LogicPower:
1. I wonder why GEJ supporters think that Nigerians are SO DUMB that we would ALL ignore the CRITICAL ISSUES at stake in the forth-coming election and SIMPLISTICALLY vote along the fuzzy and hazy 'NORTH-SOUTH' divide.

2. Besides, is it NOW that it suits their AGENDA that we are NO LONGER divided into SE, SS, SW, NE NW, NC?

3. Have the CLANNISH and DIVISIVE elements among the GEJ supporters forgotten how they have been viciously and maliciously SINGLING OUT certain sub-groups of their 'southern brothers' for incessant insults and all sorts of cruel taunting?

4. Has the 'southern' president EVER tried to reign in the crudest and most clannish among his kinsmen, such as Clark and Asari Dokubo, when they were publicly and viciously insulting prominent and well-intentioned Nigerians who dare criticize his government, including 'fellow southerners'?

5. How come the SW people are NOW your 'SOUTHERN' brothers, and the people of the MIDDLE BELT are now just lumped as 'NORTHERNERS'?

6. What happened to the 'SS/SE/MIDDLE BELT alliance' that some of you guys have been taunting the rest of Nigerians with?

7. Now that the reality of the VOTING POWER of each SUB-REGION has finally dawned on you, and the imminent electoral defeat of your clueless man is staring you in the face, you have suddenly jettisoned the MIDDLE BELT as your partner in alliance, and they are are now just 'northerners'.

8. I really pity GEJ supporters because this kind of PATHETIC attempt at APPEALING to 'southern' SENTIMENTS to get votes for the Clueless-In-Chief would NOT have been NECESSARY if he had performed up to the EXPECTATIONS of ALL Nigerians in his first term!
Thanks for your response. The article contains many popular prejudices that we have as a nation but it is still essentially wrong and the ops intentions, misguided.

GMB let's the bigots rant and rave, it is all in vain. We can see their arguments crumble into the tissues of lies that they are. Issue based campaign is what the pdp demanded, and here we are brushing off their jingoistic lies and other nonsense. See how they tremble and take leave of logic and common sense! All I want is the contract to refurbish the jails in time for the 2015 intake. Nigeria will survive the current idiocy.

Is Stella Oduah still a serving Minister today? Was she not sacked? What's your point, man?
Like I said earlier, the northern leaders/politicians up north are not helping matters in the fight against insurgency.I hope you are not suggesting that GEJ deploy more military hardware/personnel to exterminate the whole north in order to put an end to this insurgency?
When OBJ created EFCC to tackle corrupt politicians from the opposition, you lots were screaming blue murder..If GEJ was doing same to fight APC politicians (in which he has the power to do so),what would you have said?
Give me your facts about the fuel subsidy scam.
The Jos crisis in which President Obasanjo declared a state of emergency in Jos and installed a Military Administrator..was GEJ the President?
I expect you to start attacking with falsehood now.
How long did it take to sack Oduah. Did she not follow him to Jerusalem to 'pray'? Is that how to tackle fraud in government? Isn't she now a pdp candidate for the national assembly? As for Ubah of capital oil

The same president follows Sherrif to meet the Cameroun president and closes the airport to all but him, provides him with security the people if maiduguri don't have, while he is facing accusations of being an early boko haram sponsor?
So why can't Jonathan let EFCC do their job properly, or is that also beyond him? All you have are pitiful excuses for his incompetence. Ozugo biko.

Fuel subsidy scam has been here since Independence? The violence in plateau has been going on since Independence?

PoliticsRe: Why Some Nigerians Say GEJ Is A Weak President. by Change2015(m):
Hemanwel:
- Boko Haram: I dont understand what you mean by Boko Haram. But I want to assume what you mean is his inability to nip boko haram in the bud, right? Now,I want to tell you that:
1. boko haram has more sympathisers in the north than any other part of the country. The fight against terrorism/insurgency is not one man's thing to do rather,it should be a collective effort..I heard the case of a group of soldiers who chased some members of BH to a particular village in the north and the people there were shielding the BH members from being caught...In this instance, what do expect the president to do? He should bring down the whole village and not minding the collateral damage?
2. Northern politicians/leaders have vowed to use the insurgency to bring down GEJ's administration.Reason they have condemned every attempt by GEJ to fight insurgency. They say it's a fight against the north.

- Loss of the country's territorial integrity: I think this has been explained under boko haram.

- Daily killings in the middle belt: Are you still hearing of that today? The security operatives have put that to check.

- Hyper corruption: This is a perennial problem in,not just Nigeria, but all over Africa. It didn't start in GEJ's administration,so why do you have to use it to discredit his administration? If you say GMB is not corrupt, what about those fronting him in the party like Tinubu,Amaechi,Atiku,Bisi Akande, etc,?Are these ones not corrupt?Has Tinubu not mortgaged Lagos state?

- Lawlessness: Like seriously?Where? You blaming GEJ for the lawlessness in your area, bah??

