Title: “Blues for the New Senate King” Poet: Prof Niyi Osundare
“Behold, the people ask: Who will save us from our prostitutes n power? He wanted so desperately to be king of the Senate. He left the path of honour behind. Haba! “He stabbed noble faith and trust in the back and put the traitor’s knife on the bonds that bind. Power-intoxicated, blinded by ambition, he only cares for three big people: ‘I, me and myself’. “A renegade old book with phoney letters; vacuous, thumb-stained on history’s shelf. His feet never know the way to the house of honour. Integrity is visibly missing in his diction of deceit. “He sold us cheap in the commerce of the backroom caucus. Coming back later with a false receipt. Cocky without conscience, rude without restraint, he traded away a victory won with our sweat and blood. “A discredited enemy behind his tarnished banner; he trampled the people’s hope in the shameful mud. The fruit never falls far from its tree; true scion of a cold and crooked clan. Broken banks, broken dreams, and broken lives, he’s a fitting heir to a dubious pedigree.” |

Image123: Naira is not dropping at the speed of light, it is still 199 at the official rate. It is bureau de change rate that is fluctuating. That rate hit a 240 high under Jonathan despite NOI wasting $2billion to stop it. It's a falling knife already, so get some patience. Also, Jonathan appointed ministers July 11 so baba never late yet. Yaradua and OBJ were similar, the world has not ended yet. I made some transactions yesterday and I was shocked to realise a GBP is now over N305. Maybe I'm being too impatient but I think 3months is enough time for the president to figure out who and who he's going to work with. |
Politics › Dear President Buhari, 3months Is Enough To Appoint Your Cabinet by change49ja(op): 5:09pm On Jun 25, 2015 |
President Buhari should as a matter of urgency appoint his cabinet especially ministers in order for the economy to move forward. As it is now, the economy is standing still.
PMB after winning the presidential election has about two months and another one month after his inauguration as president, nearly three months in total to figure out who and who to appoint as ministers.
He doesn't have to appoint 20 or 30 ministers at a time but at least, he should appoint ministers for the key ministries.
The immediate appointment of ministers especially ministers with good characters and good records will go a long way to boost people's morale.
Time is running out...God bless the FRN. |

donphilopus: It seems I'm now believing the Members of the House of Reps more than our Senators. Hadn't been Saraki was the Speaker and tries what he's trying in the Senate floor, in the House chambers, I believe he would have been laid to rest by now. It wouldn't take a member a second to accost him and hurt him. You may call that legislative rascality, but it's welcomed in times like this.
The Party has the SAY on who is to be the Majority Leader and all that, all the Senate President or House Speaker has to do is just announce the list submitted by the Party.
Ahmad Ali, who was the Former Chairmen (7th) House Committee on Justice was asked to leave the House of Reps and contest (Kwara) State House of Assembly Seat. He won and he was eventually made the Speaker. Who aided that? The Chief Godfather of Kwara Politics (Saraki). He believes in imposition in his State but doesn't believe in it at the Central because it wouldn't favour him.
As usual, PDPians would invade this thread and commend the duo (Saraki and Dogara). My question for you guys is: "Did Tambuwal refuse to announce the names submitted to him by PDP in 2011 as Principal Officers?" If NO, then y'all (TANdroids) should shut that bleep! |

If not check, I fear his many followers won't think twice before killing their neighbors that doesn't support biafra, even family members. Since everyone that doesn't support is regarded as an enemy. There's so much wisdom in you. Lighter and gas can never be friend. The Kanu guy is just like a lighter. I think Buhari should stop all these irrelevant visits NOW and face the music(with all due respect to the traditional rulers).
The National Assembly is burning, Boko Haram keeps killing, Unpaid workers salaries, Corruption here and there, Naira value keeps dropping at the 'speed of light', no ministers, infact no cabinet yet almost 1 month in office...and the list goes on.

