That's right. Both are pagan beliefs. I hope you don't find anything wrong in celebrating birthdays?

U are wasting your time with a jw..... they don’t even believe christains of today can have the Holy Spirit..they don’t even believe In healing and miracles. there’s no how you explain that trinity that it won’t sound like rocket science and advance engineering maths mixed with the theoretical physics
No sir, it's not rocket science. It's just that many of us believed in it before we came to know the truth. Because of this truth God sent his son, Jesus Christ-- a beloved son who emulated his father's qualities (eg. Love) -- to die for our sins.
.
You problem is not trinity. Your problem is your god has no name. Mine do, and his name is Jehovah (Ps 83:18).

Can you explain Genesis1vs26(And God said"let us make man in our image, after our likeness..."winkto us?Who was God speaking with? Also explain John 1vs1(In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God)which will clarify your confusion and indoctrination,if you are actually trying to seek God out of an open heart.
Thanks for your inputs. Let's analyze them in bits. To your first question, logically , it was to this firstborn Son that Jehovah said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness.” ( Ge 1:26) ... He likely did so in Eden, for on two of the three occasions where mention is made of God’s speaking there, the record specifically shows someone was with Him, undoubtedly his Son. Who is that son? Jesus Christ (did you notice he spoke to a distinct person?)( Ge 1:26-30; 2:16, 17; 3:8-19, 22)
.
The second. Can one be with someone and at the same time be that person? At John 17:3, Jesus addresses the Father as “the only true God.”

pongwa:
it's clear you do not understand the concept of Trinity. Nonetheless, you kept reiterating the fact that God is one which I quite agree with. Now think of Trinity as an egg. You will agree with me that the egg has three 'distinct' parts comprising
1) egg yolk,
2) egg white and
3) egg shell.
The point to note is that although the parts are distinct and can exist in isolation, in reality, what makes it an egg is because of the three parts occuring together. Now see the egg shell, egg yolk and egg white as God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit.
Q.E.D
I do understand the dogma perfectly. How can I tell? I was once a Catholic. Sorry to disappoint you. POC, the holy spirit is not God, it's God's active force. Jesus is very distinct from God; he is the Son. God is the Creator, he is Jehovah. You are welcome.

Christianity Etc › Six (6) Proofs Why Jehovah's Witnesses Don't Celebrate Easter. by chatinent(op): 8:04pm On Aug 01, 2020
The Bible’s answer
The celebration of Easter is not based on the Bible. If you look into its history, though, you will see the true meaning of Easter—it is a tradition based on ancient fertility rites.
.
Consider the following.
.
1. Name:
The Encyclopædia Britannica says: “The English name Easter is of uncertain origin; the Anglo-Saxon priest Venerable Bede in the 8th century derived it from the Anglo-Saxon spring goddess Eostre.” Others link it to Astarte, the Phoenician fertility goddess who had the Babylonian counterpart Ishtar.
.
2. Hares, rabbits:
These are symbols of fertility “handed down from the ancient ceremonial and symbolism of European and Middle Eastern pagan spring festivals.”—Encyclopædia Britannica.
.
3. Eggs:
According to Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology and Legend, the hunt for Easter eggs, supposedly brought by the Easter rabbit, “is not mere child’s play, but the vestige of a fertility rite.” Some cultures believed that the decorated Easter egg “could magically bring happiness, prosperity, health, and protection.”—Traditional Festivals.
.
4. New Easter outfit:
“It was considered discourteous and therefore bad luck to greet the Scandinavian goddess of Spring, or Eastre, in anything but fresh garb.”—The Giant Book of Superstitions.
.
5. Sunrise services:
These have been linked to rites of ancient sun worshippers “performed at the vernal equinox welcoming the sun and its great power to bring new life to all growing things.”—Celebrations—The Complete Book of American Holidays. The American Book of Days well describes the origin of Easter: “
.
Conclusion: There is no doubt that the Church in its early days adopted the old pagan customs and gave a Christian meaning to them.” The Bible warns against worshipping God by following traditions or customs that displease him. ( Mark 7:6-cool Second Corinthians 6:17 states: “‘Separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing.’” Easter is a pagan holiday that those who want to please God will avoid.

