afrodoc: i said 19,next year. and ur point of him training with the reserves is why i said he should be trainig with the first team
cleverley, welbeck and beckham all went on loan at 19 and not before.personally i think he should train and play more with the first team for now and get used to whats expected of him.he can go on loan if necessary when he turns 19
It shouldn't make any huge difference since he has the talent right?
Why waste an extra year that could be used to get valuable playing experience.
If training with the first team alone aids development then most players do not need to go on loan then
Why cant he break into the first team at 19 if he goes on loan at 18.
He can't be training with the first team on a regular and then playing reserve games, it doesn't work like that.
The earlier the better...and then proper assessment can be made on his future.

Coogar, why are you mentioning Ozil?
We don't need Ozil...he can bug off

afrodoc: moutinho, toulalan, kondogbia, ocampo and james rodriguez ...not a bad midfield for AS Monaco.
possibly better than PSG's midfield especially in terms of creativity
You think those names are better than PSG's in terms of creativity?
Toulalan and Kondogbia are not creative players though neither is Moutinho
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 7:41pm On Aug 30, 2013
afrodoc: i am not saying going on loan is bad.i just look at januzaj's age and talent and i believe he would benefit
more from training with the big boys for now and playing in a handful of matches for this first senior season of his.

when he turns 19 next year then he can go on loan (if necessary) and get more match experience.
Actually it's more beneficial at his age now. It will aid his development.
Is it until he is 20 before he goes on loan? That is the age he should be looking to break into the first team for good.
A handful of games wont do him any good compared to more games on loan.
He trains mostly with the reserves and would probably only feature in the Capital One cup realistically.
If he has the talent, then he should shine at a mid table or lower league side.

dayokanu: A team is made of players and when you have all Defensive midfielders out injured then its a cause for worry

Thiago, Martinez, Schweini, Kirchoff all out injured

Nando? That one na player? I heard he is on auction for the lowest bidder
But Martinez is on the bench
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 7:22pm On Aug 30, 2013
afrodoc: januzaj is just 18 so i believe he still has time to develop.
however i actually think he would benefit more from training alongside players of the class of carrick, rooney, kagawa
for now and playing a handful of matches rather than going on loan and playing with mediocre players.

i am of the opinion that the really talented players should have a full season with the senior squad first and at the end of season u reassess them and consider a loan for the next season.
going on loan too early could affect some players negatively as they mix with average players and they get used to low expectations
There is nothing wrong in going on loan as long as it's the right club where he would get games and experience.
It doesn't have to be a season long loan...loans could be from one month to six (short term)
The key is to play games and gain experience from a different angle.
It usually does more good than harm.

Like I said before I'd be surprised if we sign any player at all.

elampiro: Not when some keep posting biased comments about him. When we are all fair in our comments, then there won't be issues.
We don't care what some think...just kindly get off his left nut abeg.

afrodoc: but if madrid offers more money it would not make sense for levy to accept the bid
of a local rival for less money
Of course but Madrid have messed up and dug a hole for themselves.
I can totally understand not wanting to sell to them.

Madrid can only offer more money if they are paying all the fee up front.
I think they want to pay in instalments...don't think we'll be getting him regardless.
I think Moyes has left it too late.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 11:37pm On Aug 26, 2013
afrodoc: he is definitely leaving spurs but the most likely destination remains madrid.i dont want to get any hopes up,na so we toast thiago(allegedly), fabregas(ashamedly), fellaini(disrespectfully) and modric/ozil(haphazardly) YET nobody don come
He can only go where a bid is accepted.
If they don't accept the Madrid bid he can't go there
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 11:07pm On Aug 26, 2013
afrodoc: hmmmm. i just dey observe.who no like better thing? and bale is surely a better thing.but there are 3 factors
1) doubt if we can outbid madrid
2) dont tink this present spurs will sell yet another star to a fellow EPL team
3) not sure bale would choose united over madrid
There are rumours Levy don't wanna sell to Madrid cos of the way they've handled the whole saga especially with the whole thing about Bale's shirt on their website.

I don't think we need to outbid them but the money will be extra ordinary regardless.
Not sure it will happen but if it does, I'd be excited.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 10:59pm On Aug 26, 2013
afrodoc: i didn't. what was said?
You know there were reports another team have made a bid for Bale this morning.
Moyes was asked about Bale and he just said something in the line of 'this club will always be in for top quality players'.The exact statement he made at his first press conference.

He was asked again specifically and he said 'I can't tell you anymore than that'

He didn't say yes but obviously didn't really say no or dismiss it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 10:54pm On Aug 26, 2013
elampiro: His hand was stretched out. Cleverley's attempt was goal bound.
The ball didnt travel far, it was too close too Lampard, which is what refs use as a determinant factor these days.

I think we have made a cheeky bid for Gareth Bale.
Who saw the post match interview?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 10:38pm On Aug 26, 2013
elampiro: The referee denied us a penalty.
The Lampard handball?
I don't think that was a penalty...its highly debatable.

I think we have to go to Anfield and win now, we cant afford to drop any more points before we play Citeh
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 10:09pm On Aug 26, 2013
WTF has happened to our wing play? that has everly been our strength for many years.
These days its just pure garbage, which is a shame.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 10:04pm On Aug 26, 2013
The game was too tactical. Both teams cancelled each other out.
Both keepers didn't really get worked.
Cleverley was immense in midfield today got to say.
Rooney performed really well...impressing considering his lack of match fitness.

2 points dropped regardless
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2013/2014 by chamotex(op): 5:44pm On Aug 26, 2013
Deiok: These expensive players i have in my team are not giving me my expected point. I hope mourinho use moses and lukaku today, and also expect evans to deliver.
Moses? Boy don't tell me you have Moses in your team.
You sure say you dey watch ball?
They have made the CL semis 3 times in a row you don't have to win the CL to be among the top 3 teams infact based on recent performances a top 3 list would look a lil sumn like this grin

1. Bayern Munich
2. Barcelona
3. Real Madrid

Does it matter when the goals were scored? No be the same league Man U beat Arsenal 8-2 and 6-1? Didn't Man City beat Man U 6-1?

Barca and Madrid would beat any team in Europe on their day
So making the semis 3 times in a row is now a major achievement? grin
United played in the final 3 out of 4 in a row too
Yes it matters when the goals were scored, maybe you should check the start of the argument first baba.

Same way United, Chelsea would beat any team in Europe on their day.

Ma soro ju

dayokanu: And was it the bottom team they are playing

Give them reading QPR or hull city and watch them pummel them. Barcelona and real are two of the top 3 teams in Europe
They cant score 4 against Hull in 30 minutes...yea I said it.
Madrid in top 3 in Europe...with no CL to show for it in how many years now?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 7:29pm On Aug 25, 2013

Abi no be the same city wey everyone dey molest for Europe.

Last cl they didn't win a single game in Europe.

Talking about Barcelona isn't that the same way they beat others in Europe. Messi scored 4 goals in one game vs arsenal
And all the 4 goals came in the first 30 minutes?

afrodoc: he had a good game and worked had throughout but his passing was a a bit careless especially coming from a CM player.
he has to have sustained performances of high quality before one can talk of a big club coming
I'm not talking of him coming to OT, I meant a midfielder with his tenacity and work rate - a box to box midfielder.
I didn't see anything wrong with his overall passing in the game albeit a few.
Medel is the one I wouldn't mind at OT...class!

Exactly, most times they are illogical...just trying to second guess and sell papers.
Putting 1+1 together and so on.
The whole Modric ish was all bollocks too since we never really made a bid.
