I remember Modric's last season at Spurs...he decimated every top team in the midfield.
Even with a 2 man CM, he dominated teams with 3 CMs.
Quality!

Ancelotti is a big fan of Modric...he tried to sign him at Chelsea, so I'm not sure if this will happen also.

Forget about this betting stuff..these niggaz are not serious. Its all too late now I think.

In other news, I think we can still bet on a vs basis.
Call out an opponent in a GW and if both managers agree they can bet on who scores the highest point for that week.
Easy and comfortable for everyone... you dont have to bet everyweek, you choose which week you bet and if the opponent agrees...and you can bet against multiple opponents if you wish. Quick money to win and you don't have to wait till end of the season.

So for example, Lalaboi - I challenge you for a bet on GW1...how much are you willing to bet? cheesy

elampiro: Okay.

But I don't understand why mod should ban me severally in the heat of argument saying ''post after few hours''. It is confusing, you see Coogar repeating same charts over and over, insulting, no action or even verbal warning.
I don't even think I have ever banned anyone on this forum...I'm probably the most lenient mod on this forum.
Except its a troll, in which case I just hide the post...I let everyone argue and fight it out. If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.
It was probably the spambot that banned you.

elampiro: My own worry too is how Rooney is so much hated here. In other United forums, I can go months without mentioning Rooney.

Last season I had pictures of RVP displayed on my facebook and blackberry wall/DP as much as Rooney. The next was Chicharito. I only displayed Kagawa once all season because he didn't impress me.

But seeing the hate of Rooney here makes me begin to see things in a different light. Everywhere else they say Rooney is great despite the current situation. Even when RVP is seen as a new bride, Rooney is given his respect.

Contrary to what you people think, I never really had a player I loved more than others as such. I only knew Rooney was so great for the team. May be this thread now has made me to have favourite players in the team.

Finally, everyone here is saying they are tired of elampiro, for the fact that the argument has been between elampiro and Coogar goes to show the cabal that exist here. I know all along that even the moderator has been taking side with Coogar.

I want to stay off for a while. You guys can carry go. See you when the season starts.
Can you bring out quotes where anyone here said they 'hate' Rooney?
Mate, you need a tougher skin than this...incase you don't know, this is the Sports section, probably one of the most volatile sections on Nairaland.
You already talking of moving to another forum because of what?
So what will happen when band boys from other clubs set up on this thread after a defeat, you'll run away like a chicken?
On this section, you give and take...it's survival of the fittest.
Moderator taking sides? Bruv this is not high school mehn...it's war out here.
On this section there are people who don't agree on issues most times e.g. Elampiro vs coogar, Ruudie vs chamotex, starboard vs montelik etc. it doesn't mean we hate each other.
It's not personal...we take jibes at each other...don't take everything too serious.

elampiro: Everton: Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines are not for sale
Mike Prindiville Aug 8, 2013, 2:58 PM EDT

The Guardian is reporting that Everton will reject any formal bid from Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.

The position has been made in response to reports that United’s manager, David Moyes, is weighing up a joint offer in the range $46.7 million (£30m) for the pair.

Moyes already had a $18.7 million (£12m) bid for Baines turned down by the Toffees this past June but appears intent on pushing forward with acquiring the 28 year old to compete with Patrice Evra for starting spot at left-back. Moyes has yet to launch a bid for Fellaini, whose $35.8 million (£23m) release clause expired on July 31st.

Question marks surround both targets.

As to Baines, the England international would appear to be surplus goods in the midst of Evra, not to mention his 24 year old protégé, Alexander Büttner.

As to Fellaini, some feel the hulking Belgian would not satisfy United’s need for a creative, playmaking midfielder to compliment Michael Carrick. There is no doubt that Fellaini can drive a team to victory but his game is quite different from United’s previous targets, Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas.

Being a club with thin financial reserves, Everton looks a plump target for any minted teams looking to buy players. But the Toffees fighting stance against selling either of their top assets suggests that sometimes things aren’t how they appear.

One interpretation of Everton’s stance is that the club is preparing themselves to embark on yet another long-shot run at qualifying for Europe. It’s a position that has their fans rubbing their bellies.

A somewhat less ambitious explanation is that the Toffees are appalled by Moyes’ gall at having submitted a $18.7 million (£12m) bid for Baines after the Scot himself rejected United’s $28 million (£18m) approach for the player just last summer.

At the very least, Everton’s stand makes one thing clear – it’s going to cost a pretty penny if Moyes is to pry Fellaini and/or Baines away from Goodison Park.

No mind Pharoh...he wants 1000 ninjas in one league.

@pharoh I think doing that will make the league lose an edge.
Competitiveness will wane drastically.
Half of these new managers asking for codes will not bother or lose focus after some months.
When we see the ones that are serious and participates from start to finish this year then they might be considered a for the premier league next year.
Please let Nairaland FPL not lose its credibility...it's bigger than you think outside NL cool

Damn!, so many requests...who put this on the front page?

The Nairaland Premier League is almost full...only a couple of slots left. We can not have over a hundred teams in the league.
So for the new guys who are interested, I will create another main league 'Nairaland Championship' and distribute codes.
Sending codes individually takes time so you guys should be patient, you will get the codes.

Let us sort the outstanding issues, decide on proper format to implement and start making the payment to confirm registration.
