Goddex: Liars on the prowl. First, it did not rain yesterday. Except the rain only fell on MMIA roof and did not get to neighboring Ajao Estate where I stay. This is the interior of the renovated MMIA and doesn't look like that OP's picture.
why do we have to peddle falsehood to reiterate our points, this is not MMIA by any means, this looks more like MMA2(local airport being run by bi courtney).Informed nairalanders please confirm or prove me wrong

Car TalkRe: Road Trip On A Motorcycle From Lagos To Accra & Back To Lagos. by chatterly: 8:13pm On Oct 04, 2013
Somorin#1:
Nice, very nice.

Definetely a far cry from the Suzuki GT550, GT750, Triumph Tiger, BMW R60 that we used to ride back in the 80s in 9ja. Back then the longest distances was going from Abeokuta to UniIlorin, UniIbadan, etc for weekend parties or to the shrine. Back when 9ja was good, imho.

Still thinking of shipping my Ducati Supersports to Nigeria. Maybe I'll join you guys in one of my trips down home.

Still looking for one of my road dawgs, Dare, he used to ride a Suzuki GT550 and worked for an elevator repair company in Lagos back then.
wow,
This takes me way back,i was still in secondary school in the 80's but my big bros in those days in Ibadan were real bikers and the bikes usually used then were the GT550 auctioned off by the police, the Harley Davidson 1000's used by the original Oyo state road safety corps, and the triumphs which were bought from the Nigerian army. Those were really good days,SMH.i wonder if any of those bikes survive today?

i think all the things that are happening now are just designed to distract us from the real issues.the real issue for me is that ''what should become of Nigeria on the first of January 2014".All the tribal rants Ibo vs Yoruba and vice versa,PDP internal wrangling's,boko HAram and Ombatse uprisings etal are all designed to distract Nigerian from asking the real questions.while we sufferthe real owners of Nigeria are smiling, marrying new wives and buying new jets. cry

dgitrader: This same airport that started decaying since early 80's, the president obasanjos 8yrs even made it worse
Why not wait for the remodeling to end before publishing trash reports based on hate and ethnic antagonism. When a particular aviation minister was busy chasing abuja prostitutes,, diverting needed funds into family accounts and filling the critical vacancies with tribal followers, you did not shout. Now you expect just few months of corrections to miraculously wipeoff your years of destructive inputs huh
That remodeling job is the shoddiest I have ever seen, what is the point of remodeling when the end result has no bearing on the customer experiencehuh??
Some countrys have smaller airports and they function well,MMIA problem is beyond remodeling but more of a process remodeling exercise
PoliticsRe: If NIGERIA Was To Divide Which Region Will SUFFER Most by chatterly: 12:19pm On Sep 17, 2013
Controversy: Talking about what fg govt is getting from southeast compelling it with other regions is rubbish. Just like hopping to harvest more where you have planted nothing, oil was first discover in Ebonyi state but was abandoned for just no reason.
Onitsha was the biggest trade zone in west African but lack seaport and international airport to support its growth
Who build the international airport in Lagos =FG
Who build seaport =FG
Who site all the multi-national companies in Lagos that should have been in Niger delta where their operational base are the same FG
Their is Wharf in Kanu, Kaduna operating directly from Lagos but none in the east =FG the list is endless.
But even at that we are still competing or even better than most region when you talk about human capital
WHARF IN KANO,KADUNA!!!!!

wolske: Are u sure Lufthansa is cheaper. My investigations show that Emirates is still the cheapest, although with longer hours.
I checked online for travel in early October, currently Arikair,Lufthansa,Air Maroc,Turkish Airlines and Royal Jordanian are cheaper than Emirates. Not sure of the services of the other airlines but Lufthansa should be ok,if prices don't come down in the next week ,I will settle for Lufthansa
TravelRe: Emirate Flight From Lagos To London by chatterly: 6:57am On Sep 10, 2013
Why not go via Lufthansa,it is still cheaper than klm or emirates by at least 30k and the journey time is far less
Car TalkRe: FRSC Writes Toyota Over High Rate Of Crashes by chatterly: 5:33pm On Sep 05, 2013
I think the major problems is are our untrained drivers and bad roads, the way the commercial drivers speed with these buses on the Lagos /Benin expressway is scary.we are all guilty, from the Edo buses operated by edegbe etc to the urban mass transit operated by the ondo/ekiti boys.another issue with the hiace is the problem of conversion, the toyota buses being sold in nigeria come from multiple sources,Toyota nigeria imports theirs from South Africa, some others import from Dubai which are isually termed as grey imports but still brand new and ok.some peopple now bring in the same model from Japan and convert to left hand drive thereby compromising all the safety features in the bus.the buses from Japan look exactly the same and cost about half the price of the genuine imports.in a country like NAIja where we have no regulations,a profit savvy operator will only go for the cheaper option, since even the brand new ones will fall apart in max 2 years due to our bad roads.its a conundrum of many things,it really has nothing to do with Toyota as a brand.

