Some Africans including Nigerians have taken to social media to show their funny sides after the Malian migrant who scaled four-storeys up a building in Paris, France to rescue a dangling toddler became an online sensation. Pictures trending on Facebook show some unidentified Africans jokingly trying to learn how to climb buildings in case the need arises for them to become famous. Mamoudou Gassama who was nicknamed the Spiderman of Paris – climbed the city apartment block to reach the helpless child. The gesture earned him honorary French citizenship after meeting with the president, Emmanuel Macron and also a job with the Paris fire service. After meeting the French president at the Elysee Palace on Monday morning, he was told he would be made a naturalised citizen straight away. It was a moment of joy for two sisters identified as Salamatou and Mariama as they relished the excitement of finally being able to race around their village after surgically correcting their physical condition. According to reports, the sisters have spent their lives watching others run and play as their windswept legs held them back. Some police officers and security operatives were visibly downcast and disappointed after a thief got away from them during a hot pursuit. According to Facebook user Emmanuel, the security agents were pursuing a robber who stole a mobile phone from a victim before the thief decided to play a fast one on them by jumping into the big gutter and escaping through the tunnel. The policemen had to stop their pursuit at the point as they ''hoped'' the thief would resurface. A Catholic priest has contracted the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo amid a continuing outbreak that began in the nation earlier this month. The priest, who has been identified as Fr. Lucien Ambunga, - was reportedly infected in the town of Mbandaka. The clergy was pictured receiving prayers from other the Bishop and priests after being quarantined. Extremely contagious and highly deadly, Ebola gained major international attention during the 2014-2016 epidemic in West Africa that left more than 11,000 people dead. In the latest outbreak in DRC, the first case of Ebola was reported on May 8 in the rural Equateur province near Bikoro, and later spread to Mbandaka. Earlier today, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned former Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, Aminu Wali and Mansur Ahmed before a Federal High Court sitting in Kano state. Shekarau's supporters blocked a road leading to the court as they held prayers for him in the presence of security operatives who were observing them. Shekarau is being charged alongside, Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali and one Mansur Ahmed for allegedly conniving to collect the cash sum of N950 million part of the $115 million distributed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deizani Allison-Madueke for the purpose of influencing the outcome of the 2015 general election. A 51-year-old man identified as Mr, Abiodun Adeleye was arrested by the enforcement team of the Lagos State Task Force to have impersonated himself as an official of the Agency and extorted N3,000 from innocent motorist under Mile 12 bridge. He was arrested under Mile 12 bridge after he had illegally arrested owner of a Toyota Camry car and collected N3000 as bribe. Mr. Abiodun Adeleye claimed to have started 10 months ago extorting money from innocent motorists around ketu to Mile 12 area and that he made N5000 to N10000 daily from this illegal acts. An unfortunate incident which occurred yesterday at Mile 2 expressway in Lagos - claimed the life of a man. The man was crushed to death by a truck following an accident with a commercial bus popularly known as 'Danfo'. The victim whose body bled to the death and died on the spot after the accident - was evacuated by emergency officials. A female Nigerian referee, Ruth Okafor has been hailed both online and offline for saving a player's life during a football game. The referee from Lagos, Ruth Okafor saved the life of a player, Jennifer Osawaru, in the Nigeria Women Premier League Week 6 encounter between Sure Babes FC of Ilorin and Edo Queens of Benin City, in a match played at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin. These two robbers were apprehended by the Police this morning around Ketu bus stop in Lagos while trying to hijack a vehicle from the driver with a toy gun. They are currently in police custody and would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded. A lady is in pains both physically and emotionally after her husband dumped his wedding vow ('for better for worse', 'in sickness and in health') and abandoned her at the time she needs him most. The Port-Harcourt resident identified Aku Caroline Oluchi, a graduate of Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) from the Federal University of Technology, FUTO in Owerri, Imo