- Damaged economy: Nigeria's economy was adjudged the number one in Africa under GEJ's administration...Or do you want to blame GEJ for the fallen Oil prices which resulted in the devaluation of the country's currency.Even Russia and many OPEC countries have devalued their currency...

- Destroyed governmental institutions,Budgets which make no sense,: Please,be specific on these ones.

- Using religion to divide the country: In what way has GEJ used religion to divide the country? Were there comments or actions from GEJ which incited these allegations??

- Unruly aides and officials in the Presidency,Reducing Nigeria to an object of scorn...: These allegations of yours just show that you have sold your soul to supporting GMB and that you don't want to see any good thing to pin-point about GEJ's administration.
This is a pathetic response, really!

Jonathan himself said boko haram is in his government, and to date he has not found, sacked or put them on trial. Is that a sign of strength or intelligence?
The violence in plateau and surrounding areas is still a threat. Ask anyone from that area, and don't repeat empty words.
Jonathan had to be pressured to sack Stella Oduah, gave Alamiesegha presidential pardon and returned properties bought with funds looted from Bayelsa state funds, supervises the fuel subsidy scam, is depleting our foreign reserves for no reason and sacked a cbn governor who spoke out about corruption in government. He has also given EFCC to his wife to manage, so it is effectively dead. The prosecution of the nyanya bomber is a shambles, ffk is negotiating with EFCC and ubah of capital oil who is on trial for subsidy fraud is also organiser of TAN, so please excuse us if we say Jonathan is a friend of the corrupt and a beneficiary too.
Which minister stands out for excellence? Only the agricultural minister seems to have made a mark. What kind of useless executive can that be? Obviously one with the appropriate 'tool' at its head. How many pdp States governors are lauded for their governance? The same president that recognises the governor who got fewer votes in the governor's forum election as the winner? Do you really need me to go on? Immigration recruitment deaths, and no one is sacked, pension fund fraud...

Keep repeating lies, but the truth is here to find you!

1. Major General Muhammadu Buhari never said he will make Nigeria ungovernable in 2011 in any public format

2. It was a PDP politician, Alhaji Lawal Kaita who actually said Nigeria would be ungovernable if Jonathan became president in 2011.

3. It was Jonathan’s media spokesman, Reuben Abati who sat down and largely concocted the slanderous libel against Buhari’s name in April 2011.

4. General Muhammadu Buhari took Reuben Abati to court for damaging his name.

5. The Jonathan Presidency begged Major General Buhari to settle the case with Reuben Abati and the Guardian out of court.

6. General Buhari obliged and settled out of court. Reuben Abati with The Guardian published an unreserved apology to Buhari in the Guardian of 11th July, 2013.

7. Late General Azazi referred to the PDP “ungovernable” crises and anger that did actually lead to Boko Haram terror franchise hired by the PDP.

i like the way you put down your points and i agree with you in many things. but you see i dont support GEJ being in office for another 4years for if we are fair to the truth, it is obvious he lacks the will, resolve and intelligence to lead nigeria. having said that, i dont also agree that of all the young visioneers we could have chosen to lead this country, we are harping SAI buhari. i dont believe any man on planet earth is both saint and messiah rolled in one (as alluded to the general) and still dines and wines with all these ex PDP disgruntled self serving politicians in APC,heck is Tinubu also amongst the prophets?
my only concern is that whoever comes in by 2015 should bring to justice members of Bokoharam, their Sponsors and whoever has his handa stained by the blood of thousands of christians slaughtered in northern Nigeria since all this wickedness started. that to me is first before we start talking of economy!
BTW i do not care about the insensitive and selfish clamour for peace and security of the grave yard by some people at the detriment of justice hence i also want Ex Niger delta militants prosecuted.
Truly we agree on a number of things. I really don't care who the president is as long as he pays attention to his job and is dedicated to the unity of this nation first. My concern is that Jonathans wife runs one part of the country, the pdp governors do as they wish, the legislators have no direction no agenda. Do we hear Obama or others giving press conferences about contracts being approved, or dashing the nations wealth to any person who catches his eye for 5 minutes. Look at the apc manifesto and what appeals most to me is job creation, national security, affordable housing (which will create jobs) education and health reform. Fortunately Jonathan has shown his character and we have multiple testimonies as the the sterling quality of GMB. I do not expect a saint, but we desperately need a sane government. Can you imagine Mrs Buhari snatching a microphone from a governor at a public event? Or using Abuja police to lock a governor down in his own government house? Who elected her empress? If my professors wife sounded illiterate, I would doubt his ability to enhance my education, since he must love her more than me and yet she remains... In her condition. GMB has personal and leadership qualities I admire, and in any contest I would pick him over a Jonathan every time.

