That will be the worst mistake we will make as a Nation.
I totally agree.

MAMAJAMA:
YAR ADUA is on his way to self destruct if he is counseling with people like IBB and ABDUSALAM already on vital issues. He should be his own man and not take any advice from this two criminals. What can he gain from talking to this old politicians that should be cooling their heels in ALAGBON?
Honestly I don't know what he's doing with those two especially IBB(the biggest crook in Nigeria's history) that man is no believer in true democracy just like OBJ. I hope Yar'Adua do not allow himself to be misled.
PoliticsRe: Obj's Office Leaving Certificate by champredd(m): 3:38pm On Jun 02, 2007

PoliticsRe: Political defintions in OBJ years by champredd(op): 2:50pm On Jun 02, 2007
OBJ have created a lot of terms in the Nigerian political dictionary in my own opinion.
Another one is Sanjomandering which I see simply as the redistribution of census figures to favour the states where his party is popular.
PoliticsRe: Foreign Help To Solve Niger Delta Crisis by champredd(m): 2:44pm On Jun 02, 2007
Nigeria should be able to solve its own problems. The western capitalists (who happens to be controlling their governments) did not want the crisis to stop so that prices will continue to increase, that is how they make their money and they don't give a damn about the Niger-Delta people (even if a genocide happens there.)
PoliticsRe: Foreign Help To Solve Niger Delta Crisis by champredd(m): 4:21pm On Jun 01, 2007
I ve read the article earlier today, I wondered is that another OBJ idea or what. We need to tackles our own problem holistically not bring in some foreign expert who going to get paid to lay new foundations for more problem in the Delta area.
HealthShould Hiv Tests Be Compulsory? by champredd(op): 4:12pm On Jun 01, 2007
"Should HIV tests be compulsory?
This week the UN said countries with HIV epidemics should carry out HIV tests on everyone attending health centres unless they 'opt out'.

The World Health Organization said 200m people could benefit from the policy.

Currently 80% of people infected with HIV/Aids in areas such as sub-Saharan Africa do not know they have it.

Until now, testing has only been done if a person requests it. The new guidelines stress a test should not be carried out against a person's wishes or without their knowledge.

Is this a good idea for Africa? Do you think HIV tests should be compulsory? Should a person be able to refuse a test if they wish? Let us know your views and experiences in your own country?"

The BBC is discussing it on have your say. What do you at Nairaland think? Should it be compulsory?

PoliticsRe: Orji Uzor Kalu Flees Nigeria by champredd(m): 3:33pm On Jun 01, 2007
It is better to follow local reports in Nigeria than follow international reports like BBC and CNN. During the plane crash that happens on the same day that Stella OBJ passed on the CNN was reporting that OBJ himself was coordinating the rescue operation. Well it was discovered later that it was no possible considering that the plane crash site was only found hours later.
PoliticsPolitical defintions in OBJ years by champredd(op): 3:23pm On Jun 01, 2007
Segelection (segvoting,seg-poll) is simply a do-or-die election (according to Uncle Sege himself) in which a winner must EMERGE regardless of whether voting or proper voting do takes place. Artificial votes are usually awarded to the candidate preferred by the electoral body (controlled by the incumbent).
Let us all work with the product of segelection in his bid to make sure it does not happen again.

Compare this against gerrymander on answers.com( http://www.answers.com/topic/gerrymander ) and wikipedia( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrymandered) when it happens in the US they make sure they fight against it. Who say electoral fraud is only in Nigeria? Let us all fight against the types of electoral frauds rampant in Nigeria, every democracy is unique.

Do you have another name for segelection, or another definition? You can share it with  Nairalanders.
PoliticsRe: President Yar'adua Is Dull? by champredd(m): 2:27pm On Jun 01, 2007
The man no dull at all. I dey look his face on day of swearing-in he no show any expression on his face- that does no show that he is dull.
PoliticsYar'adua Must Be Strictly Isolationist by champredd(op): 1:32pm On Jun 01, 2007
He must work harder on domestic policies than foreign policies, Obasanjo had done much of that, so Yar'Adua must try hard to create more policies that will impact positively on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

He should forget Pan-Africanism and create Pan-Nigerianism and probably Pan-Ecowaism because that is more closer to Nigeria's national interest.
PoliticsRe: The List Of Arrested Corrupt Governors (after May 29th) by champredd(m): 12:19pm On Jun 01, 2007
Somebody is talking about going forward alone. That is the mentality that is damaging the prospects of the African continent. We continue to run but forget that we can't hide. If you leave your country with the single aim of progressing alone and never come back then you are a FAILURE of the highest order. That is not how great nations are built (i.e by leaving it in the hand of some ignorant few. So we must work together either at home or away from home.
SportsRe: Nigeria (1) Vs Kenya (0): Preparation For Uganda by champredd(m): 12:43pm On May 29, 2007
I just hope that they will win because it will be a big disgrace if they draw or lose after all the yapping (by the eagles) after their slim win at Abeokuta.
PoliticsRe: Babaiyabo Last Hour At Aso Rock by champredd(m): 1:44pm On May 28, 2007

PoliticsRe: What The New President Must Do Urgently (2) by champredd(op): 1:29pm On May 28, 2007
U know dat is not possible when we are talking bout naija, most of us are crooks.
Those who were accused of rigging, PDP, AC, PPA (since any party that win in any part of the country must have been involved in malpractices) who did they use to rig the elections.

If you don't know, they are people leaving within the country, member of families within Nigeria, and now it is the same people from the same families living in the cities who are now complaining.

