil his legacy.
Your argument is pointless.
It would have even been better if you had judged with the youth team and not the reserves.
Any one can play for the reserves, hence, doesn't reflect much. For example, we won the reserves league for our section last season but that doesn't mean anything regarding to what the future holds.

You pointed out the 4-1 defeat and guesstimated that 'not much quality is coming through'.
Majority of this is simply bad mind and your optimism to see United crumble grin grin grin grin which is understandable as a GAYnner. cheesy cheesy

You cant use Reserves result to extrapolate future success . . . that is my point.
For all I care the reserves can finish bottom . . . It doesn't mean a player from that team can't make it into the first team.

The results doesn't matter as much . . . it's used to breed players.
