elampiro: 3. Someone said Rooney was 74% while Januzaj was 80%. It is normal in soccer. The presence of Rooney and RVP helped Janujaz to explore as those two locked themselves in the box while drawing 3 defenders away from the rest players. I need to see the match again to properly analyze what they were trying to do. Both of them covered very little kilometers and they were supposed to be our best players. Even when Rooney had off days he had never been short of work rate as we had yesterday. But I don't know all details from the dressing room because RVP is carrying a toe injury while Rooney managed to recover from a sheen injury. Perhaps Moyes wanted them in at all cost to get a result. The season is long so let's see how everyone fares. Even Kagawa will return from his behind the scene work out to add his own.
elampiro: @Coogar, I don't think it is right to blame RVP failure to score on Rooney.

RVP will come back scoring as Moyes help the players to work out winning ways.

Janujaz did have to rely on Rooney. RVP also missed from the clearest assist provided by Valencia.

Above all, after two successive seasons of goals spree, RVP will be the most marked player this season. Himself and Rooney should work out something. But their presence yesterday took away three defenders from Sunderaland and Evra had a chance to run in freely.

Januzaj's contract ends at the end of the season and they are yet to tie him up.
This boy can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January o.
If they let this one slip too...

dademola: bros, rooney was our worst playa today. Admit it and move on. If twas kagawa dt played d way rooney did 2day, he wld hav been criticized too
The issue is not even about Rooney...it is about trying something different to see whether it works or not and maybe have a plan B.
Adnan was tried today on the left...at least we have an idea what he is capable of doing. We have already seen what Ashley Young and Welbeck can produce on that side. If we didn't try it today we would not have known.

If its RVP...try Chicharito.

People have mentioned it...go and sit down abeg

elampiro: Rooney helped us kept the ball (possession) at the tail end while saving an obvious direct shot from the box straight at the goal. Who knows what should have happened had Rooney not block it.

elampiro: So Kagawa was the reason we have been playing like Man United over the years? When he was given the hole function what did he do? He was always reversing with the ball, or making short passes right and left.
Name the matches he was given the role and his contributions...with stats preferably.

elampiro: How can a few guys basing their post on sentiments be more intelligent than the official position of the club and fans world wide?

Congratulation Wayne Rooney on your POTMonth award.
.................................................

Manchester United manager David Moyes has addressed the media in his pre-Sunderland news conference this morning. Here is what he has had to say:

On Wayne Rooney’s injury:
“I’ve not seen him yet this morning so I couldn’t give you an update.”

The United’s return to Premier League action:
“The Champions League is separate from the Premier League. We’re concentrated on the league now. We’ve got really good players, they know themselves the standards they’ve set over the years and we’ll work together.”

On the title race:
“There is a long way to go in the Premier League. It’s a long season. You’ll see great changes as the season goes on. We’ll hang in there and get ourselves as close to the top as soon as we can.”

On Sunderland:
“I think I went there last season with Everton when Di Canio had just got the job and I lost in that game. It was probably one of the only games I lost at Everton in the last 11 or 12 games, we didn’t lose that many.

“We go up there now with a new manager again, Kevin Ball, but Kevin has been there for a while. He’s very experienced, he knows the club, he knows the players. He’ll have watched all the games and he’ll know what he has to do in this short term period.

“Whether Kevin Ball gets the job or not, nobody knows. Sunderland look as if they played quite well in the last couple of games. It’s an important game we want to win. We’ll pick a team which can go there and win.”

About his ‘new’ job:
“Anybody who comes into a new job, you learn as you get on and as you go along. I’m doing that as well. I already knew I was coming to a place with really good players but we’ll also have difficult times as well. I think Manchester United is a good club, I'm sure they know they picked the right man for the job and Sir Alex was part of that process as well."

Lmao congrats to Rooney for winning the player of the month.
So you expect someone that played 45 minutes of league action to get player of the month? This is laughable.
Kagawa doesn't have to replace Rooney in the team. Rooney can play other roles in the team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 8:28pm On Oct 03, 2013
dademola: if kagawa scores a hatrick in dos 45 mins, moyes wld be too happy, as he wld hav a selection headache as per who starts d nxt game. Dts d truth. Wayne rooney is one of few players delivering for us ATM. Y shud we den drop him for a kagawa whose last performance wasnt impressive? Is RVP's form too good? Y r der no talks of rvp being dropped outta d squad? Y is it made to seem as if rooney being benched or shifted to d wing wld solve 50% of our problems? Der r other pressing issues to be solved in that team.
You still cant get it even after I broke it down. Smh
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 7:29pm On Oct 03, 2013
dademola: i didnt knw my simple explanation wld still prove hard for u to decipher, bt lemme further simplify and sumarize my points. WAYNE ROONEY ISNT DOING BADLY IN D HOLE. KAGAWA HAS ALWAYS STRUGGLED IN A UNITED SHIRT. KAGAWA HIMSELF KNWS DAT HE HAS TO IMPROVE; AND HE HAS STATED DIS ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS! D 45mins i SAW FRM KAGAWA, ISNT GOOD ENOF TO WARRANT HIM TAKING ROONEY'S PLACE IN D TEAM. We all saw d JANUZAJ boi make an impression of himself even though he has limited opportunities. We all saw mata coming on to change d game against spurs, in just 45 mins, and his performance merited mou to start him in d nxt game.
Apples and oranges...
You've explained nada and refused to answer my questions.
It's funny how you've used the words 'isn't doing badly'.
So if he isn't doing badly, why not try someone else to see if they would do any better or worse? Or is 'not doing badly' good enough for the team at the present time?