state - was abandoned by her husband immediately she had this health problem. According to Kelechi Amadi, the sick woman has been suffering from a case of ruptured appendix not quickly diagnosed, thus leading to damage of the intestine and rupture of the stomach into 3 holes, passing out faeces. It was gathered that after the initial surgery - two holes closed up, but the remaining one refused to close for almost two months now. A spray painter, who suddenly disappeared with a customer's car, has been located in Osu, Osun State. The 39-year old defaulting artisan, Gafar Jelili, allegedly bolted with a Toyota Corolla car from Ilaro in Ogun State and relocated to Osu, where he later sold out the car to one of his in-laws. It was gathered that Jelili, currently in the net of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, got the car spraying job in 2017 upon which he billed the car owner #25,000. No sooner had he been paid than he suddenly disappeared into thin air, according to reports.. The victim lodged a complaint with the Officer-In-Charge of FSARS, DSP Adams Uba, who raised a team to go after the suspect. Through technical intelligence, the car was traced to Osu in Osun State, where it was discovered to have been sold to a man, who happens to be Jelili's in-law. The said in-law was arrested, and in his own account, he revealed that he bought the car from Jelili, following which the suspect was arrested. A barber was allegedly assaulted by soldiers after cutting the wrong hairstyle for a man's daughter yesterday in Asaba, Delta state. According to an online report, trouble started after the barber couldn't perfect the hairstyle the man wanted for his daughter - thereby prompting the man not to pay as he took his daughter to another saloon. It was reported that this morning, the man stormed the barber's shop with soldiers and assaulted him. Human rights advocate,Prince Gwamnishu Harrison shared the sad story online. Below is what he wrote; BARBER ASSAULTED IN ASABA BY SOLDIERS FOR CUTTING WRONG HAIR STYLE. Received a call from a barber to please rescue his boy from further maltreatment by soldiers (fully dressed in Army Uniform). We couldn't get to the scene due to wrong address given by the caller. (Apologies). WHAT HAPPENED The man who led the soldiers took her daughter to the saloon yesterday to cut her hair and told the barber the hair style he want for his daughter. Unfortunately, the barber couldn't perfect the hair style and the man refused to pay, took his daughter to another barber shop. At about 9:46am, this morning he stormed the barber shop with soldiers and assaulted the barber. We asked the neighbors around and they gave same statement. A boy has been given a reason to smile again after his hope of playing football with friends has been realized. The young boy identified as Adam was left injured after an infection caused a severe ankle contracture, which made him unable to walk properly - let alone run or play his favorite sport. According to reports, for over three years, Adam has been walking on his heel, believing he’d never be able to play normally again. This is really nice. A young man identified Daniel has won hearts of many after his selfless act rendered to a homeless woman. According to Daniel, before her transformation, the 51-year-old woman named Mary was sleeping in the bush with no one to take care of her as many thought she's insane before he took her in and refreshed her. The young man also said that the woman is now part of his family. It was earlier reported that a Liberty Television journalist, Aminu Nurudeen, suspected to have posted the viral video showing the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, struggling to read a speech at a public event in Kano, has gone into hiding. According to reports, the Kano State Police Command invited the reporter to its office immediately the video went viral. Now the Kano state police command has released a press statement to that effect. Some members of the All Progressives Congreess (APC) were today beaten, harassed and injured during the APC state congress in Ilorin, Kwara state capital. According to reports, a faction of the party having duly paid the statutory nomination fees to the banks after scaling all hurdles - encountered problem after heading to the secretariat to obtain forms. They were told by the other faction that the forms are no longer with them at the office - thereby hindering them from contesting at the state congress. After an argument, as the party members were coming down from the secretariat, some hoodlums descended on them and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on them. It was gathered that one Mr. Qudus Ahmed (Secretary Buhari Campaign Organisation, BCO) was seriously injured with cuts in his head and upper part of the body. Several others were not spared in the attack as their phones were forcefully taken and equally disposed of their valuables.
