afrodoc: o boy see vex! na 3 times u post ur reply o cheesy
but seriously i feel ur pain. i have a fellow United fan who is a friend the guy has been posting his disappointments on facebook all weekend.
for me i have decided to take things easy cos i check all permutations i no know wetin we go do

A) sack moyes..........which manager is available that will take the job and we are sure wont fail the way moyes seems to be.

B) keep moyes and overhaul the team..........which world class players will be willing to come to our club and play under moyes.as we saw in the summer money doesnt always buy love.

C) sack and moyes AND overhaul the team...........instability could set in

D) moyes stays and somehow turns things around with these players

E) keep moyes and slide into mediocrity a la liverpool under Graeme Souness.
Sacking Moyes is not realistic at least not until something drastic happens.
For me he has made so many mistakes already in his short time at the club
I never expected us to be bulldozing teams left right centre or anything but I didn't expect it to get this bad either.

The recent comments he has been making to the media about the team recently suggests to be that he is incompetent and confused about what to do.

I just hope he learns from his mistakes quickly before its too late.

News going round in the media today is that he failed to listen to Fergie's advice about keeping some back room staffs at the club in the summer.

coogar: you seem to have forgotten the mental aspect of this. the team just lost 4-1 to their bitter rivals. the next league game should have been handled with a bit more of seriousness.

i doubt you would find a league game under fergie where he played jones as RB & buttner as LB. they are basically 2 handicaps as far as attacking football is concerned.

when carrick & ando have played in the past, they were supported with strength in the other areas of the pitch.

analyse this as a whole, stop looking at it in parts. have buttner/jones been our wingbacks in the games rooney/chicha played in the past? the game hadn't even started when I
i called moyes a fool. the line-up & the subs already told me the selection was awful.

if buttner could get another start after wednesday, so should rafael. that moyes preferred jones to rafael/fabio is flawed in principle. fabio started in the champions league final in 2011. who is jones?
Exactly, which further buttresses my point that they are not good enough.
Why do we have a squad..
If these players cannot come in and do a decent job against a team like West brom then why do we have them at a club like Manchester United

So if Rafael doesn't play or gets injured we should forget about winning?
Or if Evra is out of the team we should forfeit the match?

I am pissed off
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 9:07pm On Sep 29, 2013
coogar: the line-up was flawed in principle.
not even fergie(in his partial senility) fielded jones & buttner as fullbacks in a must-win game. moyes had nani & kagawa as inverted wingers - it simply means he relied on mediocres like jones & buttner to provide the width against west brom. which of these rookies can even cross the ball to save a life?

that was why we couldn't break west brom down with the amount of control we had in the first half. everyone kept running to the middle to create a clusterfück. anderson & carrick midfield combo was also wrong. one loves to be static, the other loves to move with 1-2 ball or creating triangles, where was the tandem?

you guys underestimated west brom and it seems you didn't learn lessons last season when fergie threw his common sense away and allowed sentiments to becloud his judgement. 2-5 scoreline became 5-5 under fergie's nose. football is not about names, it's about balance. moyes' team last night made no sense and his substitutions were utterly bizarre.
I don't care about the principles...if these players are not good enough to beat West brom at OT why are they in the squad?

Phil Jones was not playing RB for the first time yesterday, neither was Buttner at LB

Carrick and Ando were not playing together for the first time either.

Rooney and Chicha have started games together so many times as well.

elampiro: I don't get it. I never implied that.

In a 4-3-3, we can have Nani/Valencia on the right, RVP in the middle and Rooney on the left.

In the real football tactics, there is nothing like hole position in a 4-3-3 formation. It's more obvious in the 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formations.

May be we can now say that a formation of 4-2-1-3 should identify the hole position with the task of getting the one man to be more attack minded.

I guess I have answered your question in the best way possible.
Don't try to school me on tactics and formations.
WTF is real football tactics?

I never said there was a hole position in 4-3-3, I simply answered your question about where Rooney has been playing.

You've just stated the lineup/formation I posted earlier.
Only thing is Rooney will not be moved any time soon cos DM is not brave enough to do that for obvious reasons I have stated earlier.
So come up with another formation/line up...a realistic one
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 6:56pm On Sep 29, 2013
elampiro: Where has he been playing all these while? Rooney can play anywhere in the attack.
Rooney has been playing in the hole...duhh

The only position left is the main striking role...so are you saying RVP should be dropped for Rooney?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 6:05pm On Sep 29, 2013
elampiro: In a 4-3-3, Rooney cannot be in the midfield.
I didn't say he'll play in midfield... I asked where will he play?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 2:50pm On Sep 29, 2013
After saying we should expect more of what happened last week against Citeh and then went on to say he is concerned after yesterday's match, now this phool has gone public again to say we cant win the Champions League?