they are being hunted anf killed by your northern moslem brothers everyday in the guise of bokoharam and nomadic gunmen. If you are a western moslem still busy playing the ostritch while hoping quietly in your heart that Christians will be wiped out of Nigeria, be rest assured its not gonna happen.
I'm a Christian from the below the Niger part. Don't assume! Fulani herdsmen would never be part of boko haram because they are culturally different for one thing. Try to know you fellow countrymen a little better. Herdsmen have the objective of getting cattle to the major markets so next time you go to buy meat, why not ask if it is supplied by boko haram as you ignorantly suggest. Herdsmen from time immemorial have had issues with settled farmers because their cattle decimate the farms. In one incident, a friend of mine in the North joined in chasing them off, and they came back days later guns blazing and set the village on fire. He lost an arm to a bullet. Boko Haram is a band of insurgents profiting from the inability of the government to maintain law and order, yes, even the delta militants were bribed to end the fighting, they were not defeated by the military. Now boko haram is showing how deep the cancer of bad governance has gone. Soldiers sent to fight without necessary equipment, without medical supplies, without battalion strength numbers. GMB crushed the maitasine revolt ruthlessly, and yet you claim his objective is to islamise the country? Boko Haram do not respect your president but they will fear Buhari. Believe that.

will it interest you to know that Christianity began in Turkey (constantinopole) as early as 60AD? The citizens were so ignorant and lacadascical, putting their trust in their riches and strong walls of defense, until islam overran them in the 11th century? And what is your defense on the Australian immigrant issue?
We Nigerians have chased hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians out of our country before. That is where ghana-must-go comes from. It was shameful. If we go to the AU, we will smile and call each other African brothers, abi. That we have the ability to do something does not make it right but I believe that international immigrants have a duty to try to assimilate into the culture they have chosen to move to.

On your first point, should we insist that Israel is Christian country since that is where it all started? Well, they have held on to their original faith, and that is their choice. We have religions that predate Christianity and Islam. Adherents of such cannot be made to feel oppressed in their own land by either Christians or Muslims. Christian history is also replete with all manner of terrible events so I do not see how Nigerians will ever accept a dominant national religion. This is not the middle ages. Everyone will and should have the right to practice their faith without disturbing their neighbours. All this fear-hawking is simply based on ignorance of what GMB stands for, and the constitutional position of Nigeria. I challenge Jonathan to pull us out of the OIC. Beyond getting reelected he really does not have much interest in your affairs. Trust me on this.

Hi friend, I can tell u are an open minded person which is good. But I was expecting a far better reply from you.

You say," How will anyone islamize or christianise any part of Nigeria?" well then u don't know Islam. Islam is an ideology and their quran commands them to go and dominate the world. That is why we now have over 49 Muslim countries.
And half of Nigeria espousing sharia law.

How long will it be before it is the entire country. Nigeria joined the Organisation for Islamic Contries in 1986 to the consternation of the Christians but the ruling northerns did it. So technically Nigeria is an Islamic country though it is secular in reality.

My only fear is that buhari will continue from where murtala and babangida left off.

You also said,"It is a ridiculous idea that you guys are selling on behalf of the pdp.."

why do u say "you guys" if you look at my past posts in the politics section you will see my stance on the pdp. I don't like the pdp, I voted buhari in 2011. But since then I have gotten to know him better and followed his statements in the news, some as far back as 2001. My conclusion is that he is a religious bigot and will be a threat to Nigeria's unity if elected. He is also a man of strong convictions as well as a determined individual, qualities which I like.

Jonathan has actually performed above average on paper. His reforms on manufacturing, power and agriculture are catching on. However, on ground it has been a terribly poor result especially as oil price falls and dollar strengthens.

buhari will cause more harm than good as far as facts on the ground suggest.
Not buying it. Sorry. The first question to ask yourself, is the fear you have rational? What is it based on? 2yrs ago when GMB was sitting down at home why wasn't he working on his supposed islamisation project? Why is it that your fear arises at a time when Jonathan can find little concrete to report to the average Nigerian? When all the world is awash with stories of his weakness, his incompetence, his general nonchalant attitude to governance? Why is it that your fear is aroused only by impending elections? To change our constitution even for good, is damn difficult, so how will this your fear be realised? Jonathan has been attending OIC meetings for years, has he reported any such pressure, or, has he even withdrawn the country from the OIC? No, he is comfortable with it, apparently. I'm sorry but a modicum of critical thinking will expose your supposed fears to be I'll founded and without a shred of rational evidence.

Brother, our common law, criminal law, contract law and property laws are based on the judeo-christian heritage going back all the way to roman law. The system has the same roots as British law, Christian roots! Canon law is for the church, Christian organisations and members thereof. We have many traditional practices that will not allow imposition of Canon or Islamic law in Nigeria because they all met us with many well established traditions. A Catholic can already ignore his church law and take a second wife, or divorce his first. Should that be a criminal matter? And what happens to celestials, or ekankar, or latter day saints, jehovahs witnesses, guru maharaji, etc. Will they accept your version of Canon law? Isn't that why boko haram is killing Muslims that don't agree with them even threatening to assassinate the emir of Kano? Religion should be a private matter for every believer and the organs of state have no business promoting one or the other. Nigeria is a secular state.
