It's all about the quality of football. England, Spain, Italy and Germany all play football of higher standard and that is why most Nigerians support teams from these countries. The whole point of watching a football match is for you to be entertained. I'm not going to waste my time to watch a match that lacks good quality. The standard of the Nigerian league at the moment is still below average.
It's not our fault. |

coogar: excellent point! it's amusing when arsenal fans remember 'strength in depth' after the title has been lost. at the start of the campaign, this fact seems to be ignored the moment those kids batter a league one side who has priorities elsewhere. what we hear then is "sexy football", "the kids are now men", "wenger's project has come to fruition", etc. Even before the end of the season . . . MUMUface had already been talking about Miyaichi on loan at Feyenoord like he's coming to set the premiership alight. Well, we are waiting. |

debosky: One more comment - Arsenal's goals scored is only 5 behind Utd, and even LESS than Chelski that is above us in the table. The inevitable conclusion from that is that the defensive performance was what killed us. We DO NOT need to be more offensive - if we held on to leads against Sunderland, Newcastle, Spurs and Liverpool, we'd be winning the title. The issue is overwhelmingly defensive. U wan thief am? That would add up to 8 points . . . we are leading you with 10. |

montelik:
.
But seriously I would sooner play O'shea in d position that Carrick presently hides in and give Carrick extra midfield responsibilities. If Fletcher doesn't make it I won't consider playing Scholes. He would get sent off in d first 20 mins, cos we are going to have to press Barca to get d ball and prevent them carving us open, and if we exempt him from tackling duties we get killed. Giggs may have mesmerised against Chelsea & Schalke but d truth is that he ain't a natural CM. You see it in his movement, covering & recovery rate (today and on other occasions this season). So I wouldn't play him either, which leaves Gibson. Hell no. O'Shea has all d xtics of a midfield anchor, its not that difficult a position to play and he has played there with good effect in d past and this season.
As for d front three. If we want to score in open play Hernandez has to start. Rooney of this season is no good as a target man so he plays behind d lead man. We cant afford to play O'Shea against Barca esp in midfield. We can get away with it but not against Barca cos it will be difficult to get the ball back when he (O'Shea) loses possession. |
Well, I guess we'll see what Baba decides for the final. Fletcher has no chance considering he didnt play today or even on the bench. No way he'll get the fitness and intensity required to play the final. Anderson's form is still too erratic. I'm pretty delighted about the league win alone. Im around alot of Arsenal fans and liverpool fans and you should have heard some predict we wouldnt be in the top 4 at the start of the season. .
We will definitely play 3 in midfield Carrick is a sure starter . . . I think Giggs will play there too. I don't think Fletcher will make it. |
Worried about Nani's performance lately, since Valencia has been back, Nani has been poor.
Need to step it up. No point discussing the ref's performance, he was poor for both sides
Park looked knackered so Im very surprised SAF left him on despite how poor Carrick has been.
I think the formation was what counted against us. I can understand Fergie not wanting to change a winning formation that has been instrumental to our late season form . . . But you can not play with 2 CM's against Arsenal at the Emirates . . . it's like giving away the midfield. The reason we've done well in the past is mainly because we pack the midfield with and make sure we get them on the break. I felt like we were always exposed to pressure during the game.
Can't wait for the Chelsea game now . . . If we cant get a result at OT when we really need to . . . maybe we dont deserve to win the league then. |

We shouldn't reach too much into that performance. It was fantastic . . . . but let's not get carried away, Schalke were absolutely poor. Prolly the worst I've seen in a CL Semi. Let's just finish it off at OT. presido1: Man United is dead without CR7. They are finished. They are excreta. They are going to wembley. What else do you pipo want to hear?
AM looking for ticket to wembley pls. I've just decided I'll go to Wembley if we get there. We could go together if you want. Will try and get some tickets. |

Ibime: Is Welbeck better than Sturridge?
Depends on the criteria.
If you are talking technique and movement, then Sturridge is miles ahead.
If you are talking hold-up play and physical intimidation, Wellbeck is better.
In a 4-4-2, Sturridge will shine any day of the week but Welbeck will fit better as a loan forward.
And don't give me that crap about Welbeck being called up to England. The niggard was flow in overnight from the U-21s due to injury to a senior player, and his call-up was political, not merited, and was aiming at nailing his colours to the England mast rather than Ghana. Welbeck as a lone striker? You've probably been watching different games. Welbeck's game has totally changed and has become a different type of player entirely. He now roams around and plays sort of like a free role behind Gyan, holding up play and bringing other players into the game. He also operates on the wings and drifts into the hole to get more freedom. |

Just give me the points.
And in terms of your players scoring goals in the championship . . . we all know the premiership is a different ball game entirely.