Next week he will tell us we can't make top 4 this year.

This just proves we've got the wrong manager with the wrong mentality.

My people, make una prepare for whatever happens this season o.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 2:46pm On Sep 29, 2013
elampiro: But for now, the coach should go and hide Ferdinand, Anderson and Butttner. Anderson is only good at the apex of three man midfield.

Our midfield should have Carrick and Cleverly/Fellaini. Then Jones or Anderson can be used at the base and apex of a 3 man midfield respectively. But Fellaini can also be at the apex as we had in the City game when Cleverly came in.
So where will Rooney play in this your 3 man midfield?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 9:13am On Sep 29, 2013
RuuDie: Kagawa or any other midfielder for that matter will never get the brief to play that #10 or "in the hole", behind the striker role unless Rooney is out of the way or played on the wings...
Moyes needs to be firm about this. Its a very hard decision to make but if we are going to get any sort of creativity from that area of the pitch, Rooney just has to vacate that role.
Can't you see that Moyes is kissing Rooney's arsse at the moment because he doesn't want him to leave.
So he's playing him in his favourite position in order to make him happy.
I bet he's not even brave enough to even substitute Rooney if/when he's having a bad game any time soon.

Kagawa can not offer us anything on the left but its easier to shift him wide instead of Rooney.
Our wingers are not on form at the moment so Rooney can't do any worse on the flanks.
Rooney will offer us more on the left wing or even in CM than anyone else in the team at the moment.

--------------- RVP

----Rooney. Kagawa Nani

-------- Cleverley. Carrick

Moyes: "I'm concerned after today..."

What kind of manager is this?

Does he not understand the impact of these kind of statements? On the players and fans in general?

After last weeks comment about expecting what happened against Citeh to re occur, now this.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 5:43pm On Sep 28, 2013
We should just lower our expectation this season unless something changes drastically.

The way things are going, band boys might need a permanent stage on this thread.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 5:20pm On Sep 28, 2013
So far, it's evident Moyes cannot motivate these guys to produce the goods.
The worrying thing I've noticed these days is that we barely even test the opposition's keeper.
We don't press high up the pitch and give all the bottom half teams room to pass and dominate us.

Worrying times - not looking good at the moment.
Let's see how the next few games pan out.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 5:05pm On Sep 28, 2013
coogar: the failure started from his horrible line-up. it didn't make sense at all. the horrible line up caused the horrible subs & the rest is history.
What line up are you talking about?
Are you telling me the players we had out there were not good enough to beat West Brom at Old Forking Trafford?
Abeg abeg abeg.

Then we should sell them all off then, innit?

You guys can rant all you want it wont change nada.
Like I said earlier on in the season, we should not expect any miracle from this team.
Fergie is no longer at the helm so things wont necessarily be the same any longer.
I was not surprised we lost to Citeh at the Etihad and I was also not surprised about the performance - we had it coming.
We've been though this sort of situation before lets see if we would get through it this time with another manager in charge.
It's a 38 game season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 6:53pm On Sep 22, 2013
I don't know why you guys are surprised we lost.
Before the game I feared for the worst, was even ready to take a draw before the game.
I wasn't too surprised by the performance either...I half expectd it.
Our toughest fixture is out of the way...we should look to get better in the next games.

Before the game, we were only hoping we would get a result.
Overall performance was awful, no need mentioning names...the team played like phat phools all round.
It's like no one here has noticed our deficiencies at defending set pieces, lately we have regressed in that department.
No need for long epistles, we deserved what we got today.

RuuDie: Gary, Keano and Phil will do just fine... add Alan Smith and perhaps Quinton Fortune too for good measure.

Giggs is the last of his kind, a rare breed --- those players that are MANCHESTER UNITED through and through.
I don't care how badly he stinks the joint; its our so-called young superstars that should hang their heads in shame because if they were playing any better than they are, would we have cause to bring aging men out of retirement!?
Of course they will do just fine.
Make we kuku add Bobby Charlton sef

RuuDie: Experience pally...experience!

Wetin dat Baba carry for brain...ol' boy, ti be' grin
Experience is overrated...it's not just about experience. That's why there's something called retirement.
Giggs should be used wisely in certain games.

We might as well re-sign Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Beckham, Scholes, etc...after all they all experienced and younger than Giggs