For me Nigerians in general need a lot of re-orientation and enlightenment (not just schooling to the highest level) before the next general elections otherwise it will be worse than the recent ones.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Appointed Igbos To Top Positions Than Any Other Administration. by champredd(m): 1:10pm On May 28, 2007
Tribalism, that is what the Oligarchs ruling our country since independence have been using to exploit their own people. While they continue instigating their kinsmen against fellow Nigerians, they are also busy stealing our resources.
So let us (the masses) not continue to allow ourselves to be used.
PoliticsRe: Imagine Fuel At N75 Per Litre by champredd(m): 12:51pm On May 28, 2007
OBJ is just clearing the road for the incoming president, either to make sure he doesn't have to increase the price after he is inaugurated or to give him a chance to endear himself to Nigerians by reverting to the old price.

OBJ na poker playa jare.
PoliticsWhat The New President Must Do Urgently (2) by champredd(op): 1:19pm On May 26, 2007
He must suspend Oil exploration and drilling in the Niger Delta and order the Oil companies to clean-up the environment, because the environment is badly polluted by spillages and gas flaring. In Alaska BP recently suspended all operations due to a pipeline leak. The same should be done in Niger Delta. If it can not be done at once it can be done in phases.

And it would also provide some jobs for the local people because they must be involved and it must be mandated by the government.
PoliticsRe: Eu Parliament Wants Aid To Nigeria Stopped Until Fresh Polls by champredd(m): 5:30pm On May 25, 2007
Who wants EU aid or AIDS (whichever is applicable). Because it doesn't reflect on the general wellbeing of Nigerians. What we need is to fight corruption in all aspect of our life, our resources are enough to cater for us. Is it not this month that Naija launch a communication satellite into space in addition to the previous wheather satellite, the EU did not pay for that it is Naija money. Also, all the billions stolen by ours corrupt leaders and stored away in Europe should be be returned to us, that would be the best aid they can give us right now.

Plus check my earlier post [Nigerian Leaders Should Stop Seeking Legitimacy From Abroad]. It is the Nigerian people who will decide not some people from faraway Europe, the time is past when their ambassadors will can our politicians aside and teach them what to do.

PoliticsRe: Let's Score Obj Administaration by champredd(m): 5:14pm On May 25, 2007
Considering all the factors on ground b4 his rule and the prevailing circumstances:

Foreign Relations 95% minus 50% for bad publicity due to political gangsterism during elections: Total 40%

Domestic Relations (with Nigerians): - 10%

Home Affairs 20% minus Niger Delta crisis (100%) - 80%

well how can I score OBJ overall = 5% achievement rate (due to build and destroy policy)

PoliticsDo We Need A Female President. by champredd(op): 4:56pm On May 22, 2007
The number of women who have contributed positively to the growth and development of Nigeria during the two terms of OBJ is more than the number of men in general terms and by all standards.

Dora Akunyili, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nenadi Yusuf, Oby Ezekwsili etc have contibuted immensely to the development of Nigeria in there own way which prompted me to ask this question; Do we need a woman president, because they seem to be less corrupt and more progressive than their male counterparts

Nuhu Ribadu the man who could have potentially top the list of best performers in the OBJ government is highly tainted by allegations of selective justice.

So what do you people think? Do we nee a female president?
PoliticsRe: What The New President Must Do Urgently by champredd(op): 1:16pm On May 17, 2007
They may have the money but they continue to accuse the federal government whenever anything goes wrong, once more power is delegated to them to oversee how their states resources in being exploited there would be less violence (like in the oil-producing states) the militants will only have to attack their governors since they would be the ones negotiating directly with the oil companies on how the exploration and production will improve the lives of the state indigenes.

CrimeThe World's Biggest Scam Is Still Ongoing, But Is Slowing Down by champredd(op): 12:28pm On May 17, 2007
Well, it was pulled off by America and Europe through the slave trade and it continues to colonisation and occupation, then false political independence(minus economic independence). But now that China (plus India and Russia) is rising the west is getting jittery and they started making noise about global warming and environmental pollution (as if waste products are not part of production). It is always the same thing. Scam na scam jare he no get other name.

But me I no support 419 oooooooooooo.
PoliticsRe: People's Destruction Party: Pdp by champredd(m): 11:34am On May 17, 2007
Since the Ngige abduction debacle, Anambra state has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. I think the people of the state should take their own destiny in to their hands and stop complaining about those meddling their local politics. It is amazing that something has not been done till now considering that their are lots and lots of educated elites from that state.
PoliticsRe: Akunyili Or Ribadu: Who Performed Better? by champredd(m): 9:04pm On May 16, 2007
The reason why Akunyili has not been attacked verbally is that her job is less political than Ribadu and always remember that she had been shot once and her survival is a miracle. So she has done a real good job (she has taken bullet(s) for the nation).
PoliticsNigerian Leaders Should Stop Seeking Legitimacy From Abroad. by champredd(op): 8:55pm On May 16, 2007
Nigerian Leaders since those in the first republic were overthrown are all mostly illegitimate except the Shagari and Obasanjo presidency. This have forced them to seek the support of foreign governments mostly from the west and they support them indeed by encouraging their corrupt activities and the oppression of their own people.

Since the recent elections those f**#ing western governments and their secret service controlled organisations (HRW, etc) have been condemning the elections despite the fact that the so called opposition also participated in the rigging of the election.

What they are trying to do now is to force the next president after OBJ to start seeking their blessing and abandon the Nigerian people.

In other words the president-elect should try and seek his legitimacy from the people of Nigeria not from some foreigners who don't give a damn about us.
