Overall, disappointing performance.
We lack that bite in the attacking third.

Our play regressed even further playing against 10 men.
Just glad we got the points.

Elampiro to play his favoured 'Rooney Role' cheesy grin
Elampiro doesn't deserve to be in the starting line up yet...he should be a super sub a la Chicha and Ole.
He can come in for coogar when he gets tired.

That no 10 role is mine...afrodoc should replace elampiro.

SailorXY: whoever isnt happy with the extra cash paid on the fellaini deal is understandable, but saying he doesnt improve our midfield is just blowing hot air from azz. is he not better than cleverley? so what are we shedding tears for? his late runs into the box, added attcking and defensive ariel assurance, ability to keep the ball while shielding opponents is a plus to ball retention and reduced pressure on the team generally, something no midfielder we have now *maybe anderson* can do. we have players who can dribble and create chances in januzaj, lingard, van persie, kagawa, wayne, nani, zaha, evra, rafael. moyes should cup his b.a.l.l.s and play them regularly... not out swinging young or grandpa!
contrao is also here, that should keep competition healthy both at left back and defensive midfield.
E be like you just dey wake up.

elampiro: I don't think FIFA will act like robots not to let United tiding up the Fabio Coentrao’s deal. To me it will be ridiculous. Except if there are things not made known. What is this nonsense about fax and paper work? I beg they should pass that one via the back door.
The main issue is with Madrid. They didnt tue up the deal...they didnt get their replacement for Coentrao

RuuDie: Ok. I am not happy about the money spent...I'd rather we kept it and used to service debts, but anyhow, e don be!

On another note, I am over the moon in delight...we still have our squad full of "mediocres" --- no "special" players, no "van damme" or "superman"!
Can't wait for these bunch of "mediocres" to rub sh*y*te in the faces of all the doubters and naysayers!! Yes, I BELIEVE!!!
Oh so you know we have 'mediocre' players...but you come here to berate the likes of Welbeck and co
So what do you expect from 'mediocre' players?
Is this not hypocrisy?

If Moyes truly said that then we are in big trouble.
We don't really need two defenders on the bench...I'm sure Kagawa could have taken Buttner's place at least.
My guess is that Moyes doesn't fancy him at all...which is a shame.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 4:16pm On Sep 01, 2013
elampiro: Giggs should retire. Anderson should have played in his place. Then we should have had the triangle midfield of Cleverly, Carrick and Anderson. At least there should have been someone to be given the ball who could have held it a little for further strategy. Nani added a little bit of that despite being match rusty. Chicharito also added some options even though he too gave away some possessions.
Giggs is a legend and he should do the honourable thing and hang up his boots.
He has the odd few game changing moments now but that's just about it.
Even he should know it's time to let go for the benefit of the team.

We need to refocus on our wing play and forget this passing around the box ish we are trying.
We don't have the players to do that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 3:59pm On Sep 01, 2013
elampiro: I am not even looking at result. There was no stability.

I have never watched Man United played this way. We couldn't retain the ball for more than 30 seconds.
Knee jerk reaction!
We played better than Liverpool overall so it's not the worst of performances.
It was crap most times but just wasn't good enough.
If you have not seen us play worse than this then maybe you are not a United fan as I thought.

I just hate this whole if this one had played or that one had played we would have won bollocks cos that's just childish.
Anfield has been a tough ground for us and most times the teams that played better don't usually win.
Giggs should not have started but that's gone now - let's move on as we usually do.
We are United - we always bounce back.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 3:51pm On Sep 01, 2013
elampiro: When last did we play so poorly? Forget about the result.

Can't you see the missing link was non availability on someone who could hold on to the ball in the attacking midfield?

You also have to consider the build up comments to matches. Someone here said if Welbeck plays behind RVP, United would beat Liverpool. Let's be mindful of our comments and not just talk for sentiments sake.
So all the games that Rooney played at Anfield previously, we didn't lose.
Oh I forgot he is a god. If he doesn't play - we can't win.
This is pathetic coming from you
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 3:48pm On Sep 01, 2013
coogar: we played better than liverpool.....
it's just that there were many passengers in this game today. cleverley & carrick were rubbish, rio/vidic were too pedestrian in taking the ball out of our half....

we should be fine, let's get the difficult games out of the way and we should be coasting from next week after the city game. the fixtures haven't been kind to us at all but this is united - we don't need to start well to win the league!
We played better but we didn't create enough chances.
Mignolet only made 2 saves that I could remember.
Individual errors left right centre. Our wing play is non existent and that is very worrying.

Anyways no need to press the panic button, it was always going to be a tough game.
Onto the Crystal Palace match.

elampiro: Is this the small 'shidren' futbol some guys have been calling for? Welbeck played behind RVP and what has happend now? I can guess RVP did touch d ball up to 25 times. Carrick, Cleverly had no one to link up with who will help retain the ball. Infact I just watched a school team. If we play the top 4 like this, we are finished.
Can you get your mouth off Rooney's testicles already?
Is he paying your school fees?
Rooney is the reason we lost abi? How childish?
Don't come here and be yarning rubbish.
I dey vex right now abeg.

afrodoc: ok.well i hope whatever decision is made concerning him is d best long term for both player and club.
however i suspect they wont send him on loan just yet.like u said a loan deal might not be a bad idea if its d right circumstances
I don't think they will send him on loan too but a short term one month loan won't affect anything just to open his eyes and get the sense of playing at a decent level.

Championship teams can still loan players after the deadline, 4 weeks of regular football with decent footballers can help him see how it feels and make him hungrier.

If it was up to me, he'll get games but I don't think that will happen much this year unless we get some injuries.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 8:20pm On Aug 30, 2013
afrodoc: who said if he trains regularly with the senior team he would be restricted to reserve games.this boy is good enough and can play a part in double figure games as we speak.and there is even no guarantee he will feature in matches if sent on loan especially if the manager of that team is under pressure and not ready to trust such a young player.
a year with the senior team now is not a year wasted in the long term.if he goes on loan again and has to make adjustments again just 2 years after moving to england it might stunt his growth.i believe wt d guy needs NOW is continuity and limited playing time with d senior team
He isn't playing with the senior team, he's playing with the reserves. Most of his training is with Warren Joyce and Nicky Butt
How do you expect him to get games now when everyone is fit? Kagawa has yet to feature, Zaha, Nani, Chicharito are yet to come in. Young only just played a handful of minutes in the last game.
I'm a big fan of his and this is not about what I want, it's about what is going to happen realistically.

About going on loan, that's why I said as long as it's the right team, it will do him more good than harm.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chamotex(m): 8:04pm On Aug 30, 2013
afrodoc: PSG has been suffering from lack of creativity from midfield for a couple of years now.their game lacks fluidity and
they usually have to depend on individual brilliance from zlatan or one of their other forwards to bail them out
That is due to formation...playing mostly with 2 holding midfielders.
Creativity doesn't have to come from CM's alone.
They rely on wing/forwards but I get your point.
