Congratulations are in order for Almajiri Fulani man who has been promoted to the rank of brigadier general in the Nigerian army.. Brigadier General Abubakar Adamu a.k.a Ano, the newly decorated officer celebrated his meritorious promotion with family and friends on his home soil (Gembu) in Taraba state.

The war veteran from Wuro-Ardo Yuguda /Leme Da'u, a Fulani's settlement suburb of Gembu town - is the second figure ever to reach the rank in the Nigerian Army and the first to attend the American War College, Carlisle Pennsylvania in the United State of America (USA) from Sardauna LGA of Taraba state, according to reports.

Congratulations to him.

History was made on Friday, December 22nd after HRM, Peremobowei Shedrack Erebulu, Aduo III, the young graduate of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, who is the youngest king in the entire Ijaw nation - paid a courtesy visit to HRM Oboro Gbaraun II; the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West local government in Delta state. An old woman, Adenike Fafila, about 80 years of age, from Igoba area of Akure, Ondo State, has been reported missing.

The woman was said to have left Igoba (her home) with a message that she was going to plait hair for one of her daughters at Oyemekun, Akure about a month ago. Since then, she was neither seen at her destination nor returned back home.

Anyone who has any information about her whereabouts should contact the appropriate authorities.

After slaughtering the animal, the man who planned to prepare a sumptuous meal with it - shared the photo online thereby causing negative reactions from different people. See below;

In an attempt to keep the state clean and safe, the Cross River state government through the Urban Development Authority (CUDA) is doing all possible to see that psychotic people (mad people) are kept away from the streets, social and commercial centres across the state.

In a visit to the Calabar Urban Development Authority (CUDA) Vagrant Psychotic Remand Home at Uwanse, Calabar South LGA. The CUDA Secretary, Hon. Joemary Ekeng Ita who spoke to news men, thanked the state governor, Sen. Ben Ayade for his continuous assistance to CUDA in dealing with this ugly situation.

Taking news men round the facility that houses about 100 psychotic persons made up of men and women age between 18 to 60, it was discovered that about 95% of these persons are not indigenes of Cross River state.

The Secretary said most of these persons do not enter the state as individual migrant but are dumped in groups at some lonely spots and allowed to move into our towns and cities.

He therefore, call on Cross Riverians to be vigilant as most of these persons come in to disrupt the peace and beautiful tourism environment of the state. He added that the habit of them seeking accommodations at beautiful spots and lonely areas, causes a lot of problem and threat to innocent persons.

In another development, the Secretary said hoodlums also enter the state disguise as psychotic persons and use uncompleted buildings as their hideout while studying their points of target by day and at night carry out their notorious activities without the people and men of the security agencies suspecting.

He added that some are drug dealers who go around by day as mad persons distributing their harmful merchandise to different retail dealers.

A young lady, Obodo Amaka, has revealed how she was shot yesterday by unknown gunmen while returning from the market. According to her, she thought she was hit by a stone as she continued walking before blood started dropping down her legs.

Below is what she shared on Facebook;

I was shot yesterday on my way back from the market by an unknown gun men, I felt something like stone hit me and kept walking until I started feeling the flow of blood down my legs. I have every reason to be grateful and thankful to God for giving me a second chance. Help me thank God, I also need your prayers cause the x-ray showed that the bullet is still resting on my lungs, it's in a very delicate area and can't be removed at the moment.

Sequel to the Kidnapping of Mr Ubani Onyema 64yrs, A production manager in Niger Delta Petroleum Resources based in Port Harcourt by unknown Gun Men in Woji PH on 16/10/17. A ransom call was made to the Hostage’s company demanding 100 million naira, but was eventually Negotiated down to N10 million which was paid to the Kidnappers despite not getting a proof of life.

IRT operatives deployed to Port Harcourt by IGP Ibrahim Idris swung into immediate action As the hostage was not released after the ransom was paid as Negotiated and agreed. Unrelenting Follow up by the IRT Team eventually led to the arrest of seven (7) Of the Kidnappers.

Suspects confessed to various roles each played in the kidnap, and admitted that the hostage, Ubani Onyema, died on the very day of his kidnap as a result of gun shot wounds he sustained during the kidnapping and they still went ahead to collect a ransom of 10 million.

Suspects names and roles played as Confessed are as follows: 1) Nduka Alaribe AKA Abiola 'm' 34 Gang Leader, organised the kidnap, recruited the hostage keepers, brought the two cars used for the kidnap, led gang members to pick up the ransom. 2) Godstime Eme 'm' 35 the second in command, a university graduate, he purchased the pre-registered sim which he used in negotiating for ransom and picked up the ransom. Also monitored the movement of late Ubani Onyema on the day of his kidnap. 3) Nkere Uwam 'm' 38, the mastermind behind the kidnap, who also worked in the same company with the victim. 4) Wisdom Uchechi Chidi 'm' 35, a notorious leader of Greenlanders cult terrorising Ahoda-East LGA provided the arms used in the kidnap. 5) Ayakazi Woyin-Kuro 'm' 32, assisted in the recruitment of gang members. 6) Okpako Emperor 'm' 37 also worked in the company was part of the plot to kidnap Ubani. 7) Adimibe Kanayo 'm' 30 also worked in the company was part of the plot to kidnap Ubani.

