I strongly believe it's unfair when people use Champions League as a yardstick for measuring his success.

He has just been unlucky in Champions League, but that doesn't make him less of a great coach.

As a Chelsea fan, I place his coaching abilities far and above all other coaches in the Premier League.

I don't believe in sentiments but in hardcore reality. And the reality is that, at present no Coach comes close to Pep.

We all may not agree, but the whole world cannot deny the glaring facts of Pep's ingenuity.

I just d d speculate since

it was good and loved the fan service here and there , but i was a bit underwhelmed with the final battle which lacked creative oomph. it could've have been better and the only person that saved the action was Willam Defoe's acting prowess. other than that, it was good.

Your first paragraph sums everything up. You said he has been consistent for the past two season which is great. But you have to realize that the organisers of Ballond'or dont take into account two seasons. They only judge a player by the just concluded season's achievement. So I don't know y pple keep making the error of thinking Lewy's last 2seasons achievement would be considered.
So pls let's just stick to last season's achievement of both players and compare and contrast.
Secondly, on your last paragraph, you have to understand that football is evolving, assists and other criteria might not matter in the old football but trust me, they are beginning to matter now in modern football. For instance in the just concluded Euros , Ronaldo was adjudged the highest goal scorer by assists(correct me if I'm wrong). He and the guy in 2nd place were tied on equal goals, hence assists was used to determine the winner. So assists matters now in modern football.
Lastly, Messi is also a striker like Lewy yet he brings other features to his game aside goals so tell me why he shouldn't be a winner.

i tire oo. Same thing i pondered. Messi and Ronaldo had almost same thing last season except the usual blah blah… most passes, most dribbles, etc they keep yapping about. I won't lie to you, as at 2013,CR7 was ranked 25 on all time big game scorers, a list even Messi fell behind.

Go and research this properly in 88% of Big Games, CR7 scores, even if his team doesn't win in some cases. His ability to score in big games makes him a very clutch player.