I read Dr. Emeka Anyaoku's speech about our legislators' jumbo pay at a gala night organized by former president GEJ prior to PMB inauguration and I was so angry especially with the following quote: [ quote]"He told the world that even at that, Nigeria ‘prides’ herself as having the highest paid lawmakers in the world. And that means that the Nigerian lawmaker earns more than his counterpart in the United States, China, Britain, Japan, Canada et al? In these countries, their light will hardly blink. In these countries, monthly statistical information about number of jobs created is a serious campaign issue."[/quote]Enough of these waste by these wicked and shameless thieves who don't care about nothing but their pockets.Nigerians are suffering while these legislooters are smiling to the bank. President Buhari should immediately use his power (without consulting anyone) and cut the legislators jumbo pay to the bearest minimum to be at par with countries like US, UK, Japan, China, France, Germany etc. This is a matter of common sense and if the legislators are not ready to compromise, they should just resign and let other patriots do the job with little or nothing. Enough is enough. Source: http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/06/jumbo-pay-emeka-anyaokus-atomic-bom |

jomoh: Your knowledge of Politics is very little.
The fact is that in politics Loyalty is very key. For a president -most especially Nigerian president- to succeed, he needs a senate president that can be loyal, trusted and a reliable party ally. Because the nigerian politics is a "winner takes all" kind of politics. Even the president realised this too late which is the reason why he is now angry with Bukola after declaring his readiness to work with him. All this was due to the inexperience of PMB and APC at the federal level.
Does a Bukola saraki have any of those traits? Someone who betrayed his own father and sister.
The undeniable truth is that Bukola can betray anyone for his personal ambition and it is very dangerous for a president to rely on such person. |

Nig4Greatness: .....Mr your comment is very funny and sheer display of ignorance. Let me lecture you a bit on the science of politics. 1.comparing Tinubu and Saraki head to head is like comparing life and death.they are not mates and it's a complete mismatch.you yourself that typed those rubbish above know this cos Tinubu was never a product of anybody but he personally built his political status unlike Saraki that was just a mere beneficiary of his father political legacy.where was Saraki when Tinubu was busy building his political empire?,Saraki was still in SGB embezzling their money. 2.Tinubu is not nursing any political ambition anymore except that he just wanted to build a strong party he laboured to bring to the national prominence and leave an enduring legacy unlike Saraki that's still nursing more political ambition.so you would expect their approach to be different. 3.Tinubu has been in an opposition all his life starting from military days and has weathered all the storms that came with it unlike Saraki that has never being in opposition and has always been having his romance with the ruling party.if you still have any memory left, you could have easily remember what he went through in the senate when he decamped to this same party just last year. 4.your claim that he is a godfather on his own, mention people he has been able to mentor in politics unlike Tinubu that has built leaders everwhere. 5.since you are so sure of his political sagacity, why didn't he form his own party when he left pdp instead of coming to join apc that's already gaining grounds?,at least Buhari despite his lean financial muscles, still managed to formed Cpc. 6.Is Tinubu only the decision making organ of apc?,what is the work of their nwc?.if everything falls on him, that means he is only being genius and professional. Mention one politician alive today that you can put side a side with Tinubu?.none.he was only a governor but he has been able to extend his tentacles because he has a vision.this man play a politics of compromise....give and take, that is why he's a leader. Finally boy,let simple reason prevails whenever judgement comes and not based on personal hatred. Also,I would encourage you to read more books on politics so you can be vastly informed.may God help you as you do so. |

omonnakoda: Tinubu coming together with Buhari won't have mattered if GEJ performed. He did not perform and was a very divisive figure. If he was well advised and treated the SW properly he could have marginalized Tinubu. Tinubu is not that respected in the SW contrary to what APC supporters might think. GEJ disrespected the SW that is why he lost there. By the time he started sharing his dollars it was too late. He was inexperienced and allowed himself to be misused by Eboes thus losing the final opportunity for southern solidarity against the north My friend, if GEJ performed, we won't be discussing this issue today. However, GEJ could've still won with the resources at his disposal (despite his failures) but because of the three musketeers i.e Tinubu, Buhari and Ameachi. |