Ohhhhhhhh... really ....huh The Bible wasn’t written in English?? Wow I’m just finding out today... great information!!
It’s so surprising to me that the bible isn’t written in English....since most of the authors originated from the Middle East where English wasn’t spoken at the time....So it’s not normal for the Bible not to be in English orginally

the Bible u have at home is it written in the original language of the authors...??
If not.... so what’s the point of this your great information??
Yes sir, the bible was originally written in Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Every English translation today copied from those original manuscripts (your Bible and mine). You spoke as if yours was authored directly from Moses. Mine is a new word translation and copied what's really on those manuscripts without religious bias. No sarcasm intended. You are welcome.
Christianity Etc › Six (6) Proofs Jehovah's Witnesses Shun Christmas As Pagan Worship. by chatinent(op): 7:48pm On Aug 01, 2020
The Bible’s answer:
The Bible does not give the date of Jesus’ birth, nor does it say that we should celebrate his birthday. As McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopedia states: “The observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of NT [New Testament] origin.” Instead, an examination of the history of Christmas exposes its roots in pagan religious rites. The Bible shows that we offend God if we try to worship him in a way that he does not approve of.— Exodus 32:5-7.
.
History of Christmas customs.
1. Celebrating Jesus’ birthday:
“The early Christians did not celebrate [Jesus’] birth because they considered the celebration of anyone’s birth to be a pagan custom.”—The World Book Encyclopedia.
.
2. December 25:
There is no proof that Jesus was born on that date. Church leaders likely chose this date to coincide with pagan festivals held on or around the winter solstice.
.
3. Gift-giving, feasting, partying:
The Encyclopedia Americana says: “Saturnalia, a Roman feast celebrated in mid- December, provided the model for many of the merry- making customs of Christmas. From this celebration, for example, were derived the elaborate feasting, the giving of gifts, and the burning of candles.” The Encyclopædia Britannica notes that “all work and business were suspended” during Saturnalia.
.
4. Christmas lights:
According to The Encyclopedia of Religion, Europeans decorated their homes “with lights and evergreens of all kinds” to celebrate the winter solstice and to combat evil spirits.
.
5. Mistletoe, holly:
“The Druids ascribed magical properties to the mistletoe in particular. The evergreen holly was worshiped as a promise of the sun’s return.”—The Encyclopedia Americana.
.
6. Christmas tree:
“Tree worship, common among the pagan Europeans, survived after their conversion to Christianity.” One of the ways in which tree worship survived is in the custom of “placing a Yule tree at an entrance or inside the house in the midwinter holidays.”—Encyclopædia Britannica.
.
Do you really know what you are celebrating? I know you are surprised!

Christianity Etc › See Reasons Why Jesus Is Not God. by chatinent(op): 7:19pm On Aug 01, 2020
The Bible’s answer:
Many Christian denominations teach that God is a Trinity. However, note what the Encyclopædia Britannica states: “Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies.”
.
In fact, the God of the Bible is never described as being part of a Trinity.
.
Note these Bible passages:
- “Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.”—Deuteronomy 6:4.
- “You, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.”— Psalm 83:18.
-“This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”— John 17:3.
-“God is only one.”—Galatians 3:20.
.
Still thinking if the trinity doctrine has some truth? I hope you know Jesus was created and Jehovah God was not? Here is sth to think about: if Jesus is God, who was he praying to in the mountains? Concerning the misconception on the John's account in chapter one verse one, think again: how can sb who is God 'be with' God again?
.
Clearly Jesus is not God. He even stressed his father is greater than he is. Little wonder God loved him and sent him to pay his life a ransom for our sins.