The truth is Nigeria has always been and will always be a fraud.the question then is ,what are we going to do about it??.?.
we the youth who should do something about it are pure occupied fighting our tribal wars, same way our fathers did 50+years ago.

PoliticsRe: Africa’s Fastest Train!!!! (pics) by chatterly: 7:24pm On Aug 29, 2013
What we are building are still the narrow guage tracks which the world has left behind decades ago and the new trains commmisioned by the NRC are diesel locomotives based on 60s technology built for us by GE in Brazil. No pun intended but we CANNOT get to the level of the South Africans as per this rail service for the next 50 years.

Pathetic peoplequote author=biafranqueen]^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I am glad I can save my breath what a shame on the masses embarassed
The elite don't give a damn about you they pop champagne and continue strategist measures on how to keep looting the money. They rarely talk about the poor or how to give raises or help the workers better the lives of family. Guess what most of these material things you are hustling to claim for your tribe are owned by board of directors and it is not tribes they have in common but $$$$$.

Can you imagine boasting and bragging Igbos shame on you while the East infrastructure is still in the 60's you want to claim these properties for your brothers. Most of them in Lagos and Abuja barely visit home or do anything constructive in the village. All they do is talk about how family is always begging and how if they give them money they just waste it.(Which they do actually embarassed) Our Governor Obi built a billion dollar shopping center in Abuja and you people will be clapping for him, claiming how Igbo's run Nigeria. I know for sure one of the estates that is shown on the thread, the owner openly calls his people in the Village Bush Meat and when asked why don't you build something in the East he laughs and says can they afford it, those Bush Meat.

Ndi Igbo go home and build on your fathers land shameless people angry Get in where you fit in go and create property value in the east. Create jobs in the east instead of giving cash, because you know they will squander it, and you always want to be on top while your brothers are struggling. Quit building elaborate Mansions that you visit once a year if you even do and build more factories, buildings, schools, hospitals. The children of these families pressure your parents to do the right thing and go and run the business, if you have too.[/quote]

I just dont understand the tribalism going on here these days, any post that has to do with Lagos or anything yoruba turns to a struggle of one tribe being better than the other.Fact is Lagos is in Yorubaland and nothing can change that fact, the fact that everyone is allowed to build in lagos is a also a positive development. The issue of Ibos claiming to own most properties in Lagos is laughable but the real lagos residents know better.Lets move on for Gods sake,Enugu is a lovely place,i have been there quite a number of times so is owerri.Let us emphasize our positives and what can bring us together as a people .And if it is clear that we cannot stay together, let us as youths clamour and direct our energies on breaking up the country so that every tribe can develop at its own pace and those with the zeal to compete with each other e.g Yorubas and ibos can do this in a positive way.The real occupiers of nigeria are having a laugh at all of us particularly us the Yorubas and the Ibos.instead of us to be clamouring for a referendum or a national conference to negotiate our future we are slagging off each other.Methinks we should be strategizing on how we can invoke the 100 year clause in our amalgamation agreement or other real issues. Some of us have young children and i shudder at what Nigeria will be like in 20 years time.

naija of 2013 snd naija of 1998 are centuries apart,as at that time there was no gsm, facebook, youtube and all the stuff we are used to now, i dont know much about the military but i can guess that his course mates are Major generals or even retired by now,so what noise is he going to make.he had better sit down and enjoy his loot if any remains and stay out of trouble.15 years in detention is no joke.

FamilyRe: Is There A Happy Polygamous Home? by chatterly: 12:40pm On Jul 01, 2013
For me there is nothing wrong with polygamy if the parties involved are upfront with each other,I am a monogamist ,will never marry another wife and my parents have been married for about 50 years.Traditionally we Africans were polygamist in nature and we had a way of life that worked for us,modernity and religion brought about the changes that we have now,but I ask myself these questions
1..is it not better for a man to keep 2 or more officially than having one wife and multiple concubines with the attendant problems that come with these.
2.why are we complaining about young girls not getting married when the are already automatically disadvantaged as there are more women than men and women tend to mature faster than men, meaning that by the time they are ready to get married, their age mates are still fooling around in most cases and by the time their mates are finally ready, their mates are seen as being too old.
3.the white man brought about this issue of monogamy to us but now they are the ones promoting gay marriage etal, won't be suprised if bestiality or incense is legalized in the next 50yrs(Shebi,it's the rights of individuals to do whatever they want that is being promoted)

My take, we do not have to take everything promoted by the white man hook line and sinker, let us develop a way of lifetime that is suited for us!,!,!,!
PoliticsRe: Shoprite Opens In Ibadan by chatterly: 9:49am On Jun 28, 2013
I wonder why the negative comments,it seems some folks here like crying more than the bereaved, shop rite made a business decision to open in a place where there is a large population(potential market)and some guys are only interested in seeing the negatives,i am not from IB but grew up there and will always relate to the place, the same way someone that grew up in Enugu,Kaduna,Jos or any of the traditional towns will.If Ibadan is dirty or backward let those that live there deal with it.As usual before long the whole issue will take a tribal connotation.please let us be guided in the way we do things. If something is bad, condemn it...