Items recovered includes 1 AK47 Rifle and the two(2) vehicles used in the kidnap. Effort is ongoing to arrest other fleeing gang members, recover remaining arms and the body of the Victim which they confessed to have dropped into the river.

A man was allegedly arrested by police operatives for not being able to "produce receipts for the two phones on him". According to an online report, the man was in a cab to Rivers State University for a meeting before he was allegedly arrested by officers of the "Operation Delta" Police, Mile One division in Rivers state.

The policemen allegedly took the man into custody "for possession of two cellphones without receipt".

According to reports, this woman identified as Ummy Danmusa has been declared missing after she's yet to return home after leaving her residence some days ago. A Facebook user Habibah Mohammed who lives in Kaduna state shared the sad news - revealing how the woman is yet to be seen as search begins for her.

This is very sad. A woman, late Deaconess Juliana Adaeze Wagoha and her daughter identified as Dr Elizabeth Ihuoma Wagoha, have died tragically leaving their family and friends in lament. According to reports gathered, the 49-year-old woman was said to be travelling with her 25-year-old daughter from their base at Port-Harcourt, Rivers state to Onitsha in order to get some things for her (daughter's) wedding meant to take place in two weeks ago- before tragedy struck.

The pair both died in a fatal accident.

Their burial arrangements have been concluded as they are to be laid to rest on Friday, December 22. May their souls rest in peace.

She was just 49 , a Registrar in a University. Her first child/daughter was already a Medical doctor at 25 And about to get married. Invitations have gone out and they were just waiting for the great day which never came!
The marriage was to take place 2 weeks ago. Mum and daughter left their base,PH to Onitsha to get souvenirs/ stuffs for the wedding and that was it! Death struck!
My heart goes out to their families .
How would one begin to console them? What would you say to the man who.lost a wife and a daughter? Or the children or the young girl's husband? OMG!!!

Life and Death!

Just before you brag and boast and threaten others, remember that this life is so transient, so fleeting and ephemeral.
Before you complain of all the things you couldnt get, remember that BEING ALIVE IS A PRIVILEGE.

I am just imagining the feeling in their households now. The man of the house and the bridegroom of the dead lady will still not have recovered from this shock, if they will ever. Sad!!

Rest in peace mother and child. At least, you won't have any more worries again!

My condolences to the family. May God give you and your entire family the fortitude to bear this IRREPARABLE LOSS.

It would have been a sad tale for a Port-Harcourt based pastor, Bishop John Bienose, who survived a ghastly motor accident over the weekend. The clergy was said to be returning from a Bishops’ meeting and heading to his son Joshua's wedding when his back tire blew and the car overturned a few times.

According to reports, they were 5 in the car including him, the father of the groom and the sister of the bride. A thanksgiving service was held today at Church of God Mission (CGMi) Woji, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

There are still good people in Nigeria. A lady has revealed how her family passed through hell in the course of helping a young man whose parents were killed by Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa state. According to Chioma Nwabueze, the police almost detained her father for trying to help the stranger who was down with ruptured appendicitis as he fled Adamawa to Lagos.

I came back from work and met this guy in my house.. According to my family, they always see him around n my (mum) mama Africa as I call her,usually give him food anytime she sees him resting at the front of our compound. To cut the story short, mum was only trying to do what the Bible asked us to do.

Unfortunately, this guy from Adamawa state who is a victim of the Boko Haram tragedy lost his parents and family in Adamawa and moved to Lagos.

On the 9th of December 2017,he was brought to our home by someone who said when he was dying of pains, he asked him who he has in this Lagos that can help him and he said my mum. Coming back to meet this stranger I haven't even met n saw his condition, I knew it was beyond just care as a nurse. We rushed him to hospital and doctor diagnosed RUPTURED APPENDICITIS...

I started asking myself, Chioma who sent u ooo.. Everyone I told said y can't I throw him away to die? I was heart broken.

The load was on me n my family. We went to police station, they wanted to detain my dad . They were like y will he help someone he doesn't know? It was hell for US.. We tried to get someone from his state to stand in for the surgery, no way... Anyway I decided to take the risk. N I stood in. The surgery was successful. Am sharing this because anyone could have been in this guy shoe... I could have been in his shoe. Today is the happiest day of my life. God saved me from troubles for rendering help.. So Pls celebrate with me n my family.... It wasn't easy but it worth it.!!!!!