Christianity Etc › Re: Fifteen Basic Beliefs You Didn't Know About Jehovah's Witnesses by chatinent(op): 6:57pm On Aug 01, 2020
13. Our unity. We are globally united in our beliefs. (1 Corinthians 1:10) We also work hard to have no social, ethnic, racial, or class divisions. (Acts 10:34, 35; James 2:4) Our unity allows for personal choice, though. Each Witness makes decisions in harmony with his or her own Bible-trained conscience.— Romans 14:1-4; Hebrews 5:14.
.
14. Our conduct. We strive to show unselfish love in all our actions. (John 13:34, 35) We avoid practices that displease God, including the misuse of blood by taking blood transfusions. (Acts 15:28, 29; Galatians 5:19-21) We are peaceful and do not participate in warfare. (Matthew 5:9; Isaiah 2:4) We respect the government where we live and obey its laws as long as these do not call on us to disobey God’s laws.— Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29.
.
15. Our relationships with others. Jesus commanded: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” He also said that Christians “are no part of the world.” ( Matthew 22:39; John 17:16) So we try to “work what is good toward all,” yet we remain strictly neutral in political affairs and avoid affiliation with other religions. (Galatians 6:10; 2 Corinthians 6:14) However, we respect the choices that others make in such matters.— Romans 14:12. Christianity Etc › Fifteen Basic Beliefs You Didn't Know About Jehovah's Witnesses by chatinent(op): 6:56pm On Aug 01, 2020
We as Jehovah’s Witnesses adhere to the form of Christianity that Jesus taught and that his apostles practiced. This article summarizes our basic beliefs.
.
1. God. We worship the one true and Almighty God, the Creator 'who has a name', and whose name is Jehovah. (Psalm 83:18; Revelation 4: 11) He is the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.—Exodus 3:6; 32:11; John 20:17.
.
2. Bible. We recognize the Bible as God’s inspired message to humans. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16) We base our beliefs on all 66 of its books, which include both the “Old Testament” and the “New Testament.” Professor Jason D. BeDuhn aptly described it when he wrote that Jehovah’s Witnesses built “their system of belief and practice from the raw material of the Bible without predetermining what was to be found there.” * While we accept the entire Bible, we are not fundamentalists. We recognize that parts of the Bible are written in figurative or symbolic language and are not to be understood literally. —Revelation 1:1.
.
3. Jesus. We follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ and honor him as our Savior and as the Son of God. (Matthew 20:28; Acts 5:31) Thus, we are Christians. (Acts 11:26) However, we have learned from the Bible that Jesus is not Almighty God and that there is no Scriptural basis for the Trinity doctrine.—John 14:28.
.
4. The Kingdom of God. This is a real government in heaven, not a condition in the hearts of Christians. It will replace human governments and accomplish God’s purpose for the earth. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10) It will take these actions soon, for Bible prophecy indicates that we are living in “ the last days.”—2 Timothy 3:1-5; Matthew 24:3-14. Jesus is the King of God’s Kingdom in heaven. He began ruling in 1914.—Revelation 11:15.
.
5. Salvation. Deliverance from sin and death is possible through the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. (Matthew 20:28; Acts 4:12) To benefit from that sacrifice, people must not only exercise faith in Jesus but also change their course of life and get baptized. (Matthew 28:19, 20; John 3:16; Acts 3:19, 20) A person’s works prove that his faith is alive. (James 2:24, 26) However, salvation cannot be earned—it comes through “the undeserved kindness of God.”—Galatians 2:16, 21.
.
6. Heaven. Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, and the faithful angels reside in the spirit realm. * (Psalm 103:19-21; Acts 7:55) A relatively small number of people—144,000—will be resurrected to life in heaven to rule with Jesus in the Kingdom.—Daniel 7:27; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 5:9, 10; 14:1, 3.
.
7. Earth. God created the earth to be mankind’s eternal home. (Psalm 104:5; 115:16; Ecclesiastes 1:4) God will bless obedient people with perfect health and everlasting life in an earthly paradise. Of course, it was his original purpose while creating man.—Psalm 37:11, 34.
.
8. Evil and suffering. These began when one of God’s angels rebelled. (John 8:44) This angel, who after his rebellion was called “Satan” and “Devil,” persuaded the first human couple to join him, and the consequences have been disastrous for their descendants. ( Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 5:12) In order to settle the moral issues raised by Satan, God has 'allowed' evil and suffering, but He will not permit them to continue forever.
.
9. Death. People who die pass out of existence. (Psalm 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) They do not suffer in a fiery hell of torment. God will bring billions back from death by means of a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) However, those who refuse to learn God’s ways after being raised to life will be destroyed forever with no hope of a resurrection.— Revelation 20:14, 15.
.
10. Family. We adhere to God’s original standard of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, with sexual immorality being the only valid basis for divorce. (Matthew 19:4-9) We are convinced that the wisdom found in the Bible helps families to succeed.—Ephesians 5:22–6:1.
.
11. Our worship. We do not venerate the cross or any other images. (Deuteronomy 4:15-19; 1 John 5:21) Key aspects of our worship include the following: Praying to God.—Philippians 4:6. Reading and studying the Bible.—Psalm 1:1-3. Meditating on what we learn from the Bible.—Psalm 77:12. Meeting together to pray, study the Bible, sing, express our faith, and encourage fellow Witnesses and others.— Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 10:23-25. Preaching the “good news of the Kingdom.”—Matthew 24:14. Helping those in need.—James 2:14-17. Constructing and maintaining Kingdom Halls and other facilities used to further our worldwide Bible educational work.— Psalm 127:1. Sharing in disaster relief.—Acts 11:27-30.
.
12. Our organization. We are organized into congregations, each of which is overseen by a body of elders. However, the elders do not form a clergy class, and they are unsalaried. (Matthew 10:8; 23:cool We do not practice tithing, and no collections are ever taken at our meetings. (2 Corinthians 9:7) All our activities are supported by anonymous donations. The Governing Body, a small group of mature Christians who serve at our world headquarters, provides direction for Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide.— Matthew 24:45.
