If there are 2 Muslims having an issue in enugu and they decide to settle according to sharia principles, how does that affect their neighbours? Does it mean enugu has been islamised? The igbo communities in the North, do they not still arrange their affairs in line with their culture, from marriage to sharing property when a person dies? Don't the yorubas in the North still follow their traditions in such matters? We have our own traditions but we do not call them Christian because they existed before Christianity arrived. The Muslims chose to embrace Islamic law within the constraints of the constitution. Why should that trouble me?

I have no problem with any person that tries to be a good educated Christian or Muslim. Surprised? I do not see how that translates into forcible conversion or all the things you claim to fear. Islamization means the constitution is islamic. It means xtians and people of other faiths can never stand for elective positions in the country. It means only mosques will be built in campuses as official religious structure and no church will be allowed on government owned institutions.

Do you know a country called Australia? Australia is a xtianized nation. Muslims are treated as mere tenants there. This is exactly what xtians in Nigeria will experience if they ever vote for an islamizer (grandson of uthman dan fodio).

And for your information, kaduna is not islamized. Kaduna is still part of yet-to-be-islamized Nigeria, which is a secular nation.

I have seen videos of Muslims proudly declaring that some streets of LONDON are under sharia law. They go around harassing people and calling themselves something along the lines of Muslim neigbourhood watch.

Islam is the problem. You cited the igbo case of inheritance. What u have to know is that that was driven by poverty and greed. What u forgot to mention is that the entire southern Nigeria had their terrible traditional practises which have almost entirely died out because of the missionaries and Christianity. However practises such as child marriage, stonings, amputations and even slavery is encouraged in Islam.
And as long as there is Islam, even if sharia is not practised, there will be cases like this.

The fine point I was trying to make is that a state of the federation of Nigeria cannot and should not be allowed to declare itself to have a religion. Whatever the religion. People were already using sharia if they wanted so why must the state make one religion non-negotiable? We all have practices in our cultures that would embarrass us similarly, and as for child sex issues, it is not just a northern problem. Many of these practices would reduce if poverty was decreasing, but instead it is increasing. When the first boko haram people were burning their certificates because of joblessness some of us were laughing. Now years later we still refuse to accept that poverty and idleness are the devil's best tools for recruitment.

And what leadership has Jonathan shown to his party members in the NASS? Do we have his agenda, his priorities for legislation? Where is evidence of his own original thought? PIB is not his idea, the amnesty deal was not his idea... What has David Mark achieved in 8yrs? Is the president a man who demands efficiency, intelligence, honesty and integrity from the people he recommends for high office? Does it show? What is the transformation agenda but an empty slogan bouncing off empty stomachs of the public. Some of you Buhari brigade members seem to be allergic to politeness. The presidency has many departments. Jonathan did not start it. Even when you god, Buhari, was in Dodan Barracks, there were many departments under his office. he had a 2iC (who had aides), he also had his own aides and he had departments that he wanted to oversee directly for optimal performance. The overall budget of all those units and departments is the budget of the presidency.

Is it huge? Yes it is and something should be don about it. If you looked at the budgets of 2013, 2014 and 2015, you will notice that the money allocated to the presidency is reducing. We will want it to reduce more. That is how it should be. If you argue this way, it is what we call constructive criticism. But if you come and make claims like the cost of the president's daughters' wedding blablabla which you do not know anything about and who even funded it, then, that is irresponsibility.

Learn to argue like a mature person. it's a virtue, not a vice.

The pdp has a majority in the house and Senate. If they stand together there is nothing the opposition can do to block any bills or motions they propose. Tambuwal remains speaker, because he has enough friends in the pdp willing to vote for him, and the President is wary of being embarrassed if a vote to oust Tambuwal fails. How else do you think the NASS works. The majority party wins 99% of the time, so don't go blame shifting.

You're missing the point. Most of the North accepts sharia as their traditional law and custom. The constitution recognises everyone's traditional law but has started rejecting outdated and discriminatory practices, as in the igbo case. Obasanjo had an opportunity to challenge zamfara state when it declared sharia the religion of the state. I do not believe any state has that authority. But he did nothing, because pdp is all about election calculations, and whatever happens thereafter is not their business.