Still judging on the same 45 minutes about a player who has been shifted out of position and not been given a fair chance.

Other players have done worst in recent times and they were still given a fair chance.

Valencia has been stinking up the joint for almost 2 years now and he still starts most games and kept his place majority of the time.
Same with Ashley Young until recently. We can make judgements on these players because they have been given a fair crack at the whip.

Ashley Young and Valencia both managed to cop 1 goal between them last season and yet arguably our biggest game of the season against Citeh - they were the first choice wingers.

How else can I even explain this again...
Okay let me come down a bit - If Kagawa plays 45 minutes and scores a hat-trick, we can not make a judgement and term him as the 'solution' just based on that 45 minutes - there has to be a certain consistency about it before we can come to that conclusion.

On the other hand if he played 45 minutes and stank up the whole joint, it is still little to make a judgement based on a mere 45 minutes especially in a case where others can only be termed as 'not doing badly'.

I am sure you would get it now - otherwise... grin grin

dademola: who sed kagawa doesnt need time to adapt?u were d one comparing his arrival to dt of evra and vidic, and i had to remind u of d differences in circumstances and situations. kagawa has struggled, and needs to improve, and fortunately, d player is also aware of this fact. D truth is dt, d 45mins we saw, wasnt encouraging. He isnt a new signing, remember? Yeah, he needs playing time, bt believe me, his performance in dos 45mins isnt good enof to say he shud dislodge rooney frm d hole. Dats just d truth.
That is what it seems you are implying since you came up the 'hype' analogy.
This is ridiculous to say the least...a very myopic way of looking at the situation.
Tell me which player in the team doesn't need to improve or tell me how many of our squad players are not 'struggling' at the moment.
So let's say the 45 minutes wasn't encouraging...so that's it for him then? We should sell him off right?
You are contradicting yourself. In your own words "He needs playing time", now tell me is 45 minutes of league action what you call playing time?

No one is saying Kagawa is definitely the solution - he should be given the chance in the hole to prove himself, whether it will work or not, we don't know unless we try it.
Rooney has been given a fair whip there - let's try something else.

If Rio isn't working at CB - lets try Evans/Smalling
If Valencia isn't working on the right - let's try Nani/Zaha/Januzaj
If Fellaini isn't working at CM - let's try Cleverley/Ando
If RVP isn't performing up top - let's try Chicharito/Rooney etc.

I don't know what other language I can type this for you to comprehend.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 4:57pm On Oct 03, 2013
dademola: lol. last time i checked, vidic n evra didnt come to united with any "hype" on dia heads, so ts only natural for dia acclamatisation periods to be longer! kagawa has to improve, if he wants to be successful in man utd!
That's not the point. You are claiming that he has 'struggled'...we are not talking about hype here. Stay on point.
So because Kagawa came with this supposed 'hype', he doesn't need to acclimatise? This is laughable at best. grin
Hehe state where anyone said he doesn't need to improve. Who doesn't need to improve in our squad?
Playing 45 minutes in 6 league games, is that how he is going to improve?...going by your analogy - abi na on top bench he go improve?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 4:27pm On Oct 03, 2013
dademola: bros, kagawa has been struggling ever since he came to man utd! he needs to improve and show d manager enof reasons y he shud merit a place in d team
Struggled? That is a bit far-fetched.
If this was how all United players were treated then we would have sold Vidic and Evra not long after they arrived at Old Trafford as well.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 4:17pm On Oct 03, 2013
dademola: The same common sense dt shud dictate that; it isnt outta place to hav serious reservations about a playa who has struggled wen given opportunities, and who himself admits to d fact that he has to up his game!
So 45 minutes of league action is the 'opportunity'?

dademola: d same kagawa dt keeps on admitting to d fact that he has to improve on his performances? undecided
What does improving performance have to do with his ability.
Lukaku said a few days ago, he still needs to improve - does that mean he lacks ability?
All player strive to improve - a player being out of form doesn't mean his ability has diminished.

Let him get a good run and then you can judge him...how is he supposed to show his worth if he has only played 45 league minutes.
This thing is common sense now.

Pataki: It is not by force that you must respond OK? What has your coach been doing for the past eleven years? Speaking of a dunce who expects a failure of a coach to turn magical once he is under the United crest.

The same Everton your Moyes left has is currently the only Premiership side yet to be beaten this season. How many teams thus far has disgraced your team, and yet you want to drag me into your deluded state of mind that all is well with your team in comparison to Arsenal? So what has changed? Transporting failure from one club to another - enough said! Is this your version of standard?

Yep! He played for a draw. I would have loved to see us attempt to attack a bit more but I wasn't expecting us to win anyway.
After the goal, I saw him running to Phil Neville for advice and that made me feel sick in a way...he looks clueless.

Anyways a draw wasn't a bad result.
We played better in the first half and kept the ball really well apart from Fellaini.
